< Psalms 142 >
1 AN INSTRUCTION OF DAVID. A PRAYER WHEN HE IS IN THE CAVE. My voice [is] to YHWH, I cry, My voice [is] to YHWH, I beg [for] grace.
KAHEA aku la au ia Iehova, i ko'u leo, Me ko'u leo hoi i nonoi aku ai au ia Iehova.
2 I pour forth my meditation before Him, I declare my distress before Him.
Ninini aku la au i ko'u kaniuhu imua ona, A hoike aku la no hoi i ko'u pilikia ma kona alo.
3 When my spirit has been feeble in me, Then You have known my path; In the way [in] which I walk, They have hid a snare for me.
I ka maule ana o ko'u uhane iloko o'u, Alaila ike pono no oe i ko'u alanui. Ma ke ala a'u i hele aku ai, hana lakou i hei no'u.
4 Looking on the right hand—and seeing, And I have none recognizing; Refuge has perished from me, There is none inquiring for my soul.
Nana aku la au ma ka lima akau, a ike hoi, Aohe mea i ike mai ia'u; Ua pau na wahi e pakele ai; Aohe mea i manao mai i ko'u uhane.
5 I have cried to you, O YHWH, I have said, “You [are] my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.”
Kahea aku la au ia oe, e Iehova, I aku la, O oe no ko'u paku, O kuu puu waiwai hoi ma ka aina o ka poe ola.
6 Attend to my loud cry, For I have become very low, Deliver me from my pursuers, For they have been stronger than I.
E hoolohe mai oe i ko'u uwe ana, no ka mea, ua hoopilikia loa ia au: E hoopakele mai oe ia'u i ka poe hoomaau mai, No ka mea, na oi aku ko lakou ikaika i ko'u.
7 Bring forth my soul from prison to confess Your Name, The righteous surround me about, When You confer benefits on me!
E hoopuka aku oe i ko'u uhane iwaho o ka hale paahao, I hoomililani aku au i kou inoa; E kaapuni mai ka poe pono ia'u, No ka mea, e hana maikai mai oe ia'u.
