< Psalms 34 >
1 BY DAVID, IN HIS CHANGING HIS BEHAVIOR BEFORE ABIMELECH, AND HE DRIVES HIM AWAY, AND HE GOES. [ALEPH-BET] I bless YHWH at all times, His praise [is] continually in my mouth.
Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita, ʻi heʻene liliu ʻene tōʻonga ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻApimeleki; ʻaia naʻa ne kapusi ia, pea ʻalu ia ʻo hao. Te u fakafetaʻi kia Sihova ʻi he kuonga kotoa pē: ʻe tuʻumaʻu pe ʻene fakafetaʻi ʻi hoku ngutu.
2 In YHWH my soul boasts herself, The humble hear and rejoice.
ʻE vikiviki hoku laumālie ʻia Sihova: ʻe fanongo ki ai ʻae kakai angavaivai, pea fiefia ai.
3 Ascribe greatness to YHWH with me, And we exalt His Name together.
Ketau fai mo au ke hapai hake ʻa Sihova, pea ketau fakaongoongolelei fakataha hono huafa.
4 I sought YHWH, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Naʻaku kumi kia Sihova, pea ne ongoʻi au, ʻo ne fakamoʻui au mei heʻeku manavahē kotoa pē.
5 They looked expectingly to Him, And they became bright, And their faces are not ashamed.
Naʻa nau vakai kiate ia, pea māmangia ai: pea naʻe ʻikai mā ai honau mata.
6 This poor [one] called, and YHWH heard, And saved him from all his distresses.
Naʻe tangi ʻae tangata masiva ni, pea naʻe ongoʻi ia ʻe Sihova, ʻo ne fakamoʻui ia mei heʻene mamahi kotoa pē.
7 A messenger of YHWH is encamping, Around those who fear Him, And He arms them.
ʻOku nofo ʻae ʻāngelo ʻa Sihova ʻo takatakai ʻakinautolu ʻoku manavahē kiate ia, ʻo ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu.
8 Taste and see that YHWH [is] good, O the blessedness of the man who trusts in Him.
Mou kamata ʻo vakai ʻoku lelei ʻa Sihova: ʻoku monūʻia ʻae tangata ko ia ʻoku falala kiate ia.
9 Fear YHWH, you His holy ones, For there is no lack to those fearing Him.
Ke manavahē kia Sihova, ʻakimoutolu ko ʻene kau māʻoniʻoni: he ʻoku ʻikai ha masiva kiate kinautolu ʻoku manavahē kiate ia.
10 Young lions have lacked and been hungry, And those seeking YHWH do not lack any good,
ʻOku masiva ʻae fanga laione mui, mo fiekaia: ka ko kinautolu ʻoku kumi kia Sihova ʻe ʻikai te nau masiva ʻi ha meʻa lelei ʻe taha.
11 Come, children, listen to me, I teach you the fear of YHWH.
Haʻu, ʻakimoutolu ko e fānau, ʻo fanongo kiate au: te u ako kiate kimoutolu ʻae manavahē kia Sihova.
12 Who [is] the man that is desiring life? Loving days to see good?
Ko hai ha tangata ʻoku holi ke moʻui, ʻo manako ki he ngaahi ʻaho lahi, koeʻuhi ke ne mamata ai ki he lelei?
13 Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.
Taʻofi ho ʻelelo mei he kovi, mo ho loungutu mei he lea kākā.
14 Turn aside from evil and do good, Seek peace and pursue it.
Afe mei he kovi, mo ke fai lelei; kumi ki he melino, pea tuli ki ai.
15 The eyes of YHWH [are] to the righteous, And His ears to their cry.
ʻOku ʻafio maʻu ʻae fofonga ʻo Sihova ki he kakai māʻoniʻoni, pea ʻoku ongoʻi ʻe hono telinga ʻenau tangi.
16 (The face of YHWH [is] on doers of evil, To cut off their memorial from earth.)
ʻOku houhau ʻae fofonga ʻo Sihova kiate kinautolu ʻoku fai kovi, ke motuhi honau fakamanatuʻi mei māmani.
17 They cried, and YHWH heard, And delivered them from all their distresses.
ʻOku tangi ʻae māʻoniʻoni, pea ongoʻi ʻe Sihova, ʻo ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei heʻenau ngaahi mamahi kotoa pē.
18 YHWH [is] near to the broken of heart, And He saves the bruised of spirit.
ʻOku ofi ʻa Sihova kiate kinautolu ʻoku loto mafesi; ʻoku ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu ʻoku laumālie mafōfoa.
19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous, YHWH delivers him out of them all.
ʻOku lahi ʻae ngaahi mamahi ʻoe māʻoniʻoni: ka ʻoku fakamoʻui ia mei ai kotoa pē ʻe Sihova.
20 He is keeping all his bones, Not one of them has been broken.
ʻOku ne tauhi hono ngaahi hui kotoa pē: ʻe ʻikai mafesi ha taha.
21 Evil puts the wicked to death, And those hating the righteous are desolate.
ʻE fakapoongi ʻe he kovi ʻae kau angahala: pea ko kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa ki he kau māʻoniʻoni te nau malaʻia.
22 YHWH redeems the soul of His servants, And none trusting in Him are desolate!
ʻOku huhuʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae laumālie ʻo ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki: pea ʻe ʻikai malaʻia ha tokotaha ʻokinautolu ʻoku falala kiate ia.
