< Psalms 19 >

1 TO THE OVERSEER. A PSALM OF DAVID. The heavens [are] recounting the glory of God, And the expanse [is] declaring the work of His hands.
KE hoakaka mai net na lani i ka nani o ke Akua; Ke hoike mai nei ke aouli i kana hana io.
2 Day to day utters speech, And night to night shows knowledge.
Ko hai mai nei kela la i keia la i ka olelo, Ke ao mai nei kela po i keia po i ka ike.
3 There is no speech, and there are no words. Their voice has not been heard.
Aohe leo, aohe olelo; Aohe i lohea ko lakou leo.
4 Their line has gone forth into all the earth, And their sayings to the end of the world, In them He placed a tent for the sun,
Ua pae aku la ka lakou ao ana i na aina a pau. Ua hiki aku la ka lakou olelo i na welau o ka honua: Maloko o lakou i kukulu ai oia i halelewa no ka la;
5 And he, as a bridegroom, goes out from his covering, He rejoices as a mighty one To run the path.
Ua like no ia me ke kane mare e puka mai ana mai kona keena: Ua olioli ia me he kanaka ikaika la e heihei ana.
6 From the end of the heavens [is] his going out, And his revolution [is] to their ends, And nothing is hid from his heat.
Mai ka welau mai o ka lani kona hele ana; A ua hiki kona poai ana i na welelau o ke ao: Aole mea i hunaia i kona wela.
7 The law of YHWH [is] perfect, refreshing the soul, The testimonies of YHWH [are] steadfast, Making the simple wise,
O ko kanawai o Iehova, he hemolele no ia, e hoohuli ana i ka uhane: O ka olelo a Iehova, he oiaio no ia, e hoonaauao ana i ka mea naaupo.
8 The precepts of YHWH [are] upright, Rejoicing the heart, The command of YHWH [is] pure, enlightening the eyes,
O na kapu o Iehova, he maikai no ia, e hoohauoli ana i ka naau; O ke kauoha a Iehova, he laelae no ia, e hoomalamalama ana i na maka.
9 The fear of YHWH [is] clean, standing for all time, The judgments of YHWH [are] true, They have been righteous—together.
O ka makau ia Iehova, he maemae no ia, e oia mau ana no; O na oihana a Iehova, he pololei no ia, a me ka pono wale io no.
10 They are more desirable than gold, Indeed, than much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, Even liquid honey of the comb.
He mau mea ia e makemake nui ia, aole ke gula, aole hoi ke gula maikai he nui wale; Ua oi aku ko lakou ono i ko ka meli a me ka waihona meli.
11 Also—Your servant is warned by them, “In keeping them [is] a great reward.”
A, ua aoia mai no hoi kau kauwa e lakou; No ka malama ana ia lakou he nui wale ka waiwai.
12 [His] errors—who understands? Declare me innocent from hidden ones,
Owai ka mea i helu pono i kona lalau ana? E hoomaemae oe ia'u i na hewa i nalo.
13 Also—keep back Your servant from presumptuous ones, Do not let them rule over me, Then I am perfect, And declared innocent of much transgression.
E kaohi mai oe i kau kauwa mai na hewa nui, i pio ole ai au ia lakou; Alaila e kupono au, a e kaawale hoi au i ka hewa loa.
14 Let the sayings of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, Be for a pleasing thing before You, O YHWH, my rock, and my redeemer!
I maikai ka olelo a ko'u waha, a me ka manao o ko'u naau, Imua o kou alo, e Iehova, e ko'u Ikaika, a me ko'u Hoola.
