< Psalms 125 >
1 A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. Those trusting in YHWH [are] as Mount Zion, It is not moved—it abides for all time.
“A song of the degrees.” Those who trust in the Lord are like mount Zion, which will not he moved, which endureth for ever.
2 Jerusalem! Mountains [are] around her, And YHWH [is] around His people, From now on—even for all time.
Jerusalem hath mountains round about her: and [so] is the Lord round about his people, from this time forth and for evermore.
3 For the rod of wickedness does not rest on the lot of the righteous, That the righteous do not put forth their hands on iniquity.
For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous: in order that the righteous may not stretch forth their hands unto wrong-doing.
4 Do good, O YHWH, to the good, And to the upright in their hearts.
Do good, O Lord, unto the good, and to those that are upright in their hearts.
5 As for those turning [to] their crooked ways, YHWH causes them to go with workers of iniquity. Peace on Israel!
But as for those who turn aside unto their crooked ways, them will the Lord drive away with the workers of wickedness; but peace shall be upon Israel.
