Proverbs 19
1 Better [is] the poor walking in his integrity, Than the perverse [in] his lips—who [is] a fool.
भ्रष्ट ओठ भएको मानिसभन्दा त निर्दोष जीवन भएको गरिब असल हो।
2 Also, without knowledge the soul [is] not good, And the hasty in feet is sinning.
ज्ञानविनाको उत्साह असल हुँदैन; हतार गर्नेले बाटो बिराउँछ।
3 The folly of man perverts his way, And his heart is angry against YHWH.
मानिसको आफ्नै मूर्खताले त्यसको जीवन बरबादीमा पुर्याउँछ; तरै पनि त्यसको हृदयले याहवेहको विरुद्धमा रिस प्रकट गर्छ।
4 Wealth adds many friends, And the poor is separated from his neighbor.
धनले धेरै मित्रहरू बनाउँछ; तर गरिबको सबैभन्दा नजिकको साथीले पनि तिनीहरूलाई त्यागिदिन्छ।
5 A false witness is not acquitted, Whoever breathes out lies is not delivered.
झूटो गवाही दिने दण्ड नपाई उम्कनेछैन, र झूटो कुरा गर्ने मानिस स्वतन्त्र हुँदैन।
6 Many beg the face of the noble, And all have made friendship to a man of gifts.
धेरैले शासकदेखि निगाह प्राप्त गर्न चाहन्छन्; र सबै मानिसहरू उपहार दिनेको मित्र हुन्छन्।
7 All the brothers of the poor have hated him, Surely his friends have also been far from him, He is pursuing words—they are not!
गरिब मानिस आफ्नै नातेदारहरूद्वारा घृणा गरिन्छ, त्यसका मित्रहरू झन् त्यसबाट कति टाढा रहलान्! त्यसले बिन्तीभाउ गरी तिनीहरूका पछि लागे तापनि तिनीहरू केही प्रतिक्रिया दिँदैनन्।
8 Whoever is getting heart is loving his soul, He is keeping understanding to find good.
बुद्धि पाउनेले आफ्नै जीवनलाई प्रेम गर्छ; समझशक्तिको कदर गर्ने व्यक्तिको फलिफाप हुन्छ।
9 A false witness is not acquitted, And whoever breathes out lies perishes.
झूटो गवाही दिने दण्ड नपाई उम्कनेछैन; र झूटो कुरा गर्ने नष्ट हुनेछ।
10 Luxury is not fitting for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule among princes.
मूर्खलाई विलासी भएर बस्न सुहाउँदैन; दासलाई राजकुमारहरूमाथि शासन गर्न झन् पटक्कै सुहाउँदैन!
11 The wisdom of a man has deferred his anger, And his glory [is] to pass over transgression.
बुद्धिले मानिसलाई धैर्यता दिन्छ; अपराध बेवास्ता गर्नुचाहिँ उसको लागि महिमा हुन्छ।
12 The wrath of a king [is] a growl as of a young lion, And his goodwill as dew on the herb.
राजाको क्रोध सिंहको गर्जनजस्तै हुन्छ; तर तिनको निगाहचाहिँ घाँसमाथि परेको शीतजस्तै हुन्छ।
13 A foolish son [is] a calamity to his father, And the contentions of a wife [are] a continual dropping.
मूर्ख छोराछोरी आफ्ना बुबाको लागि पतन हो; र कचकचे पत्नीचाहिँ तपतप चुहिरहने छानाजस्तै हो।
14 House and wealth [are] the inheritance of fathers, And an understanding wife [is] from YHWH.
घर र सम्पत्ति आमाबुबाबाट आएका हुन्छन्, तर विवेकी पत्नीचाहिँ याहवेहले मात्र दिन सक्नुहुन्छ।
15 Sloth causes deep sleep to fall, And an indolent soul hungers.
अल्छेपनले घोर निद्रा ल्याउँछ, र काम नगर्ने मानिस भोकै रहन्छ।
16 Whoever is keeping the command is keeping his soul, Whoever is despising His ways dies.
आज्ञापालन गर्नेले आफ्नो जीवनको रक्षा गर्छ, तर तिनलाई तिरस्कार गर्नेहरू मर्नेछन्।
17 Whoever is lending [to] YHWH is favoring the poor, And He repays his deed to him.
गरिबहरूप्रति दयालु हुनेले याहवेहलाई सापट दिन्छ, र उहाँले तिनीहरूको कामको प्रतिफल फिर्ता दिनुहुनेछ।
18 Discipline your son, for there is hope, And do not lift up your soul to put him to death.
आफ्नो छोराछोरीलाई अनुशासनमा राख; किनकि त्यसमा आशा हुन्छ, तिनीहरूको मृत्युमा सहभागी नहोऊ।
19 A man of great wrath is bearing punishment, For if you deliver, yet again you add.
रिसाहा मानिसले परिणाम भोग्नैपर्छ; त्यसलाई उम्कन दियौ भने फेरि पनि तिमीले त्यसै गर्नुपर्नेछ।
20 Hear counsel and receive instruction, So that you are wise in your latter end.
सल्लाह सुन, र अनुशासनलाई ग्रहण गर, र तिम्रो जीवनभरि तिमी बुद्धिमान् हुनेछौ।
21 The purposes in a man’s heart [are] many, And the counsel of YHWH—it stands.
मानिसका हृदयमा धेरै योजनाहरू हुन्छन्, तर अन्ततः याहवेहकै उद्देश्य पूरा हुन्छ।
22 The desirableness of a man [is] his kindness, And the poor [is] better than a liar.
मानिसले अचुक प्रेमको इच्छा राख्छ; झूटो बोल्ने हुनुभन्दा बरु गरिब हुनु नै बेस हो।
23 The fear of YHWH [is] to life, And he remains satisfied—he is not charged with evil.
याहवेहप्रतिको श्रद्धाले जीवनमा पुर्याउँछ, तब मानिस ढुक्कसँग रहन्छ; दुःखले त्यसलाई छुँदैन।
24 The slothful has hidden his hand in a dish, Even to his mouth he does not bring it back.
अल्छेले आफ्नो हात थालमा हाल्छ, र त्यसले आफ्नो हात उठाएर मुखसम्म पनि ल्याउन चाहँदैन!
25 Strike a scorner, and the simple acts prudently, And give reproof to the intelligent, He understands knowledge.
गिल्ला गर्नेलाई कोर्रा लगाऊ, यो देखेर सोझो मानिस चनाखो बन्नेछ; विवेकशील मानिसहरूलाई हप्काऊ, र तिनीहरूले ज्ञान बढाउनेछन्।
26 Whoever is spoiling a father causes a mother to flee, A son causing shame, and bringing confusion.
आफ्ना बुबालाई लुट्ने र आफ्नी आमालाई बाहिर निकाल्ने छोराछोरीले शर्म र कलङ्क ल्याउँदछन्।
27 Cease, my son, to hear instruction—To err from sayings of knowledge.
हे मेरा छोराछोरी, अर्तीलाई सुन्न छोड्यौ भने, तिमीहरू ज्ञानका वचनहरूदेखि बहकिनेछौ।
28 A worthless witness scorns judgment, And the mouth of the wicked swallows iniquity.
भ्रष्ट गवाहीले न्यायलाई खिसी गर्छ, र दुष्टको मुखले दुष्टतालाई निल्छ।
29 Judgments have been prepared for scorners, And stripes for the back of fools!
खिसी गर्नेहरूका निम्ति दण्डहरू, र मूर्खहरूका पिठिउँका निम्ति पिटाइहरू तयार पारिएका हुन्छन्।
