Psalms 106
1 Praise YAH, give thanks to YHWH, for [He is] good, for His kindness [is] for all time!
| هَلِّلُويَا. قَدِّمُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ فَإِنَّهُ صَالِحٌ، لأَنَّ رَحْمَتَهُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ تَدُومُ. | ١ |
2 Who utters the mighty acts of YHWH? Sounds all His praise?
| مَنْ ذَا يُحَدِّثُ بِأَفْعَالِ الرَّبِّ الْجَبَّارَةِ، وَيُخْبِرُ بِكُلِّ تَسْبِيحِهِ؟ | ٢ |
3 O the blessedness of those keeping judgment, Doing righteousness at all times.
| طُوبَى لِلْعَامِلِينَ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْبِرِّ فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ. | ٣ |
4 Remember me, O YHWH, With the favor of Your people, Look after me in Your salvation.
| يَا رَبُّ، اذْكُرْنِي فِي رِضَاكَ عَلَى شَعْبِكَ. تَعَهَّدْنِي بِخَلاصِكَ. | ٤ |
5 To look on the good of Your chosen ones, To rejoice in the joy of Your nation, To boast myself with Your inheritance.
| لِكَيْ أَشْهَدَ نَجَاحَ مُخْتَارِيكَ وَلأَفْرَحَ بِفَرَحِ أُمَّتِكَ، وَأَفْتَخِرَ مَعَ مِيرَاثِكَ. | ٥ |
6 We have sinned with our fathers, We have done perversely, we have done wickedly.
| قَدْ أَخْطَأْنَا مَعَ آبَائِنَا وَارْتَكَبْنَا الإِثْمَ وَالشَّرَّ. | ٦ |
7 Our fathers in Egypt, Have not considered wisely Your wonders, They have not remembered The abundance of Your kind acts, And provoke by the sea, at the Sea of Suph.
| لَمْ يَفْهَمْ آبَاؤُنَا فِي مِصْرَ عَجَائِبَكَ، وَلَمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوا وَفْرَةَ مَرَاحِمِكَ، بَلْ تَمَرَّدُوا عَلَيْكَ عِنْدَ الْبَحْرِ الأَحْمَرِ. | ٧ |
8 And He saves them for His Name’s sake, To make His might known,
| لَكِنَّكَ خَلَّصْتَهُمْ مِنْ أَجْلِ اسْمِكَ إِعْلاناً لِقُوَّتِكَ الْعَظِيمَةِ. | ٨ |
9 And rebukes the Sea of Suph, and it is dried up, And causes them to go Through depths as a wilderness.
| انْتَهَرْتَ الْبَحْرَ الأَحْمَرَ، فَجَفَّ، وَاجْتَزْتَ بِهِمْ عَبْرَ اللُّجَجِ كَأَنَّهُمْ عَلَى أَرْضٍ جَافَّةٍ | ٩ |
10 And He saves them from the hand Of him who is hating, And redeems them from the hand of the enemy.
| أَنْقَذْتَهُمْ مِنْ يَدِ مُبْغِضِيهِمْ وَافْتَدَيْتَهُمْ مِنْ قَبْضَةِ الْعَدُوِّ. | ١٠ |
11 And waters cover their adversaries, One of them has not been left.
| غَمَرَتِ الْمِيَاهُ مُطَارِدِيهِمْ حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهُمْ وَاحِدٌ. | ١١ |
12 And they believe in His words, they sing His praise,
| عِنْدَئِذٍ آمَنُوا بِكَلامِهِ وَشَدُوا بِتَسْبِيحِهِ. | ١٢ |
13 They have hurried—forgotten His works, They have not waited for His counsel.
| وَلَكِنْ سَرْعَانَ مَا نَسُوا أَعْمَالَهُ! لَمْ يَنْتَظِرُوا مَشُورَتَهُ. | ١٣ |
14 And they lust greatly in a wilderness, And try God in a desert.
| بَلِ انْصَاعُوا لِشَهْوَتِهِمِ الشَّدِيدَةِ فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ، وَتَحَدَّوْا اللهَ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ. | ١٤ |
15 And He gives to them their request, And sends leanness into their soul.
| فَلَبَّى سُؤْلَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّهُ أَصَابَ نُفُوسَهُمْ بِالسُّقْمِ. | ١٥ |
16 And they are envious of Moses in the camp, Of Aaron, YHWH’s holy one.
| ثُمَّ حَسَدُوا مُوسَى فِي الْمُخَيَّمِ، وَأَيْضاً هَارُونَ المُقَدَّسَ لِلرَّبِّ. | ١٦ |
17 Earth opens, and swallows up Dathan, And covers over the company of Abiram.
| انْفَتَحَتِ الأَرْضُ وَابْتَلَعَتْ دَاثَانَ، وَأَطْبَقَتْ عَلَى قَوْمِ أَبِيرَامَ. | ١٧ |
18 And fire burns among their company, A flame sets the wicked on fire.
| وَاشْتَعَلَتْ نَارٌ وَسَطَ جَمَاعَةِ قُورَحَ، أَحْرَقَ لَهِيبُهَا الأَشْرَارَ. | ١٨ |
19 They make a calf in Horeb, And bow themselves to a molten image,
| صَاغُوا عِجْلاً فِي حُورِيبَ، وَسَجَدُوا لِتِمْثَالٍ مَسْبُوكٍ. | ١٩ |
20 And change their glory Into the form of an ox eating herbs.
| اسْتَبْدَلُوا إِلَهَهُمُ الْمَجِيدَ بِصُورَةِ ثَوْرٍ آكِلِ عُشْبٍ. | ٢٠ |
21 They have forgotten God their Savior, The doer of great things in Egypt,
| نَسُوا اللهَ مُخَلِّصَهُمُ الَّذِي صَنَعَ الْعَظَائِمَ فِي مِصْرَ، | ٢١ |
22 Of wonderful things in the land of Ham, Of fearful things by the Sea of Suph.
| الْمُعْجِزَاتِ فِي أَرْضِ حَامٍ، وَالآيَاتِ الْمُخِيفَةَ عِنْدَ الْبَحْرِ الأَحْمَرِ. | ٢٢ |
23 And He commands to destroy them, Unless Moses, His chosen one, Had stood in the breach before Him, To turn back His wrath from destroying.
| فَأَوْشَكَ أَنْ يُبِيدَهُمْ كَقَوْلِهِ، لَوْلَا أَنَّ مُوسَى مُخْتَارَهُ وَقَفَ فِي الثَّغْرَةِ أَمَامَهُ يَشْفَعُ فِيهِمْ لِيَرُدَّ غَضَبَهُ فَلَا يُهْلِكَهُمْ. | ٢٣ |
24 And they kick against the desirable land, They have not given credence to His word.
| ثُمَّ اسْتَهَانُوا بِالأَرْضِ الشَّهِيَّةِ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقُوا كَلامَ الرَّبِّ. | ٢٤ |
25 And they murmur in their tents, They have not listened to the voice of YHWH.
| بَلْ تَذَمَّرُوا دَاخِلَ خِيَامِهِمْ، غَيْرَ مُنْصِتِينَ لِصَوْتِ الرَّبِّ. | ٢٥ |
26 And He lifts up His hand to them, To cause them to fall in a wilderness,
| فَأَقْسَمَ أَنْ يُهْلِكَهُمْ فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ، | ٢٦ |
27 And to cause their seed to fall among nations, And to scatter them through lands.
| يُسْقِطَ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ بَيْنَ الأُمَمِ، وَيُشَتِّتَهُمْ فِي البُلْدَانِ. | ٢٧ |
28 And they are coupled to Ba‘al-Peor, And eat the sacrifices of the dead,
| وَتَعَلَّقُوا بِبَعْلِ فَغُورَ وَأَكَلُوا ذَبَائِحَ الْمَوْتَى. | ٢٨ |
29 And they provoke to anger by their actions, And a plague breaks forth on them,
| وَأَثَارُوا غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ بِأَعْمَالِهِمِ الشِّرِّيرَةِ، فَتَفَشَّى بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَأٌ مُفَاجِئٌ. | ٢٩ |
30 And Phinehas stands, and executes judgment, And the plague is restrained,
| فَوَقَفَ فِينَحَاسُ وَأَجْرَى الْقَضَاءَ، فَامْتَنَعَ الْوَبَأُ. | ٣٠ |
31 And it is reckoned to him for righteousness, From generation to generation—for all time.
| فَحُسِبَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ بِرّاً جِيلاً فَجِيلاً إِلَى الأَبَدِ. | ٣١ |
32 And they cause wrath by the waters of Meribah, And it is evil to Moses for their sakes,
| ثُمَّ أَسْخَطُوا الرَّبَّ عِنْدَ مِيَاهِ مَرِيبَةَ (أَي الْخُصُومَةِ) حَتَّى تَأَذَّى مُوسَى بِسَبَبِهِمْ، | ٣٢ |
33 For they have provoked his spirit, And he speaks wrongfully with his lips.
| إِذِ اسْتَفَزُّوا رُوحَهُ فَأَفْرَطَتْ شَفَتَاهُ بِالكَلامِ. | ٣٣ |
34 They have not destroyed the peoples, As YHWH had commanded to them,
| لَمْ يَسْتَأْصِلُوا الشُّعُوبَ مِثْلَمَا أَمَرَهُمُ الرَّبُّ. | ٣٤ |
35 And mix themselves among nations, and learn their works,
| بَلْ خَالَطُوا الأُمَمَ الْوَثَنِيَّةَ وَتَعَلَّمُوا أَعْمَالَهُمْ. | ٣٥ |
36 And serve their idols, And they are for a snare to them.
| تَعَبَّدُوا لأَوْثَانِهِمْ فَصَارَتْ لَهُمْ فَخّاً. | ٣٦ |
37 And they sacrifice their sons and their daughters to the demons,
| ضَحَّوْا بِأَبْنَائِهِمْ وَبَنَاتِهِمْ لِلشَّيَاطِينِ. | ٣٧ |
38 And they shed innocent blood—Blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they have sacrificed to idols of Canaan, And the land is profaned with blood.
| سَفَكُوا دَماً بَرِيئاً، دَمَ بَنِيهِمْ وَبَنَاتِهِمِ الَّذِينَ ذَبَحُوهُمْ لأَصْنَامِ الْكَنْعَانِيِّينَ، فَتَدَنَّسَتِ الأَرْضُ بِالدِّمَاءِ. | ٣٨ |
39 And they are defiled with their works, And commit whoredom in their habitual doings.
| لِذَلِكَ تَنَجَّسُوا بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ، وَخَانُوا الرَّبَّ بِأَفْعَالِهِمْ | ٣٩ |
40 And the anger of YHWH Is kindled against His people, And He detests His inheritance.
| فَالْتَهَبَ غَضَبُ الرَّبِّ عَلَى شَعْبِهِ، وَمَقَتَ مِيرَاثَهُ. | ٤٠ |
41 And gives them into the hand of nations, And those hating them rule over them,
| وَأَسْلَمَهُمْ إِلَى أَيْدِي الأُمَمِ، فَتَسَلَّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُبْغِضُوهُمْ. | ٤١ |
42 And their enemies oppress them, And they are humbled under their hand.
| وَضَايَقَهُمْ أَعْدَاؤُهُمْ حَتَّى ذَلُّوا تَحْتَ أَيْدِيهِمْ. | ٤٢ |
43 He delivers them many times, And they rebel in their counsel, And they are brought low in their iniquity.
| مَرَّاتٍ كَثِيرَةً أَنْقَذَهُمْ، أَمَّا هُمْ فَعَصَوْهُ وَانْحَطُّوا فِي آثَامِهِمْ. | ٤٣ |
44 And He looks on their distress When He hears their cry,
| غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ الْتَفَتَ إِلَى ضِيقَتِهِمْ إِذْ سَمِعَ صُرَاخَهُمْ. | ٤٤ |
45 And remembers His covenant for them, And is comforted, According to the abundance of His kindness.
| تَذَكَّرَ عَهْدَهُ لَهُمْ وَرَقَّ لَهُمْ حَسَبَ كَثْرَةِ رَحْمَتِهِ، | ٤٥ |
46 And He appoints them for mercies Before all their captors.
| فَأَنَالَهُمْ حُظْوَةً لَدَى جَمِيعِ آسِرِيهِمْ. | ٤٦ |
47 Save us, O our God YHWH, and gather us from the nations, To give thanks to Your Holy Name, To glory in Your praise.
| خَلِّصْنَا أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ إِلَهُنَا، وَاجْمَعْ شَمْلَنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ الأُمَمِ لِنَرْفَعَ الشُّكْرَ لاسْمِكَ الْقُدُّوسِ وَنَفْتَخِرَ بِتَسْبِيحِكَ. | ٤٧ |
48 Blessed [is] YHWH, God of Israel, From age until age. And all the people said, “Amen, praise YAH!”
| مُبَارَكٌ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الأَزَلِ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. وَلْيَقُلِ الشَّعْبُ كُلُّهُ: آمِين. هَلِّلُويَا. | ٤٨ |
