Proverbs 29
1 A man often reproved, hardening the neck, Is suddenly broken, and there is no healing.
El que a menudo es reprendido y endurece su cuello será destruido de repente, sin remedio.
2 In the multiplying of the righteous the people rejoice, And in the ruling of the wicked the people sigh.
Cuando los justos prosperan, el pueblo se alegra; pero cuando los malvados gobiernan, el pueblo gime.
3 A man loving wisdom makes his father glad, And a friend of harlots destroys wealth.
Quien ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre; pero un compañero de prostitutas despilfarra su riqueza.
4 A king establishes a land by judgment, And one receiving gifts throws it down.
El rey, mediante la justicia, hace que la tierra sea estable, pero el que acepta sobornos lo derriba.
5 A man taking a portion above his neighbor, Spreads a net for his own steps.
El hombre que adula a su prójimo extiende una red para sus pies.
6 A snare [is] in the transgression of the evil, And the righteous sing and rejoice.
El hombre malvado está atrapado por su pecado, pero los justos pueden cantar y alegrarse.
7 The righteous knows the plea of the poor, The wicked does not understand knowledge.
Los justos se preocupan por la justicia de los pobres. Los malvados no se preocupan por el conocimiento.
8 Men of scorning ensnare a city, And the wise turn back anger.
Los burlones agitan una ciudad, pero los hombres sabios apartan la ira.
9 A wise man is judged by the foolish man, And he has been angry, And he has laughed, and there is no rest.
Si un hombre sabio va a la corte con un hombre necio, el tonto se enfurece o se burla, y no hay paz.
10 Men of blood hate the perfect, And the upright seek his soul.
Los sanguinarios odian al hombre íntegro; y buscan la vida de los rectos.
11 A fool brings out all his mind, And the wise restrains it until afterward.
Un tonto descarga toda su ira, pero un hombre sabio se controla a sí mismo.
12 A ruler who is attending to lying words, All his ministers [are] wicked.
Si un gobernante escucha las mentiras, todos sus funcionarios son malvados.
13 The poor and the man of frauds have met together, YHWH is enlightening the eyes of them both.
El pobre y el opresor tienen esto en común: Yahvé da la vista a los ojos de ambos.
14 A king that is judging the poor with truth, His throne is established forever.
El rey que juzga con justicia a los pobres, su trono se establecerá para siempre.
15 A rod and reproof give wisdom, And a youth let away is shaming his mother.
La vara de la corrección da sabiduría, pero un niño abandonado a sí mismo causa vergüenza a su madre.
16 In the multiplying of the wicked transgression multiplies, And the righteous look on their fall.
Cuando los malvados aumentan, el pecado aumenta; pero los justos verán su caída.
17 Discipline your son, and he gives you comfort, Indeed, he gives delights to your soul.
Corrige a tu hijo, y él te dará la paz; sí, traerá deleite a tu alma.
18 A people is made naked without a vision, And whoever is keeping the Law, O his blessedness!
Donde no hay revelación, el pueblo abandona la contención; pero el que guarda la ley es bendecido.
19 By words a servant is not instructed though he understand, And there is nothing answering.
Un siervo no puede ser corregido con palabras. Aunque lo entiende, no responde.
20 You have seen a man hasty in his words! More hope of a fool than of him.
¿Ves a un hombre que se precipita en sus palabras? Hay más esperanza para un tonto que para él.
21 Whoever is bringing up his servant delicately, from youth, [At] his latter end he is also continuator.
El que mima a su siervo desde la juventud hará que se convierta en un hijo al final.
22 An angry man stirs up contention, And a furious man is multiplying transgression.
Un hombre enfadado suscita conflictos, y un hombre iracundo abunda en el pecado.
23 The pride of man humbles him, And humility of spirit upholds honor.
La soberbia del hombre lo abate, pero uno de espíritu humilde gana honor.
24 Whoever is sharing with a thief is hating his own soul, He hears execration, and does not tell.
Quien es cómplice de un ladrón es enemigo de su propia alma. Presta juramento, pero no se atreve a declarar.
25 Fear of man causes a snare, And the confident in YHWH is set on high.
El miedo al hombre resulta ser una trampa, pero quien pone su confianza en Yahvé está a salvo.
26 Many are seeking the face of a ruler, And the judgment of each [is] from YHWH.
Muchos buscan el favor del gobernante, pero la justicia del hombre viene de Yahvé.
27 The perverse man [is] an abomination to the righteous, And the upright in the way [is] an abomination to the wicked!
El hombre deshonesto detesta al justo, y los rectos en sus caminos detestan a los malvados.
