Psalms 52

1 TO THE OVERSEER. AN INSTRUCTION OF DAVID, IN THE COMING IN OF DOEG THE EDOMITE, AND HE DECLARES TO SAUL AND SAYS TO HIM, “DAVID CAME TO THE HOUSE OF AHIMELECH.” Why do you boast in evil, O mighty one? The kindness of God [is] all the day.

2 Your tongue devises mischiefs, Like a sharp razor, working deceit.

Als der Edomiter Doeg kam und Saul meldete: "David hat sich ins Haus Ahimelechs begeben."

3 You have loved evil rather than good, Lying, than speaking righteousness. (Selah)

Was rühmst du dich der Bosheit, du Held?! / Gottes Gnade währt für und für.

4 You have loved all devouring words, O you deceitful tongue.

Verderben sinnt seine Zunge / Gleich scharfem Messer, du Unheilstifter!

5 Also—God breaks you down forever, Takes you, and pulls you out of the tent, And He has uprooted you Out of the land of the living. (Selah)

Böses liebst du mehr als Gutes, / Lüge redest du lieber als Wahrheit. (Sela)

6 And the righteous see, And fear, and laugh at him.

Du liebst nur verderbliche Reden, / Du Zunge voll Trug!

7 “Behold, the man who does not make God his strong place, And trusts in the abundance of his riches, He is strong in his mischiefs.”

So wird denn auch Gott dich zertrümmern auf immer, / Er wird dich ergreifen, wegreißen aus deinem Gezelt, / Aus der Lebenden Land dich entwurzeln. (Sela)

8 And I, as a green olive in the house of God, I have trusted in the kindness of God, For all time and forever,

Die Gerechten werden das schauen und schauern, / Sie werden sein lachen und sprechen:

9 I thank You for all time, because You have done [it], And I wait [on] Your Name for [it is] good before Your saints!

"Seht doch den Mann! Er wählte sich nicht Elohim zum Schutz; / Auf des Reichtums Fülle verließ er sich, / Dünkte sich sicher in seinem Frevel." Ich aber bin wie ein grünender Ölbaum (gepflanzt) in Elohims Haus. / Ich traue der Gnade Elohims auf immer und ewig. Preisen will ich dich immerdar, weil du es vollbracht. / Harren will ich auf deinen Namen, / Denn er ist köstlich vor deinen Frommen.
