< Psalms 142 >
1 AN INSTRUCTION OF DAVID. A PRAYER WHEN HE IS IN THE CAVE. My voice [is] to YHWH, I cry, My voice [is] to YHWH, I beg [for] grace.
Ko e Saame akonaki ʻa Tevita. Ko ʻene Lotu ʻi he ʻana. Naʻaku tangi kia Sihova ʻaki hoku leʻo; ne u kole tāumaʻu kia Sihova ʻaki hoku leʻo.
2 I pour forth my meditation before Him, I declare my distress before Him.
Naʻaku lilingi ʻeku fakakaukau ʻi hono ʻao; ne u fakahā ʻi hono ʻao ʻeku mamahi.
3 When my spirit has been feeble in me, Then You have known my path; In the way [in] which I walk, They have hid a snare for me.
ʻI he taʻomia ʻa hoku laumālie, ne ke ʻilo ai hoku ʻaluʻanga. ʻI he hala ne u ʻeveʻeva ai kuo nau ʻai fufū ʻae tauhele kiate au.
4 Looking on the right hand—and seeing, And I have none recognizing; Refuge has perished from me, There is none inquiring for my soul.
5 I have cried to you, O YHWH, I have said, “You [are] my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.”
Naʻaku tangi kiate koe, ʻE Sihova; ne u pehē, Ko koe ko hoku hūfanga, mo hoku ʻinasi ʻi he fonua ʻoe moʻui.
6 Attend to my loud cry, For I have become very low, Deliver me from my pursuers, For they have been stronger than I.
Ke ke tokanga ki heʻeku tangi; he ʻoku ou vaivai ʻaupito: fakamoʻui au mei hoku kau fakatanga; he ʻoku nau mālohi hake kiate au.
7 Bring forth my soul from prison to confess Your Name, The righteous surround me about, When You confer benefits on me!
ʻOmi hoku laumālie mei he fale fakapōpula, koeʻuhi ke u fakamālō ai ki ho huafa: ʻe kāpui au ʻe he angatonu; he te ke fai lelei lahi kiate au.
