< Proverbs 21 >
1 The heart of a king [is] streams of waters in the hand of YHWH, He inclines it wherever He pleases.

2 Every way of a man [is] right in his own eyes, And YHWH is pondering hearts.
Ma e hmunae dawk teh mae hringnuen heh a lan telah pouk awh, hatei BAWIPA ni lungthin heh yawcu dawk a khing.
3 To do righteousness and judgment, Is chosen of YHWH rather than sacrifice.
Lannae hoi kânging lah sak e heh thuengnae hlak BAWIPA ni a ngaihnawn.
4 Loftiness of eyes, and breadth of heart, Tillage of the wicked [is] sin.
Kâoupnae minhmai hoi lunglennae lungthin hoi tamikathoutnaw e hmaiim teh yon doeh.
5 The purposes of the diligent [are] only to advantage, And of every hasty one, only to want.
Tami ka hratbat e pouknae ni tawntannae a tâcokhai, hatei kâhruetcuet hoeh e pouknae ni voutnae a tâcokhai.
6 The making of treasures by a lying tongue, [Is] a vanity driven away of those seeking death.
Laithoe dei laihoi hmu e hnopai teh duenae ka tawng ni teh kahmat e patetlah ao.
7 The spoil of the wicked catches them, Because they have refused to do judgment.
Tamikathoutnaw e lawpnae ni amamouh a raphoe han, bangkongtetpawiteh kânginglah lawkcengnae hah a pahnawt awh.
8 The way of a man who is vile [is] contrary, And the pure—his work [is] upright.
Tamikayon e lamthung teh a longkawi, hatei tamikalan hanelah teh a tawk e hah kalan e doeh.
9 Better to sit on a corner of the roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions and a house of company.
Ka hrawang e yu hoi im kalen dawk o hlak teh, lemphu imtakin koe awm pawiteh bet ahawihnawn.
10 The soul of the wicked has desired evil, his neighbor is not gracious in his eyes.
Tamikathout hringnae ni hnokathout a ngai, a imrinaw ni ahnie pahrennae hmawt awh hoeh.
11 When the scorner is punished, the simple becomes wise, And in giving understanding to the wise He receives knowledge.
Kadudame taminaw reknae dawkvah kamawngrame ni lungang a kâla awh, hatei tamilungkaangnaw cangkhai navah panuenae a hmu awh.
12 The Righteous One is acting wisely Toward the house of the wicked, He is overthrowing the wicked for wickedness.
Tamikalan ni tamikathout imthung hah kahawicalah a pouk, hatei Cathut ni tamikathoutnaw teh amamae thoenae lahoi a tâkhawng.
13 Whoever is shutting his ear from the cry of the poor, He also cries, and is not answered.
Tamimathoe hramnae lawk thai ngai laipalah a hnâ ka tabuem e teh, ama hai a hram toteh apinihai thai pouh mahoeh.
14 A gift in secret pacifies anger, And a bribe in the bosom—strong fury.
Arulahoi poe e poehno ni lungphuennae, a lungtabue dawk poe e tadawnghno ni puenghoi lungkhueknae a roum sak.
15 To do justice [is] joy to the righteous, But ruin to workers of iniquity.
Kalan lah lawkcengnae e teh tamikalan hanelah konawmnae doeh, hatei yonnae kasaknaw teh rawknae koe a pha awh han.
16 A man who is wandering from the way of understanding, Rests in an assembly of Rephaim.
Thaipanueknae lam kaphennaw teh tamikadoutnaw kamkhuengnae koe a kâhat van han.
17 Whoever [is] loving mirth [is] a poor man, Whoever is loving wine and oil makes no wealth.
Nawmnae dueng ka ngai e teh a mathoe han, misurtui hoi satui ka ngai poung e teh tawnta mahoeh.
18 The wicked [is] an atonement for the righteous, And the treacherous dealer for the upright.
Tamikathout teh tamikalan hanelah, Yuemkamcuhoeh e teh tamikalan ratangnae lah ao.
19 Better to dwell in a wilderness land, Than [with] a woman of contentions and anger.
A lungkaduem ni teh ka hrawang e yu hoi o hlak teh, ramkenae koe awm pawiteh bet ahawihnawn.
20 A treasure to be desired, and oil, [Is] in the habitation of the wise, And a foolish man swallows it up.
Tamilungkaang onae koe hno ngai kaawm hoi satui ao teh, tamipathu ni teh a kaseikasak.
21 Whoever is pursuing righteousness and kindness, Finds life, righteousness, and honor.
Lannae hoi lungmanae katawngnaw ni hringnae hoi lannae hoi barinae ouk a hmu awh.
22 The wise has gone up a city of the mighty, And brings down the strength of its confidence.
Tamilungkaang ni kacakpounge khopui dawk a kâen teh, khocanaw ni a kângue e rapanim hah a tip sak.
23 Whoever is keeping his mouth and his tongue, Is keeping his soul from adversities.
A laihoi a pahni ka ring e teh runae thung hoi a hringnae ouk a hlout.
24 Proud, haughty, scorner—his name, Who is working in the wrath of pride.
Tami moikai hoi kâoup e teh a min patenghai dudamkung telah a phung awh teh, kâoup lungkhuek laihoi ouk a kâroe.
25 The desire of the slothful slays him, For his hands have refused to work.
Tami ka pangak e teh thaw a tawk ngaihoeh dawkvah, a doun e ni ama a thei.
26 All the day desiring he has desired, And the righteous gives and does not withhold.
Hnintangkuem nôe laihoi ao, hatei tamikalan niteh pasai laipalah a poe.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked [is] abomination, Much more when he brings it in wickedness.
Tamikathout e thuengnae teh panuet a tho, hnokathout ngainae lungthin hoi thuengnae teh panuet hoe a tho.
28 A false witness perishes, And an attentive man speaks forever.
Kapanuekkhaikung kaphawk teh takhoe lah ao han, hatei kapanuekkhaikung katang ni a panue e patetlah a dei e teh dâw lah ao han.
29 A wicked man has hardened by his face, And the upright—he prepares his way.
Tamikathout ni a minhmai tamundun lah a ta, hatei tamikalan ni a lamthung a cak sak.
30 There is no wisdom, nor understanding, Nor counsel against YHWH.
BAWIPA taranlahoi lungangnae, thaipanueknae, hoi kâpankhainae awm hoeh.
31 A horse is prepared for a day of battle, And the deliverance [is] of YHWH!
