< Proverbs 24 >

1 Do not be envious of evil men, And do not desire to be with them.
Teweegombanga bakozi ba bibi era tobeesemberezanga.
2 For their heart meditates [on] destruction, And their lips speak perverseness.
Kubanga emitima gyabwe giteesa kukola bya butemu, era akamwa kaabwe koogera ku kukola bya ffujjo.
3 A house is built by wisdom, And it establishes itself by understanding.
Amagezi ge gazimba ennyumba, n’okutegeera kwe kugiggumiza.
4 And the inner parts are filled by knowledge, [With] all precious and pleasant wealth.
Olw’amagezi ebisenge by’ayo bijjula ebintu ebirungi, eby’obugagga ebitalabikalabika eby’omuwendo omungi.
5 The wise [is] mighty in strength, And a man of knowledge is strengthening power,
Omuntu ow’amagezi aba n’obuyinza, n’omuntu alina okumanya yeeyongera amaanyi.
6 For you make war for yourself by plans, And deliverance [is] in a multitude of counselors.
Kubanga okulwana olutalo weetaaga okuluŋŋamizibwa, n’okuluwangula, weetaaga abawi b’amagezi bangi.
7 Wisdom [is] high for a fool, he does not open his mouth in the gate.
Amagezi gasukkirira nnyo omusirusiru, talina ky’asobola kwogera mu lukuŋŋaana olw’oku wankaaki.
8 Whoever is devising to do evil, They call him a master of wicked thoughts.
Oyo asala enkwe ez’okukola ebibi, aliyitibwa mukujjukujju.
9 The thought of folly [is] sin, And a scorner [is] an abomination to man.
Entegeka ez’obusirusiru muvaamu kwonoona, abantu beetamwa omukudaazi.
10 You have showed yourself weak in a day of adversity, Your power is restricted,
Bw’oyongobera mu kiseera eky’ebizibu, olwo ng’olina amaanyi matono!
11 If [from] delivering those taken to death, And you take back those slipping to the slaughter.
Odduukiriranga n’owonya abo abatwalibwa okuttibwa, n’abo abali ku njegoyego z’okuttibwa, obawonye okuttirwa obwemage.
12 When you say, “Behold, we did not know this.” Is the Ponderer of hearts not He who understands? And the Keeper of your soul He who knows? And He has rendered to man according to his work.
Bw’ogambanga nti, “Laba kino twali tetukimanyi,” oyo akebera emitima aba talaba? Oyo akuuma obulamu bwo takimanyi? Talisasula buli muntu ng’omulimu gwe bwe guli?
13 My son, eat honey that [is] good, And the honeycomb [is] sweet to your palate.
Mwana wange olyanga omubisi gw’enjuki kubanga mulungi, omubisi oguva mu bisenge byagwo guwoomerera.
14 So [is] the knowledge of wisdom to your soul, If you have found that there is a posterity And your hope is not cut off.
Era manya nti amagezi gawoomera emmeeme yo, bw’onoogafuna onoobeera n’essuubi mu bulamu obw’omu maaso, n’essuubi lyo teririkoma.
15 Do not lay wait, O wicked one, At the habitation of the righteous. Do not spoil his resting place.
Toteeganga, ng’omunyazi bw’akola ku nnyumba y’omutuukirivu, tonyaganga maka ge.
16 For the righteous fall and rise seven [times], And the wicked stumble in evil.
Omuntu omutuukirivu ne bw’agwa emirundi omusanvu, addamu n’ayimuka, naye abakozi b’ebibi basuulibwa mu mitawaana.
17 Do not rejoice in the falling of your enemy, And do not let your heart be joyful in his stumbling,
Tosanyukanga ng’omulabe wo agudde, bwe yeesittalanga omutima gwo gulemenga okujaguza.
18 Lest YHWH see, and [it be] evil in His eyes, And He has turned His anger from off him.
Si kulwa nga Mukama akiraba ne kitamusanyusa, n’amusunguwalira.
19 Do not fret yourself at evildoers, do not be envious at the wicked,
Teweeraliikiriranga olw’abo abakola ebibi, so abakozi b’ebibi tobakwatirwanga buggya.
20 For there is not a posterity to the evil, The lamp of the wicked is extinguished.
Kubanga omuntu omubi talina ssuubi mu maaso, ettabaaza y’abakozi b’ebibi erizikizibwa.
21 Fear YHWH, my son, and the king, Do not mix yourself up with changers,
Mwana wange otyanga Mukama, ne kabaka, era teweetabanga na bajeemu.
22 For their calamity rises suddenly, And the ruin of them both—who knows!
Kubanga obusungu bwabwe bulibuubuukira ku bajeemu era ani amaanyi akabi akalibatuukako?
23 These are also for the wise: [It] is not good to discern faces in judgment.
Bino nabyo era bigambo by’abalina amagezi. Okwekubiira ng’osala emisango si kirungi.
24 Whoever is saying to the wicked, “You [are] righteous,” Peoples execrate him—nations abhor him.
Kale oyo agamba azizza omusango nti, “Toliiko ky’ovunaanibwa,” abantu banaamukolimiranga, n’amawanga ganaamwetamwanga.
25 And it is pleasant to those reproving, And a good blessing comes on them.
Naye abo abasalira omusobya omusango ne gumusinga banaabanga n’essanyu, n’omukisa omulungi gulibatuukako.
26 He who is returning straightforward words kisses lips.
Eky’okuddamu eky’amazima, kiri ng’okunywegerwa.
27 Prepare your work in an out-place, And make it ready in the field—go afterward, Then you have built your house.
Malirizanga omulimu gwo ogw’ebweru, oteeketeeke ennimiro zo, n’oluvannyuma olyoke weezimbire ennyumba yo.
28 Do not be a witness against your neighbor for nothing, Or you have enticed with your lips.
Towanga bujulizi bwa bulimba ku muliraanwa wo, so akamwa ko tekalimbanga.
29 Do not say, “As he did to me, so I do to him, I render to each according to his work.”
Toyogeranga nti, “Omuntu oyo ndimukola nga bw’ankoze, era ndimusasuza nga bw’ampisizza.”
30 I passed by near the field of a slothful man, And near the vineyard of a man lacking heart.
Nayita ku nnimiro ey’omugayaavu, ne mpita ne ku nnimiro y’emizabbibu ey’oyo atalina kutegeera.
31 And behold, it has gone up—all of it—thorns! Nettles have covered its face, And its stone wall has been broken down.
Kale laba, ng’ennimiro eyo ebunye amaggwa, wansi wonna nga wabikkiddwa omuddo, n’olukomera lwayo olw’amayinja nga lugudde.
32 And I see—I set my heart, I have seen—I have received instruction,
Ne neekaliriza ne ntegeera ne nfuna ekyokuyiga mu bye nalaba.
33 A little sleep—a little slumber—A little folding of the hands to lie down.
Otulo otutonotono, n’okusumagira akatono, n’okufunya emikono okuwummulako,
34 And your poverty has come [as] a traveler, And your want as an armed man!
obwavu bulikutuukako ng’omutemu, era n’obwetaavu ng’omutemu.
