Psalms 2

1 Why have nations assembled tumultuously? And peoples meditate vanity?

למה רגשו גוים ולאמים יהגו-ריק

2 Kings of the earth station themselves, and princes have been united together, against YHWH, and against His Messiah:

יתיצבו מלכי-ארץ-- ורוזנים נוסדו-יחד על-יהוה ועל-משיחו

3 “Let us draw off Their cords, And cast Their thick bands from us.”

ננתקה את-מוסרותימו ונשליכה ממנו עבתימו

4 He who is sitting in the heavens laughs, The Lord mocks at them.

יושב בשמים ישחק אדני ילעג-למו

5 Then He speaks to them in His anger, and in His wrath He troubles them:

אז ידבר אלימו באפו ובחרונו יבהלמו

6 “And I have anointed My King, On Zion—My holy hill.”

ואני נסכתי מלכי על-ציון הר-קדשי

7 I declare concerning a statute: YHWH said to me, “You [are] My Son, today I have brought You forth.

אספרה אל-חק יהוה אמר אלי בני אתה--אני היום ילדתיך

8 Ask of Me and I give nations [as] Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth [for] Your possession.

שאל ממני--ואתנה גוים נחלתך ואחזתך אפסי-ארץ

9 You rule them with a scepter of iron, You crush them as a vessel of a potter.”

תרעם בשבט ברזל ככלי יוצר תנפצם

10 And now, O kings, act wisely, Be instructed, O judges of earth,

ועתה מלכים השכילו הוסרו שפטי ארץ

11 Serve YHWH with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

עבדו את-יהוה ביראה וגילו ברעדה

12 Kiss the Chosen One [[or Son]], lest He is angry, And you perish [from] the way, When His anger burns but a little, O the blessedness of all trusting in Him!

נשקו-בר פן-יאנף ותאבדו דרך-- כי-יבער כמעט אפו אשרי כל-חוסי בו
