< Psalms 121 >
1 A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. I lift up my eyes to the hills, From where does my help come?
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help [is] from YHWH, Maker of the heavens and earth,
My help cometh from Yhwh, which made heaven and earth.
3 He does not permit your foot to be moved, He who is preserving you does not slumber.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, He does not slumber, nor sleep, He who is preserving Israel.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 YHWH [is] He who is preserving you, YHWH [is] your shade on your right hand,
Yhwh is thy keeper: Yhwh is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 By day the sun does not strike you, Nor the moon by night.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 YHWH preserves you from all evil, He preserves your soul.
Yhwh shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 YHWH preserves your going out and your coming in, From now on—even for all time!
Yhwh shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
