< Psalms 38 >
1 A PSALM OF DAVID. “TO CAUSE TO REMEMBER.” YHWH, do not reprove me in Your wrath, Nor discipline me in Your fury.
David ƒe ha. Kukuɖeɖe. O! Yehowa, mègaka mo nam le wò dziku me, alo ahe to nam le wò dɔmedzoe helĩhelĩ me o,
2 For Your arrows have come down on me, And You let down Your hand on me.
elabena wò aŋutrɔwo ƒo ɖem, eye wò asi sẽ ɖe dzinye.
3 Soundness is not in my flesh, Because of Your indignation, Peace is not in my bones, Because of my sin.
Wò dziku helĩhelĩ la wɔe be ŋusẽ aɖeke megale menye o; nye ƒuwo tugu le nye nu vɔ̃ ta.
4 For my iniquities have passed over my head, As a heavy burden—too heavy for me.
Nye dzidada kɔ gbɔ tanye abe agba kpekpe si nyemate ŋu atsɔ o la ene.
5 Stunk—my wounds have become corrupt, Because of my folly.
Nye abiwo ƒaƒã hele ʋeʋẽm le nye bometsitsi ƒe nu vɔ̃ ta.
6 I have been bent down, I have been bowed down—to excess, I have gone mourning all the day.
Wobɔbɔm ɖe anyi, eye woɖi gbɔ̃m, eye ŋkeke blibo la, mele yiyim le nuxaxa me.
7 For my flanks have been full of drought, And soundness is not in my flesh.
Vevesese manyagblɔ aɖe xɔ nye ame blibo la me, eye ŋusẽ aɖeke megale nye ameti blibo la ŋu o.
8 I have been feeble and struck—to excess, I have roared from disquietude of heart.
Megbɔdzɔ, hegba gudugudu, eye mele ŋeŋem le nye dzi ƒe vevesese ta.
9 Lord, all my desire [is] before You, And my sighing has not been hid from You.
O! Aƒetɔ, nye dzimedidiwo katã le ŋkuwò me, eye nye hũɖeɖewo meɣla ɖe wò o.
10 My heart [is] panting, my power has forsaken me, And the light of my eyes, Even they are not with me.
Nye dzi le tsotsom kpokpokpo, ŋusẽ vɔ le ŋunye, eye nyemegate ŋu le nu kpɔm o.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from before my plague. And my neighbors have stood far off.
Le nye abiawo ta, xɔ̃nyewo kple nye zɔhɛwo ƒo asa nam, eye nye aƒelikawo hã le adzɔge nam.
12 And those seeking my soul lay a snare, And those seeking my evil Have spoken mischievous things, And they meditate [on] deceits all the day.
Ame siwo le nye agbe yome tim la tre mɔ nam, ame siwo di be yewoawɔ nuvevim la le nu ƒom tso nye gbegblẽ ŋuti; ŋkeke blibo la wole ɖoɖo wɔm ɖe alakpadada ŋu.
13 And I, as deaf, do not hear. And as a mute one who does not open his mouth.
Mele abe tokunɔ si mate ŋu ase nu o la ene, eye mele abe aɖetututɔ si mate ŋu aƒo nu o la ene.
14 Indeed, I am as a man who does not hear, And in his mouth are no reproofs.
Mele abe ame si mesea nu o la ene kple ame si mate ŋu atsɔ eƒe nu aɖo nya aɖeke ŋu o la ene.
15 Because for You, O YHWH, I have waited, You answer, O Lord my God.
O! Yehowa, mele asiwò nu kpɔm, O! Aƒetɔ, nye Mawu, atɔ nam godoo.
16 When I said, “Lest they rejoice over me, In the slipping of my foot they magnified themselves against me.”
Elabena megblɔ be, “Mègana be woakpɔ dziɖuɖu ƒe dzidzɔ ɖe ŋutinye, alo woado wo ɖokui ɖe dzi ɖe ŋutinye ne nye afɔ ɖiɖi o.”
17 For I am ready to halt, And my pain [is] continually before me.
Esusɔ vie ko madze anyi, eye nye vevesese la le edzi ɖaa.
18 For I declare my iniquity, I am sorry for my sin.
Meʋu nye dzidada me, eye nye nu vɔ̃ ɖe fu nam.
19 And my enemies [are] lively, They have been strong, and those hating me without cause, Have been multiplied.
Ame geɖewoe nye nye futɔ gãwo, eye ame siwo lé fum susumanɔmetɔe la sɔ gbɔ ŋutɔ.
20 And those paying evil for good accuse me, Because of my pursuing good.
Ame siwo tsɔ vɔ̃ ɖo nyui siwo mewɔ teƒe la ƒo ɖi nye ŋkɔ, esi meti nu si nyo la yome.
21 Do not forsake me, O YHWH, My God, do not be far from me,
O! Yehowa, mègagblẽm ɖi o, O! Nye Mawu, mèganɔ adzɔge nam o.
22 Hurry to help me, O Lord, my salvation!
Va kaba, nàɖem, O! Aƒetɔ, nye Ɖela.
