Psalms 111

1 Praise YAH! [ALEPH-BET] I thank YHWH with the whole heart, In the secret meeting of the upright, And of the congregation.

Lobet Jah! / Auf! Jahwe will ich preisen mit ganzem Herzen / Beisammen mit Redlichen und der Gemeinde.

2 Great [are] the works of YHWH, Sought out by all desiring them.

Groß sind die Werke Jahwes, / Durchforschenswert für alle, die daran Gefallen finden.

3 Splendid and majestic is His work, And His righteousness is standing forever.

Hoheit und Glanz offenbart sein Tun. / Währt seine Gerechtigkeit nicht ewig?

4 He has made a memorial of His wonders, YHWH [is] gracious and merciful.

Seiner Wunder Gedächtnis hat er gestiftet. / Gnädig und voll Erbarmen ist Jahwe.

5 He has given prey to those fearing Him, He remembers His covenant for all time.

Treu hat er Speise den Seinen gegeben; / Ja, immer gedachte er seines Bunds.

6 He has declared the power of His works to His people, To give to them the inheritance of nations.

Kraftvolle Werke tat er seinem Volke kund, / Ließ sie besitzen der Heiden Erbe.

7 The works of His hands [are] true and just, All His appointments [are] steadfast.

Machttaten seiner Hände sind Treue und Recht, / Nimmer täuschen all seine Befehle.

8 They are sustained forever and for all time. They are made in truth and uprightness.

Sie bleiben fest für immer und ewig, / Auf Treue und Geradheit sind sie gegründet.

9 He has sent redemption to His people, He has appointed His covenant for all time, His Name [is] holy and fearful.

Freiheit sandte er seinem Volk; / Zu seinem Bund rief er es für immer. / Kann sein Name wohl anders als heilig sein und ehrfurchtgebietend?

10 The fear of YHWH [is] the beginning of wisdom, Good understanding have all doing them, His praise [is] standing forever!

Rechter Weisheit Anfang ist Furcht vor Jahwe. / Sie, die sie üben, zeigen treffliche Einsicht, / Tragen dauerndes Lob davon.
