Proverbs 8
1 Does wisdom not call? And understanding give forth her voice?
क्या ज्ञान आह्वान नहीं करता? क्या समझ उच्च स्वर में नहीं पुकारती?
2 At the head of high places by the way, She has stood between the paths,
वह गलियों के ऊंचे मार्ग पर, चौराहों पर जाकर खड़ी हो जाती है;
3 At the side of the gates, at the mouth of the city, The entrance of the openings, she cries aloud,
वह नगर प्रवेश द्वार के सामने खड़ी रहती है, उसके द्वार के सामने खड़ी होकर वह उच्च स्वर में पुकारती रहती है:
4 “To you, O men, I call, And my voice [is] to the sons of men.
“मनुष्यो, मैं तुम्हें संबोधित कर रही हूं; मेरी पुकार मनुष्यों की सन्तति के लिए है.
5 Understand, you simple ones, prudence, And you fools, understand the heart,
साधारण सरल व्यक्तियो, चतुराई सीख लो; अज्ञानियो, बुद्धिमत्ता सीख लो.
6 Listen, for I speak noble things, And the opening of my lips [is] uprightness.
क्योंकि मैं तुम पर उत्कृष्ट बातें प्रकट करूंगी; मेरे मुख से वही सब निकलेगा जो सुसंगत ही है,
7 For my mouth utters truth, And wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips.
क्योंकि मेरे मुख से मात्र सत्य ही निकलेगा, मेरे होंठों के लिए दुष्टता घृणास्पद है.
8 All the sayings of my mouth [are] in righteousness, Nothing in them is contrary and perverse.
मेरे मुख से निकला हर एक शब्द धर्ममय ही होता है; उनमें न तो छल-कपट होता है, न ही कोई उलट फेर का विषय.
9 All of them [are] plain to the intelligent, And upright to those finding knowledge.
जिस किसी ने इनका मूल्य पहचान लिया है, उनके लिए ये उपयुक्त हैं, और जिन्हें ज्ञान की उपलब्धि हो चुकी है, उनके लिए ये उत्तम हैं.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold.
चांदी के स्थान पर मेरी शिक्षा को संग्रहीत करो, वैसे ही उत्कृष्ट स्वर्ण के स्थान पर ज्ञान को,
11 For wisdom [is] better than rubies, Indeed, all delights are not comparable with it.
क्योंकि ज्ञान रत्नों से अधिक कीमती है, और तुम्हारे द्वारा अभिलाषित किसी भी वस्तु से इसकी तुलना नहीं की जा सकती.
12 I, wisdom, have dwelt with prudence, And I find out a knowledge of purposes.
“मैं ज्ञान हूं और व्यवहार कुशलता के साथ मेरा सह अस्तित्व है, मेरे पास ज्ञान और विवेक है.
13 The fear of YHWH [is] to hate evil; Pride, and arrogance, and an evil way, And a contrary mouth, I have hated.
पाप से घृणा ही याहवेह के प्रति श्रद्धा है; मुझे घृणा है अहंकार, गर्वोक्ति, बुराई तथा छलपूर्ण बातों से.
14 Counsel and substance [are] mine, I [am] understanding, I have might.
मुझमें ही परामर्श है, सद्बुद्धि है; मुझमें समझ है, मुझमें शक्ति निहित है.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree righteousness,
मेरे द्वारा राजा शासन करते हैं, मेरे ही द्वारा वे न्याय संगत निर्णय लेते हैं.
16 By me chiefs rule, and nobles, All judges of earth.
मेरे द्वारा ही शासक शासन करते हैं, और समस्त न्यायाध्यक्ष मेरे द्वारा ही न्याय करते हैं.
17 I love those loving me, And those seeking me earnestly find me.
जिन्हें मुझसे प्रेम है, वे सभी मुझे भी प्रिय हैं, जो मुझे खोजते हैं, मुझे प्राप्त भी कर लेते हैं.
18 Wealth and honor [are] with me, Lasting substance and righteousness.
मेरे साथ ही संलग्न हैं समृद्धि और सम्मान इनके साथ ही चिरस्थायी निधि तथा धार्मिकता.
19 My fruit [is] better than gold, even fine gold, And my increase than choice silver.
मेरा फल स्वर्ण से, हां, उत्कृष्ट स्वर्ण से उत्तम; तथा जो कुछ मुझसे निकलता है, वह चांदी से उत्कृष्ट है.
20 I cause to walk in a path of righteousness, In midst of paths of judgment,
धार्मिकता मेरा मार्ग है, जिस पर मैं चालचलन करता हूं, न्यायशीलता ही मेरा मार्ग है,
21 To cause my lovers to inherit substance, Indeed, I fill their treasures.
परिणामस्वरूप, जिन्हें मुझसे प्रेम है, उन्हें धन प्राप्त हो जाता है और उनके भण्डारगृह परिपूर्ण भरे रहते हैं.
22 YHWH possessed me—the beginning of His way, Before His works since then.
“जब याहवेह ने सृष्टि की रचना प्रारंभ की, इसके पूर्व कि वह किसी वस्तु की सृष्टि करते, मैं उनके साथ था;
23 I was anointed from the age, from the first, From former states of the earth.
युगों पूर्व ही, सर्वप्रथम, पृथ्वी के अस्तित्व में आने के पूर्व ही मैं अस्तित्व में था.
24 In there being no depths, I was brought forth, In there being no fountains heavy [with] waters,
महासागरों के अस्तित्व में आने के पूर्व, जब सोते ही न थे, मुझे जन्म दिया गया.
25 Before mountains were sunk, Before heights, I was brought forth.
इसके पूर्व कि पर्वतों को आकार दिया गया, और पहाड़ियां अस्तित्व में आयीं, मैं अस्तित्व में था;
26 While He had not made the earth, and out-places, And the top of the dusts of the world.
इसके पूर्व कि परमेश्वर ने पृथ्वी तथा पृथ्वी की सतह पर मैदानों की रचना की, अथवा भूमि पर सर्वप्रथम धूल देखी गई.
27 In His preparing the heavens I [am] there, In His decreeing a circle on the face of the deep,
जब परमेश्वर ने आकाशमंडल की स्थापना की, मैं अस्तित्व में था, जब उन्होंने महासागर पर क्षितिज रेखा का निर्माण किया,
28 In His strengthening clouds above, In His making strong fountains of the deep,
जब उन्होंने आकाश को हमारे ऊपर सुदृढ़ कर दिया, जब उन्होंने महासागर के सोते प्रतिष्ठित किए,
29 In His setting for the sea its limit, And the waters do not transgress His command, In His decreeing the foundations of earth,
जब उन्होंने महासागर की सीमाएं बांध दी, कि जल उनके आदेश का उल्लंघन न कर सके, जब उन्होंने पृथ्वी की नींव रेखांकित की.
30 Then I am near Him, a workman, And I am a delight—day by day. Rejoicing before Him at all times,
उस समय मैं उनके साथ साथ कार्यरत था. एक प्रधान कारीगर के समान प्रतिदिन मैं ही उनके हर्ष का कारण था, सदैव मैं उनके समक्ष आनंदित होता रहता था,
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth, And my delights [are] with the sons of men.
उनके द्वारा बसाए संसार में तथा इसके मनुष्यों में मेरा आनंद था.
32 And now, you sons, listen to me, Indeed, blessed are they who keep my ways.
“मेरे पुत्रो, ध्यान से सुनो; मेरे निर्देश सुनकर बुद्धिमान हो जाओ.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and do not slight.
इनका परित्याग कभी न करना; धन्य होते हैं वे, जो मेरी नीतियों पर चलते हैं.
34 O the blessedness of the man listening to me, To watch at my doors day by day, To watch at the doorposts of my entrance.
धन्य होता है वह व्यक्ति, जो इन शिक्षाओं के समक्ष ठहरा रहता है, जिसे द्वार पर मेरी प्रतीक्षा रहती है.
35 For whoever is finding me, has found life, And brings out goodwill from YHWH.
जिसने मुझे प्राप्त कर लिया, उसने जीवन प्राप्त कर लिया, उसने याहवेह की कृपादृष्टि प्राप्त कर ली.
36 And whoever is missing me, is wronging his soul, All hating me have loved death!”
किंतु वह, जो मुझे पाने में असफल होता है, वह स्वयं का नुकसान कर लेता है; वे सभी, जो मुझसे घृणा करते हैं, वे मृत्यु का आलिंगन करते हैं.”
