Proverbs 6
1 My son! If you have been guarantor for your friend, Have struck your hand for a stranger,
Filho meu, se ficaste por fiador do teu companheiro, se déste a tua mão ao estranho,
2 Have been snared with sayings of your mouth, Have been captured with sayings of your mouth,
Enredaste-te com as palavras da tua bocca: prendeste-te com as palavras da tua bocca.
3 Do this now, my son, and be delivered, For you have come into the hand of your friend. Go, trample on yourself, and strengthen your friend,
Faze pois isto agora, filho meu, e livra-te, pois já caiste nas mãos do teu companheiro; vae, humilha-te, e aperta com o teu companheiro.
4 Do not give sleep to your eyes, And slumber to your eyelids,
Não dês somno aos teus olhos, nem adormecimento ás tuas palpebras.
5 Be delivered as a roe from the hand, And as a bird from the hand of a fowler.
Livra-te como o corço da mão do passarinheiro.
6 Go to the ant, O slothful one, See her ways and be wise;
Vae-te á formiga, ó preguiçoso: olha para os seus caminhos, e sê sabio.
7 Which has no captain, overseer, and ruler,
A qual, não tendo superior, nem official, nem dominador,
8 She prepares her bread in summer, She has gathered her food in harvest.
Prepara no verão o seu pão: na sega ajunta o seu mantimento.
9 Until when, O slothful one, do you lie? When do you arise from your sleep?
Oh! preguiçoso, até quando ficarás deitado? quando te levantarás do teu somno?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little clasping of the hands to rest,
Um pouco de somno, um pouco tosquenejando; um pouco encruzando as mãos, para estar deitado.
11 And your poverty has come as a traveler, And your want as an armed man.
Assim te sobrevirá a tua pobreza como o caminhante, e a tua necessidade como um homem armado.
12 A man of worthlessness, a man of iniquity, Walking [with] perverseness of mouth,
O homem de Belial, o homem vicioso, anda em perversidade de bocca.
13 Winking with his eyes, speaking with his feet, Directing with his fingers,
Acena com os olhos, falla com os pés, ensina com os dedos.
14 Contrariness [is] in his heart, devising evil at all times, He sends forth contentions.
Perversidade ha no seu coração, todo o tempo maquina mal: anda semeando contendas.
15 Therefore his calamity comes suddenly, He is broken instantly—and no healing.
Pelo que a sua destruição virá repentinamente: subitamente será quebrantado, sem que haja cura.
16 These six has YHWH hated, Indeed, seven [are] abominations to His soul:
Estas seis coisas aborrece o Senhor, e sete a sua alma abomina:
17 High eyes, False tongues, And hands shedding innocent blood,
Olhos altivos, lingua mentirosa, e mãos que derramam sangue innocente:
18 A heart devising thoughts of vanity, Feet hastening to run to evil,
O coração que maquina pensamentos viciosos; pés que se apressam a correr para o mal;
19 A false witness [who] breathes out lies, And one sending forth contentions between brothers.
A testemunha falsa que respira mentiras: e o que semeia contendas entre irmãos.
20 Keep, my son, the command of your father, And do not leave the law of your mother.
Filho meu, guarda o mandamento de teu pae, e não deixes a lei de tua mãe;
21 Bind them on your heart continually, Tie them on your neck.
Ata-os perpetuamente ao teu coração, e pendura-os ao teu pescoço.
22 In your going up and down, it leads you, In your lying down, it watches over you, And you have awoken—it talks [with] you.
Quando caminhares, te guiará; quando te deitares, te guardará; quando acordares, ella fallará comtigo.
23 For the command [is] a lamp, And the Law a light, And a way of life [are] reproofs of instruction,
Porque o mandamento é uma lampada, e a lei uma luz: e as reprehensões da correcção são o caminho da vida
24 To preserve you from an evil woman, From the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
Para te guardarem da má mulher, e das lisonjas da lingua estranha.
25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart, And do not let her take you with her eyelids.
Não cubices no teu coração a sua formosura, nem te prendas com os seus olhos.
26 For a harlot consumes to a cake of bread, And an adulteress hunts the precious soul.
Porque por causa d'uma mulher prostituta se chega a pedir um bocado de pão; e a mulher dada a homens anda á caça da preciosa alma.
27 Does a man take fire into his bosom, And are his garments not burned?
Porventura tomará alguem fogo no seu seio, sem que os seus vestidos se queimem?
28 Does a man walk on the hot coals, And are his feet not scorched?
Ou andará alguem sobre as brazas, sem que se queimem os seus pés?
29 So [is] he who has gone in to the wife of his neighbor, None who touches her is innocent.
Assim será o que entrar á mulher do seu proximo: não ficará innocente todo aquelle que a tocar.
30 They do not despise the thief, When he steals to fill his soul when he is hungry,
Não injuriam ao ladrão, quando furta, para saciar a sua alma, tendo fome;
31 And being found he repays sevenfold, He gives all the substance of his house.
Mas, achado, pagará sete vezes tanto: dará toda a fazenda de sua casa.
32 He who commits adultery [with] a woman lacks heart, He who does it is destroying his soul.
Porém o que adultéra com uma mulher é falto de entendimento; destroe a sua alma, o que tal faz.
33 He finds a stroke and shame, And his reproach is not wiped away,
Achará castigo e vilipendio, e o seu opprobrio nunca se apagará.
34 For jealousy [is] the fury of a man, And he does not spare in a day of vengeance.
Porque ciumes são furores do marido, e de maneira nenhuma perdoará no dia da vingança.
35 He does not accept the appearance of any atonement, Indeed, he does not consent, Though you multiply bribes!
Nenhum resgate acceitará, nem consentirá, ainda que augmentes os presentes.
