Psalms 14

1 TO THE OVERSEER. BY DAVID. A fool has said in his heart, “There is no God”; They have done corruptly, They have done abominable actions, There is not a doer of good.

Mai marelui muzician, un psalm al lui David. Nebunul a spus în inima lui: Nu este Dumnezeu. Sunt corupți și au făcut fapte scârboase, niciunul nu face binele.

2 YHWH has looked from the heavens on the sons of men, To see if there is a wise one—seeking God.

DOMNUL a privit din cer peste copiii oamenilor, să vadă dacă sunt unii care înțeleg și caută pe Dumnezeu.

3 The whole have turned aside, Together they have been filthy: There is not a doer of good, not even one.

Toți s-au abătut, toți împreună s-au murdărit, nu este niciunul care să facă binele, nu, niciunul măcar.

4 Have all working iniquity not known? Those consuming my people have eaten bread, They have not called YHWH.

Nu au cunoaștere toți lucrătorii nelegiuirii? Care mănâncă pe poporul meu precum mănâncă pâine, și care nu cheamă pe DOMNUL.

5 They have feared a fear there, For God [is] in the generation of the righteous.

Acolo au fost în mare frică, fiindcă Dumnezeu este în mijlocul generației celui drept.

6 You cause the counsel of the poor to stink, Because YHWH [is] his refuge.

Ați făcut de rușine sfatul celui sărac, pentru că DOMNUL este locul lui de scăpare.

7 “Who gives the salvation of Israel from Zion?” When YHWH turns back [To] a captivity of His people, Jacob rejoices—Israel is glad!

O, dacă salvarea lui Israel ar veni din Sion! Când DOMNUL aduce înapoi pe captivii poporului său, Iacob se va bucura și Israel se va veseli.
