< Proverbs 14 >

1 Every wise woman has built her house, And the foolish breaks it down with her hands.

2 Whoever is walking in his uprightness is fearing YHWH, And the perverted is despising Him [in] his ways.

3 A rod of pride [is] in the mouth of a fool, And the lips of the wise preserve them.

4 Without oxen a stall [is] clean, And great [is] the increase by the power of the ox.
Fin wangin ox in amakin plao uh, ac wangin koanon nien fil mongo sum. A fin oasr, na nien fil mongo sum ac sessesla ke wheat.
5 A faithful witness does not lie, And a false witness breathes out lies.
Sie mwet loh oaru el fahkak ma pwaye pacl nukewa, a sie mwet loh soaru el kikiap pacl nukewa.
6 A scorner has sought wisdom, and it is not, And knowledge [is] easy to the intelligent.
Sie mwet inse fulat el tia ku in sun lalmwetmet, a mwet oasr etauk la, fisrasr elos in eis mwe lutlut.
7 Go from before a foolish man, Or you have not known the lips of knowledge.
Nimet apkuran nu yurin mwet lalfon. Wangin ma elos ac ku in luti kom.
8 The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way, And the folly of fools [is] deceit.
Efu ku mwet lalkung uh lalmwetmet? Mweyen el etu ma elan oru. Efu ku mwet sulalkung uh lalfon? Mweyen el nunku mu el etu ma nukewa.
9 Fools mock at a guilt-offering, And among the upright—a pleasing thing.
Wangin fosrnga lun mwet lalfon ke elos orala ma koluk, a mwet wo elos suk in oasr nunak munas nu selos.
10 The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not interfere with its joy.
Wangin mwet ku in etu na pwaye lah fuka engan lom ku asor lom. Kom mukena pa etu. Wangin mwet ku in wi kom kac.
11 The house of the wicked is destroyed, And the tent of the upright flourishes.
Lohm sin sie mwet wo ac tu na tukun kunausyukla lohm sin sie mwet koluk.
12 There is a way—right before a man, And its latter end [are] ways of death.
Sahp inkanek soko ma kom pangon mu suwohs uh, ac ku in kolkomla nu ke misa.
13 Even in laughter is the heart pained, And the latter end of joy [is] affliction.
Israsr uh ku in okanla inse asor. Pacl engan uh wanginla, asor sac srakna oasr.
14 The backslider in heart is filled from his ways, And a good man—from his fruits.
Mwet koluk uh fah eis ma fal nu ke ma elos oru. Mwet wo uh fah eis lacnen orekma wo lalos.
15 The simple gives credence to everything, And the prudent attends to his step.
Sie mwet lalfon el lulalfongi ma nukewa; a mwet lalkung elos taranna yen elos fahsr nu we.
16 The wise is fearing and turning from evil, And a fool is transgressing and is confident.
Mwet etauk elos karinganang in tia sun mwe lokoalok, a mwet lalfon uh nikin sensen, ac sa na in mukuila.
17 Whoever is short of temper does folly, And a man of wicked schemes is hated.
Mwet mongsa uh oru ma lalfon; ac mwet kinauk inkanek kutasrik ac fah srungayuk.
18 The simple have inherited folly, And the prudent are crowned [with] knowledge.
Mwet nikin ac eis fokin lalfon lalos, a mwet lalkung ac usrui etauk.
19 The evil have bowed down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
Mwet koluk ac fah epasr ye mutun mwet suwoswos ac pusisel in siyuk kasru selos.
20 The poor is hated even of his neighbor, And those loving the rich [are] many.
Wangin mwet lungse orek kawuk nu sin sie mwet sukasrup, finne mwet tulan lal; a sie mwet kasrup, oasr mwet kawuk puspis lal.
21 Whoever is despising his neighbor sins, Whoever is favoring the humble, O his blessedness.
Kom fin lungse kom in engan, na kom in kulang nu sin mwet sukasrup; sie ma koluk pa in pilesru kutena mwet.
22 Do they who are devising evil not err? And kindness and truth [are] to those devising good,
Kom fin oru sie orekma wo, mwet uh ac lulalfongi kom ac sunakin kom, a kom fin wi oru orekma koluk, kom fahsr ke sie inkanek tafongla.
23 In all labor there is advantage, And a thing of the lips [is] only to want.
Orekma, na kom fah eis woiya. Kom fin mutana sramsarm, kom ac sukasrup.
24 The crown of the wise is their wealth, The folly of fools [is] folly.
Mwet lalmwetmet uh eis mwe kasrup; a mwet lalfon eteyuk ke lalfon lalos.
25 A true witness is delivering souls, And a deceitful one breathes out lies.
Sie mwet loh su kaskas pwaye el molela moul lun sie mwet; a el fin fahk kas kikiap, el lafwekin sie mwet.
26 Strong confidence [is] in the fear of YHWH, And there is a refuge to His sons.
Akfulatye LEUM GOD, fah sang lulalfongi ku ac moul misla nu sin sie mwet ac sou lal.
27 The fear of YHWH [is] a fountain of life, To turn aside from snares of death.
Ya kom lungse tuh kom in tia sa misa? Sie unon in moul pa akfulatye LEUM GOD.
28 The honor of a king [is] in the multitude of a people, And the ruin of a prince in lack of people.
Fulat lun sie tokosra tuku ke pisen mwet ma el leumi. Fin wangin mwet, na el tia oaoa.
29 Whoever is slow to anger [is] of great understanding, And whoever is short in temper is exalting folly.
Kom fin mongfisrasr, kom lalmwetmet; a kom fin mongsa, kom akkalemye lupan lalfon lom.
30 A healed heart [is] life to the flesh, And rottenness to the bones [is] envy.
Inse misla uh mwe akkeye mano, a sok uh oana sie mas ma akkulamye mano.
31 An oppressor of the poor reproaches his Maker, And whoever is honoring Him Is favoring the needy.
Kom fin akkeokye mwet sukasrup, kom aklusrongtenye God su oralosla; a ke kom kulang nu sin mwet sukasrup, kom akfulatye God.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness, And the righteous [is] trustful in his death.
Mwet koluk uh putatla ke sripen orekma koluk lalos, a mwet wo uh molla ke sripen moul suwohs lalos.
33 Wisdom rests in the heart of the intelligent. And it is known in the midst of fools.
Lalmwetmet uh oan in nunak nukewa lun sie mwet etauk. Mwet lalfon uh wangin etu la ke lalmwetmet uh.
34 Righteousness exalts a nation, And the righteousness of peoples [is] a sin-offering.
Suwoswos ac oru sie mutunfacl in ku ac fulat. Ma koluk uh mwe akmwekinye sie mutunfacl.
35 The favor of a king [is] to a wise servant, And one causing shame is an object of his wrath!
Tokosra uh elos insewowo ke mwet pwapa fulat lalos su oaru in oru ma kuna; a elos kalyaelos su tia akfalye ma kunalos.
