Psalms 38
1 A PSALM OF DAVID. “TO CAUSE TO REMEMBER.” YHWH, do not reprove me in Your wrath, Nor discipline me in Your fury.
Salmo. Di Davide. In memoria. Signore, non castigarmi nel tuo sdegno, non punirmi nella tua ira.
2 For Your arrows have come down on me, And You let down Your hand on me.
Le tue frecce mi hanno trafitto, su di me è scesa la tua mano.
3 Soundness is not in my flesh, Because of Your indignation, Peace is not in my bones, Because of my sin.
Per il tuo sdegno non c'è in me nulla di sano, nulla è intatto nelle mie ossa per i miei peccati.
4 For my iniquities have passed over my head, As a heavy burden—too heavy for me.
Le mie iniquità hanno superato il mio capo, come carico pesante mi hanno oppresso.
5 Stunk—my wounds have become corrupt, Because of my folly.
Putride e fetide sono le mie piaghe a causa della mia stoltezza.
6 I have been bent down, I have been bowed down—to excess, I have gone mourning all the day.
Sono curvo e accasciato, triste mi aggiro tutto il giorno.
7 For my flanks have been full of drought, And soundness is not in my flesh.
Sono torturati i miei fianchi, in me non c'è nulla di sano.
8 I have been feeble and struck—to excess, I have roared from disquietude of heart.
Afflitto e sfinito all'estremo, ruggisco per il fremito del mio cuore.
9 Lord, all my desire [is] before You, And my sighing has not been hid from You.
Signore, davanti a te ogni mio desiderio e il mio gemito a te non è nascosto.
10 My heart [is] panting, my power has forsaken me, And the light of my eyes, Even they are not with me.
Palpita il mio cuore, la forza mi abbandona, si spegne la luce dei miei occhi.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from before my plague. And my neighbors have stood far off.
Amici e compagni si scostano dalle mie piaghe, i miei vicini stanno a distanza.
12 And those seeking my soul lay a snare, And those seeking my evil Have spoken mischievous things, And they meditate [on] deceits all the day.
Tende lacci chi attenta alla mia vita, trama insidie chi cerca la mia rovina. e tutto il giorno medita inganni.
13 And I, as deaf, do not hear. And as a mute one who does not open his mouth.
Io, come un sordo, non ascolto e come un muto non apro la bocca;
14 Indeed, I am as a man who does not hear, And in his mouth are no reproofs.
sono come un uomo che non sente e non risponde.
15 Because for You, O YHWH, I have waited, You answer, O Lord my God.
In te spero, Signore; tu mi risponderai, Signore Dio mio.
16 When I said, “Lest they rejoice over me, In the slipping of my foot they magnified themselves against me.”
Ho detto: «Di me non godano, contro di me non si vantino quando il mio piede vacilla».
17 For I am ready to halt, And my pain [is] continually before me.
Poiché io sto per cadere e ho sempre dinanzi la mia pena.
18 For I declare my iniquity, I am sorry for my sin.
Ecco, confesso la mia colpa, sono in ansia per il mio peccato.
19 And my enemies [are] lively, They have been strong, and those hating me without cause, Have been multiplied.
I miei nemici sono vivi e forti, troppi mi odiano senza motivo,
20 And those paying evil for good accuse me, Because of my pursuing good.
mi pagano il bene col male, mi accusano perché cerco il bene.
21 Do not forsake me, O YHWH, My God, do not be far from me,
Non abbandonarmi, Signore, Dio mio, da me non stare lontano;
22 Hurry to help me, O Lord, my salvation!
accorri in mio aiuto, Signore, mia salvezza.
