< Proverbs 9 >

1 Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her pillars—seven.

2 She has slaughtered her slaughter, She has mingled her wine, Indeed, she has arranged her table.
Ak khqin ce him nawh misurtui ce tloeih nawh ak caboei ce phaih hy.
3 She has sent forth her girls, She cries on the tops of the high places of the city:
A bibikung nula khqi ce tyi khqi nawh, khawkkhui a sangnaak hynna cet unawh kyy uhy.
4 “Who [is] simple? Let him turn aside here.” Whoever lacks heart: she has said to him,
“Cyihnaak amak ta khqi boeih vebenna law lah uh,” tinawh siimnaak amak ta khqi ce khyy khqi hy.
5 “Come, eat of my bread, And drink of the wine I have mingled.
“Law unawh taw, ka buh ai unawh kak tloeih cee misurtui ce aw lah uh.
6 Forsake the simple and live, And be blessed in the way of understanding.”
Aw nangmih thlakqawkhqi aw qaawnaak lam ce cehtaak unawh hqing lah uh; siimnak lamawh ce cet lah uh,” ti hy.
7 The instructor of a scorner Is receiving for it—shame, And a reprover of the wicked—his blemish.
Thlaktlai ak toel kung ing chah pyi lat nawh, thlakche ak ho kung ing kut zaawk lat hy.
8 Do not reprove a scorner, lest he hate you, Give reproof to the wise, and he loves you.
Thlaktlai ce koeh toel, ni sawh na kaw, thlakcyi mah toel, anih ing ni lung na kaw.
9 Give to the wise, and he is wiser still, Make known to the righteous, And he increases learning.
Thlakcyi ce toel lah, a cyihnaak pung khqoet kaw; thlakcyi ce cawngpyi lah, a simnaak ing pung khqoet kaw.
10 The commencement of wisdom [is] the fear of YHWH, And a knowledge of the Holy Ones [is] understanding.
Bawipa kqihchahnaak taw cyihnaak a kungpyina awm nawh, ak ciim siimnaak cetaw zaaksimnaakna awm hy.
11 For by me your days multiply, And years of life are added to you.
Kaih caming na khawkum pung khqoet kawm saw, na hqingnak khawnghii ing sau khqoet kaw.
12 If you have been wise, you have been wise for yourself, And you have scorned—you bear [it] alone.
Na cyih awhtaw, namah ham nak cyina awm kawm saw, thlaktlaina na awm awhtaw namah ing zaawk kawp ti.
13 A foolish woman [is] noisy, Simple, and has not known what.
Nukche ing akut am khoem poek nawh, a khawboe see nawh, am cyi hy.
14 And she has sat at the opening of her house, On a throne—the high places of the city,
A im chawmkengawh ngawi nawh, khawkkhui hynsang ngawihnaak awhce ngawi nawh,
15 To call to those passing by the way, Who are going straight [on] their paths.
A mimah lamawh ak cet khqi ce khy khqi nawh,
16 “Who [is] simple? Let him turn aside here.” And whoever lacks heart—she said to him,
“Khaw amak simkhqi boeih vena law seh,” ti nawh khyy hy. Siimthainaak amak ta khqi venawh bai,
17 “Stolen waters are sweet, And hidden bread is pleasant.”
“Quuk tui taw aawi dikdik nawh, quuk buh ai taw aawp hy,” ti hy
18 And he has not known that Rephaim [are] there, Her invited ones in deep places of Sheol! (Sheol h7585)
