< Psalms 38 >
1 A PSALM OF DAVID. “TO CAUSE TO REMEMBER.” YHWH, do not reprove me in Your wrath, Nor discipline me in Your fury.
Dawid dwom. Adesrɛ. Awurade, nka mʼanim wɔ wʼabufuw mu na ntwe mʼaso wɔ wʼabufuwhyew mu.
2 For Your arrows have come down on me, And You let down Your hand on me.
Wo bɛmma hwirew me mu, na wo nsa adwerɛw me.
3 Soundness is not in my flesh, Because of Your indignation, Peace is not in my bones, Because of my sin.
Wʼabufuwhyew no nti ahoɔden biara nni me mu; me bɔne nti, me nnompe ahodwow.
4 For my iniquities have passed over my head, As a heavy burden—too heavy for me.
Mʼafɔdi amene me te sɛ adesoa a mu yɛ duru dodo.
5 Stunk—my wounds have become corrupt, Because of my folly.
Mʼakuru bɔn na aporɔw esiane me bɔne mu agyimisɛm nti.
6 I have been bent down, I have been bowed down—to excess, I have gone mourning all the day.
Makotow na wɔabrɛ me ase; da mu nyinaa menantenantew twa agyaadwo.
7 For my flanks have been full of drought, And soundness is not in my flesh.
Mʼakyi dompe mu yaw boro so: ahoɔden biara nni me nipadua mu.
8 I have been feeble and struck—to excess, I have roared from disquietude of heart.
Mabrɛ na mapɛtɛw koraa. Me koma mu yaw ma misi apini.
9 Lord, all my desire [is] before You, And my sighing has not been hid from You.
Awurade, nea merehwɛ anim nyinaa da wʼanim; mʼapinisi nhintaw wo.
10 My heart [is] panting, my power has forsaken me, And the light of my eyes, Even they are not with me.
Me koma bɔ kitirikitiri, na mʼahoɔden asa mpo mʼaniwa aduru sum.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from before my plague. And my neighbors have stood far off.
Mʼapirakuru nti me nnamfonom ne me yɔnkonom mmɛn me; mʼafipamfo twe wɔn ho fi me ho.
12 And those seeking my soul lay a snare, And those seeking my evil Have spoken mischievous things, And they meditate [on] deceits all the day.
Wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wokum me no sum me mfiri, wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔhaw me no di me sɛe ho nkɔmmɔ da mu nyinaa wodwen nnaadaasɛm ho.
13 And I, as deaf, do not hear. And as a mute one who does not open his mouth.
Mete sɛ ɔsotifo a ɔnte asɛm, mete sɛ mum a ontumi nkasa.
14 Indeed, I am as a man who does not hear, And in his mouth are no reproofs.
Mayɛ sɛ obi a ɔnte asɛm, nea nʼano ntumi mma mmuae.
15 Because for You, O YHWH, I have waited, You answer, O Lord my God.
Awurade, meretwɛn wo; Awurade me Nyankopɔn, wubegye me so.
16 When I said, “Lest they rejoice over me, In the slipping of my foot they magnified themselves against me.”
Mekae se, “Mma wɔn ani nnye; anaa wɔmma wɔn ho so bere a mʼanan awatiri no.”
17 For I am ready to halt, And my pain [is] continually before me.
Mereyɛ mahwe ase, na me yaw da so wɔ me mu.
18 For I declare my iniquity, I am sorry for my sin.
Meka me mfomso kyerɛ; me bɔne hyɛ me so.
19 And my enemies [are] lively, They have been strong, and those hating me without cause, Have been multiplied.
Bebree na wɔyɛ mʼatamfo; wɔn a wɔtan me kwa no dɔɔso.
20 And those paying evil for good accuse me, Because of my pursuing good.
Wɔn a wɔde bɔne tua me papa so ka no, bɔ me ahohora bere a mereyɛ papa.
21 Do not forsake me, O YHWH, My God, do not be far from me,
Awurade nnyaw me. Me Nyankopɔn, nkɔ akyiri!
22 Hurry to help me, O Lord, my salvation!
Bra ntɛm bɛboa me, Awurade, mʼAgyenkwa. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo no. Yedutun.
