Psalms 1

1 O the blessedness of that one, Who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked, And has not stood in the way of sinners, And has not sat in the seat of scorners;

தீயவர்களின் அறிவுரையின்படி நடவாமல், பாவிகளின் வழியில் நில்லாமல், பரிகாசக்காரருடன் உட்காராமல்,

2 But his delight [is] in the Law of YHWH, And in His law he meditates by day and by night:

யெகோவாவினுடைய சட்டத்திலே மனமகிழ்ச்சியாயிருந்து, இரவும் பகலும் அவருடைய வேதத்தை தியானிக்கிறவர் ஆசீர்வதிக்கபட்டவர்.

3 And he has been as a tree, Planted by streams of water, That gives its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither, And all that he does he causes to prosper.

அப்படிப்பட்டவர் நீரோடைகளின் அருகே நாட்டப்பட்டு, பருவகாலத்தில் தன் பழங்களைக் கொடுத்து, இலை உதிராதிருக்கும் மரத்தைப்போல இருக்கிறார். அவர் செய்வதெல்லாம் செழிக்கும்.

4 Not so the wicked: But [they are] as chaff that wind drives away!

தீயவர்களோ அப்படியல்ல, அவர்கள் காற்றினால் அடித்துச் செல்லப்படும் பதரைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

5 Therefore the wicked do not rise in judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous,

ஆகையால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின்போது தீயவர் தப்புவதில்லை, பாவிகளுக்கு நீதிமான்களின் கூட்டத்தில் இடமுமில்லை.

6 For YHWH is knowing the way of the righteous, And the way of the wicked is lost!

ஏனெனில் நீதிமான்களின் வழியை யெகோவா கண்காணிக்கிறார்; தீயவர்களின் வழியோ அழிவுக்குக் கொண்டுசெல்லும்.
