Psalms 37
1 BY DAVID. [ALEPH-BET] Do not fret because of evildoers, Do not be envious against doers of iniquity,
En Psalm Davids. Harmas icke öfver de onda; var icke nitisk öfver de ogerningsmän.
2 For they are cut off speedily as grass, And fade as the greenness of the tender grass.
Ty såsom gräs varda de snart afhuggne, och såsom gröna örter skola de förvissna.
3 Trust in YHWH, and do good, Dwell [in] the land, and enjoy faithfulness,
Haf hopp till Herran, och gör det godt är; blif i landet, och föd dig redeliga.
4 And delight yourself on YHWH, And He gives to you the petitions of your heart.
Haf dina lust i Herranom; han skall gifva dig hvad ditt hjerta önskar.
5 Roll your way on YHWH, And trust on Him, and He works,
Befalla Herranom din väg, och hoppas uppå honom; han skall väl görat;
6 And has brought out your righteousness as light, And your judgment as noon-day.
Och skall frambära dina rättfärdighet såsom ett ljus, och din rätt såsom en middag.
7 Be silent for YHWH, and stay yourself for Him, Do not fret because of him Who is making his way prosperous, Because of a man doing wicked schemes.
Förbida Herran, och vänt efter honom. Harmas icke öfver den, hvilkom all ting, efter hans vilja, lyckosamliga framgå.
8 Desist from anger, and forsake fury, Do not fret yourself to only do evil.
Håll tillbaka af vrede, och öfvergif grymhet; blif icke vred, så att du ock illa gör.
9 For evildoers are cut off, As for those waiting on YHWH, they possess the land.
Ty de onda skola utrotade varda; men de, som vänta efter Herran, skola ärfva landet.
10 And yet a little [while], and the wicked is not, And you have considered his place, and it is not.
Det är ännu en liten tid, så är den ogudaktige intet mer; och när du efter hans rum ser, skall han borto vara.
11 And the humble possess the land, And they have delighted themselves In the abundance of peace.
Men de elände skola ärfva landet, och lust hafva i storom frid.
12 The wicked is devising against the righteous, And gnashing his teeth against him.
Den ogudaktige trugar den rättfärdiga, och biter sina tänder tillsamman öfver honom.
13 The Lord laughs at him, For He has seen that his day comes.
Men Herren ler åt honom; ty han ser att hans dag kommer.
14 The wicked have opened a sword, And they have bent their bow, To cause the poor and needy to fall, To slaughter the upright of the way.
De ogudaktige draga ut svärdet, och bända sin båga, att de skola fälla den elända och fattiga, och slagta de fromma.
15 Their sword enters into their own heart, And their bows are shattered.
Men deras svärd skall gå in i deras hjerta, och deras båge skall sönderbrista.
16 Better [is] the little of the righteous, Than the store of many wicked.
Det litsla, som en rättfärdig hafver, är bättre än många ogudaktigas stora håfvor.
17 For the arms of the wicked are shattered, And YHWH is sustaining the righteous.
Ty de ogudaktigas arm skall sönderbrytas; men Herren håller de rättfärdiga vid magt.
18 YHWH knows the days of the perfect, And their inheritance is for all time.
Herren känner de frommas dagar, och deras gods skall blifva evinnerliga.
19 They are not ashamed in a time of evil, And they are satisfied in days of famine.
De skola icke på skam komma i den onda tiden, och i hårdom årom skola de nog hafva.
20 But the wicked perish, and the enemies of YHWH, Have been consumed as the preciousness of lambs, They have been consumed in smoke.
Ty de ogudaktige skola förgås; och Herrans fiender, om de än vore såsom en kostelig äng, skola de likväl försvinna, såsom en rök försvinner.
21 The wicked is borrowing and does not repay, And the righteous is gracious and giving.
Den ogudaktige borgar, och betalar intet; men den rättfärdige är barmhertig och mild.
22 For His blessed ones possess the land, And His reviled ones are cut off.
Ty hans välsignade ärfva landet; men hans förbannade varda utrotade.
23 The steps of a man [are] from YHWH, They have been prepared, And He desires his way.
Af Herranom varder sådana mans gång främjad, och han hafver lust till hans väg.
24 When he falls, he is not cast down, For YHWH is sustaining his hand.
Om han faller, varder han ej bortkastad; ty Herren håller honom vid handen.
25 I have been young, I have also become old, And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, And his seed seeking bread.
Jag hafver ung varit, och är gammal vorden, och hafver ännu aldrig sett den rättfärdiga förlåten, eller hans säd efter bröd gå.
26 All the day he is gracious and lending, And his seed [is] for a blessing.
Han är alltid barmhertig, och lånar gerna; och hans säd skall välsignad varda.
27 Turn aside from evil, and do good, and dwell for all time.
Låt af det onda, och gör det goda, och blif i evig tid.
28 For YHWH is loving judgment, And He does not forsake His saintly ones, They have been kept for all time, And the seed of the wicked is cut off.
Ty Herren älskar rätten, och öfvergifver icke sina heliga; evinnerliga varda de bevarade; men de ogudaktigas säd skall utrotad varda.
29 The righteous possess the land, And they dwell on it forever.
De rättfärdige ärfva landet, och blifva derinne evinnerliga.
30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And his tongue speaks judgment.
Dens rättfärdigas mun talar vishet, och hans tunga lärer rätten.
31 The law of his God [is] his heart, His steps do not slide.
Hans Guds lag är i hans hjerta; hans steg slinta icke.
32 The wicked is watching for the righteous, And is seeking to put him to death.
Den ogudaktige vaktar uppå den rättfärdiga, och aktar dräpa honom.
33 YHWH does not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him in his being judged.
Men Herren låter honom icke uti hans händer, och fördömer honom icke, då han dömd varder.
34 Look to YHWH, and keep His way, And He exalts you to possess the land, In the wicked being cut off—you see!
Förbida Herran, och håll hans väg, så skall han upphöja dig, så att du skall ärfva landet. Du skall se, att de ogudaktige utrotade varda.
35 I have seen the wicked terrible, And spreading as a green native plant,
Jag hafver sett en ogudaktig, den var fast väldig, och utbredde sig, och grönskades såsom ett laurbärsträ.
36 And he passes away, and behold, he is not, And I seek him, and he is not found!
Då man gick der framom, si, så var han borto; jag frågade efter honom, då vardt han ingenstäds funnen.
37 Observe the perfect, and see the upright, For the latter end of each [is] peace.
Blif from, och håll dig rätt; ty slikom skall det på sistone väl gå.
38 And transgressors were destroyed together, The latter end of the wicked was cut off.
Men de öfverträdare skola tillsammans förgås, och de ogudaktige på sistone utrotade varda.
39 And the salvation of the righteous [is] from YHWH, Their strong place in a time of adversity.
Men Herren hjelper de rättfärdiga; han är deras starkhet i nöd;
40 And YHWH helps them and delivers them, He delivers them from the wicked, And saves them, Because they trusted in Him!
Och Herren skall vara dem biståndig, och hjelpa dem; han skall undsätta dem ifrå de ogudaktiga, och frälsa dem; ty de trösta uppå honom.
