< Psalms 14 >

1 TO THE OVERSEER. BY DAVID. A fool has said in his heart, “There is no God”; They have done corruptly, They have done abominable actions, There is not a doer of good.

2 YHWH has looked from the heavens on the sons of men, To see if there is a wise one—seeking God.
Thaikophaih tawn kami hoi Sithaw pakrong kami oh maw tiah hnuk hanah, Sithaw mah van hoiah kami capanawk to khet tathuk.
3 The whole have turned aside, Together they have been filthy: There is not a doer of good, not even one.
Kaminawk loe loklam amkhraeng o boih, nihcae loe panuet thok ah oh o boih boeh: kahoih hmuen sah kami maeto doeh om ai, om roe om ai, maeto doeh om ai.
4 Have all working iniquity not known? Those consuming my people have eaten bread, They have not called YHWH.
Takaw a caak o baktih toengah, kai ih kaminawk to a caak o; zaehaih sah kaminawk boih loe panoekhaih tawn ai ah maw oh o?
5 They have feared a fear there, For God [is] in the generation of the righteous.
Katoeng kaminawk khaeah Sithaw oh pongah, nihcae loe paroeai zithaih hoiah koi o.
6 You cause the counsel of the poor to stink, Because YHWH [is] his refuge.
Angraeng loe amtang kaminawk abuephaih ah oh pongah, amtang kaminawk atimhaih to na paro pae o.
7 “Who gives the salvation of Israel from Zion?” When YHWH turns back [To] a captivity of His people, Jacob rejoices—Israel is glad!
