< Proverbs 25 >

1 These are also proverbs of Solomon, that men of Hezekiah king of Judah transcribed:
Hiche ho jong hi Solomon thuchih jeng ahina nalai jin, Judah lengpa Hezekiah phat laija mihon ana jihdoh ahi.
2 The glory of God [is] to hide a thing, And the glory of kings [is] to search out a matter.
Thugil chintup nahi Elohim Pathen loupina ahin, chule thil kholdoh kiti jong hi lengte loupina ahi.
3 The heavens for height, and the earth for depth, And the heart of kings—[are] unsearchable.
Vanmun jouse asandan le leiset athuh bang hin, lengte lungthim sung jeng jong koiman ahedoh joupoi.
4 Take away dross from silver, And a vessel goes forth for the refiner,
Dangka'a kon in atheng lou jouse ladoh jeng in, thih khengpan bel-a khen ding atah chu aneinai.
5 Take away the wicked before a king, And his throne is established in righteousness.
Lengpa thutanna mun'a kon chun migilou chu potdoh sah jeng in, chutileh lengpa laltouna mun'a chu thudih kiphut det thei ding ahi.
6 Do not honor yourself before a king, And do not stand in the place of the great.
Lengpa angsunga nama cham in chelut dan, chule milen ang-sunga jong kikum lut jeng hih in.
7 For better [that] he has said to you, “Come up here,” Than [that] he humbles you before a noble, Whom your eyes have seen.
Hitia hi, “Hiche mun'a hin hung kal touvin,” tia min nahin kou masat ding chu thilpha ahi. Chule milen milal umna imacham tah'a lut jeng chu thilpha ahipoi.
8 Do not go forth to strive, hurry, turn, What do you do in its latter end, When your neighbor causes you to blush?
Nangman thilkhat namu jeng man in, kihehna-in achun lhut jeng hih in, ajeh chu nahehpa chun najou henlang jumtale chun achaina ipi nabol ding hitam?
9 Plead your cause with your neighbor, And do not reveal the secret counsel of another,
Hiche sang chun, naheng nakompa toh chun nachung chang thu seikhom lhon in lang, thuguh kiti phot midang hetsah hih in.
10 Lest the hearer put you to shame, And your evil report not turn back.
Ajeh chu naseidoh'a midang khattou in jataleh aja khat chun, nahinle jumso nabep ding, chuteng namin setna chu beita lou ding ahi.
11 Apples of gold in imagery of silver, [Is] the word spoken at its fit times.
Aphatcha ki hil na chu deium tah ahi, dangka bomma kikoi sana tabang ahi.
12 A ring of gold, and an ornament of pure gold, [Is] the wise reprover to an attentive ear.
Mithusei phatah'a ngaipa ding in, adih a kiphona hi sanakol le sana pah-jem tobang ahi.
13 As a vessel of snow in a day of harvest, [So is] a faithful ambassador to those sending him, And he refreshes the soul of his masters.
Tahsan thei tah sottole sol khapa ding in, hiche sottole chu chang-at laija buhbang votjen tobang ahin; hitobang sottole hi apupa lhagao lungthim sung kido jing na ahi.
14 Clouds and wind without rain, [Is] a man boasting himself in a false gift.
Thilpeh khat pe-dinga kitepna neija peloupa chu, huijin apohle meilom goa julha lou tobang ahi.
15 A ruler is persuaded by long-suffering, And a soft tongue breaks a bone.
Thoh hattah'a natoh jeh'in vaihom khat jong akithu nun jou in, o nem heova thu kiseijin gu le chang jeng jong anemsah e.
16 You have found honey—eat your sufficiency, Lest you are satiated [with] it, and have vomited it.
Khoiju naneh teng aphabep don in, ajeh chu nachim behseh ding; achaina leh naloh lhah lo ding ahi.
17 Withdraw your foot from your neighbor’s house, Lest he is satiated [with] you, and has hated you.
Naheng nakom in-sunga che behseh hih in, ajeh chu nahin thei chim lo ding ahi.
18 A maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow, [Is] the man testifying a false testimony against his neighbor.
Koi hileh aheng akom hehsea panga chu, galsat dinga mi koukhom le chemjam hemtah chule thalchanga kikap tobang ahi.
19 A bad tooth, and a tottering foot, [Is] the confidence of the treacherous in a day of adversity.
Gim le hesoh pet'a tahsan thei lou mikhat ngansena nei hi, habeija thilkhat kipet le keng phalou tollham chon-nal tobang bep ahibouve.
20 Whoever is taking away a garment in a cold day, [Is as] vinegar on natron, And a singer of songs on a sad heart.
Mi gim hesoh pet'a lasa'a chu, phalbi dap laija mi ponsil lahpeh tobang ahi.
21 If he who is hating you hungers, cause him to eat bread, And if he thirsts, cause him to drink water.
Nagalmi chu agil akel teng nehding changlhah pen, chule adang achah leh don ding twi pen.
22 For you are putting coals on his head, And YHWH gives repayment to you.
Hitia nabol pehchu alujang dim a mei-al sunpeh nahin, natoh-ga Yahweh Pakai in kipaman napeh tei ding ahi.
23 A north wind brings forth rain, And a secret tongue—indignant faces.
Sahlam khohui'in go ajuhsah jin, min adalhah nunga seisea chun lungphamo pua mi avetji ahi.
24 Better to sit on a corner of a roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions, and a house of company.
Numei phunsi khat toh in khat'a chen khom sang in, inting vum ningkoi khat'a ichangseh a chen aphajoi.
25 [As] cold waters for a weary soul, So [is] a good report from a far country.
Gam latah'a pet thupha kija chu, dangchah pet'a twi votjen kidon tobang ahi.
26 A spring troubled, and a fountain corrupt, [Is] the righteous falling before the wicked.
Mikitah khat in migilou khat pansatna ding lampi asempeh kiti chu, twisam putna le bonsan londohna twikun tobang ahi.
27 The eating of much honey is not good, Nor a searching out of one’s own honor—honor.
Khoiju tamtah don jong aphapon, chule thuphalou tampi sei jong apha ahipoi.
28 A city broken down without walls, [Is] a man without restraint over his spirit!
Ama le ama kitim joulou michu, khopi chimsa apal jouse kivo lhua kidalha bep ahi.
