Psalms 4
1 TO THE OVERSEER. WITH STRINGED INSTRUMENTS. A PSALM OF DAVID. In my calling answer me, O God of my righteousness. In adversity You gave enlargement to me; Favor me, and hear my prayer.
Ouve-me; quando eu clamo, ó Deus da minha justiça, na angustia me déste largueza; tem misericordia de mim e ouve a minha oração.
2 Sons of men! Until when [is] my glory for shame? You love a vain thing, you seek a lie. (Selah)
Filhos dos homens, até quando convertereis a minha gloria em infamia? até quando amareis a vaidade e buscareis a mentira? (Selah)
3 And know that YHWH Has separated a saintly one to Himself. YHWH hears in my calling to Him.
Sabei pois que o Senhor separou para si aquelle que lhe é querido; o Senhor ouvirá quando eu clamar a elle.
4 “Tremble, and do not sin”; Say [thus] in your heart on your bed, And be silent. (Selah)
Perturbae-vos e não pequeis: fallae com o vosso coração sobre a vossa cama, e calae-vos. (Selah)
5 Sacrifice sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in YHWH.
Offerecei sacrificios de justiça, e confiae no Senhor.
6 Many are saying, “Who shows us good?” Lift on us the light of Your face, O YHWH,
Muitos dizem: Quem nos mostrará o bem? Senhor, exalta sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.
7 You have given joy in my heart, From the time their grain and their wine Have been multiplied.
Pozéste alegria no meu coração, mais do que no tempo em que se multiplicaram o seu trigo e o seu vinho.
8 Together I lie down and sleep in peace, For You, O YHWH, alone, Cause me to dwell in confidence!
Em paz tambem me deitarei e dormirei, porque só tu, Senhor, me fazes habitar em segurança.
