Proverbs 11

1 Balances of deceit [are] an abomination to YHWH, And a perfect weight [is] His delight.

കള്ളത്തുലാസ് യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു, കൃത്യതയുള്ള തൂക്കം അവിടത്തെ പ്രസാദം നേടിത്തരും.

2 Pride has come, and shame comes, And wisdom [is] with the lowly.

അഹന്ത വരുമ്പോൾ അപമാനം കൂടെവരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ എളിമയോടൊപ്പം ജ്ഞാനം വരുന്നു.

3 The integrity of the upright leads them, And the perverseness of the treacherous destroys them.

നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ സത്യസന്ധത അവർക്കു വഴികാട്ടിയാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അവിശ്വസ്തർ തങ്ങളുടെ കാപട്യംമൂലം നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

4 Wealth does not profit in a day of wrath, And righteousness delivers from death.

സമ്പത്ത് ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽ ഉപകരിക്കുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠമായ ജീവിതം മരണത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.

5 The righteousness of the perfect makes his way right, And by his wickedness the wicked fall.

നിഷ്കളങ്കരുടെ നീതി അവർക്കു നേർവഴി ഒരുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീചർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തിമൂലം വീണുപോകും.

6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, And in mischief the treacherous are captured.

സത്യസന്ധരുടെ നീതിനിഷ്ഠ അവരെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അവിശ്വസ്തരോ, തങ്ങളുടെ അത്യാർത്തിയാൽ കെണിയിലകപ്പെടുന്നു.

7 In the death of a wicked man, hope perishes, And the expectation of the iniquitous has been lost.

ദുഷ്ടരുടെ മരണത്തോടെ അവരുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷകളും തകരുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശക്തിയിൽ ചെയ്ത വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നിഷ്ഫലമാകുന്നു.

8 The righteous is drawn out from distress, And the wicked goes in instead of him.

നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ അനർഥത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർ അതിൽ പെട്ടുപോകുന്നു.

9 A hypocrite corrupts his friend with the mouth, And the righteous are drawn out by knowledge.

അഭക്തർ തങ്ങളുടെ അധരങ്ങളാൽ അയൽവാസിക്കു നാശംവരുത്തുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ തങ്ങളുടെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താൽ വിമോചിതരാകും.

10 A city exults in the good of the righteous, And in the destruction of the wicked [is] singing.

നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അഭിവൃദ്ധിയിൽ നഗരവാസികൾ ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടരുടെ നാശത്തിൽ ആനന്ദഘോഷം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു.

11 By the blessing of the upright is a city exalted, And by the mouth of the wicked thrown down.

സത്യസന്ധർക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന അനുഗ്രഹംമൂലം നഗരത്തിന് അഭിവൃദ്ധിയുണ്ടാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ആലോചനയാൽ നഗരം നശിക്കുന്നു.

12 Whoever is despising his neighbor lacks heart, And a man of understanding keeps silence.

അയൽവാസിയെ അവഹേളിക്കുന്നവർ വകതിരിവില്ലാത്തവർ എന്നാൽ വിവേകി തന്റെ നാവിനെ അടക്കിനിർത്തുന്നു.

13 A busybody is revealing secret counsel, And the faithful of spirit is covering the matter.

കിംവദന്തി ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വസ്തരോ, രഹസ്യം കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

14 Without counsels a people falls, And deliverance [is] in a multitude of counselors.

മാർഗനിർദേശങ്ങളുടെ അഭാവത്താൽ ഒരു ദേശം നിലംപരിശാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കളുടെ ബാഹുല്യം വിജയം ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

15 An evil [one] suffers when he has been guarantor [for] a stranger, And whoever hates striking hands [in agreement] is confident.

അന്യനുവേണ്ടി ജാമ്യംനിൽക്കുന്നവർ തീർച്ചയായും ദുഃഖിക്കേണ്ടിവരും, ഒരു ജാമ്യക്കരാറിലും കൈയൊപ്പു ചാർത്താതിരിക്കുന്നവർ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കും.

16 A gracious woman retains honor, And terrible [men] retain riches.

ദയാശീലയായ വനിത ആദരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അനുകമ്പയില്ലാത്ത പുരുഷൻ സമ്പത്തുമാത്രം ആർജിക്കുന്നു.

17 A kind man is rewarding his own soul, And the fierce is troubling his own flesh.

ദയാലു തനിക്കുതന്നെ നന്മനേടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ക്രൂരർ തങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നെ അനർഥം വരുത്തുന്നു.

18 The wicked is getting a lying wage, And whoever is sowing righteousness—a true reward.

ദുഷ്ടർ വഞ്ചനയോടെ കൂലിവാങ്ങുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതി വിതയ്ക്കുന്നവർ നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഫലം വാങ്ങുന്നു.

19 Correctly [is] righteousness for life, And whoever is pursuing evil—for his own death.

നീതിമാർഗത്തിൽ ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കുന്നവർ ജീവനെ നേടും, എന്നാൽ അധർമം പിൻതുടരുന്നവർ മരണത്തെ പുൽകുന്നു.

20 The perverse of heart are an abomination to YHWH, And the perfect of the way [are] His delight.

യഹോവ വക്രഹൃദയമുള്ളവരെ വെറുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നിഷ്കളങ്കമാർഗത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നവരിൽ അവിടന്ന് ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

21 Hand to hand, the wicked is not acquitted, And the seed of the righteous has escaped.

ദുഷ്ടർ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കുകയില്ല; സുനിശ്ചിതം, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ സന്തതി സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കപ്പെടും.

22 A ring of gold in the nose of a sow—A beautiful woman and stubborn of behavior.

വിവേചനശക്തിയില്ലാത്ത സുന്ദരി, പന്നിയുടെ മൂക്കിലെ സ്വർണമൂക്കുത്തിപോലെ.

23 The desire of the righteous [is] only good, The hope of the wicked [is] transgression.

നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അഭിലാഷം നന്മയിലേക്കുമാത്രം നയിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷ ന്യായവിധിമാത്രം.

24 There is [one] who is scattering, and yet is increased, And [one] who is keeping back from uprightness, only to want.

ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉദാരമായി നൽകുന്നു, എന്നിട്ടും അതിൽ അധികമായി നേടുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുകൂട്ടം അനധികൃതമായി പിടിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു, എന്നിട്ടും ദാരിദ്ര്യംമാത്രം ശേഷിക്കുന്നു.

25 A liberal soul is made fat, And whoever is watering, he also is watered.

ഉദാരമനസ്കരായവർ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെടും; അന്യരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കും.

26 Whoever is withholding grain, the people execrate him, And a blessing [is] for the head of him who is selling.

ധാന്യം പൂഴ്ത്തിവെക്കുന്നവരെ ജനം ശപിക്കും, എന്നാൽ അതു വിൽക്കുന്നവരുടെ ശിരസ്സിൽ അനുഗ്രഹം വർഷിക്കും.

27 Whoever is earnestly seeking good Seeks a pleasing thing, And whoever is seeking evil—it meets him.

ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ നന്മ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അംഗീകാരം ലഭിക്കും, തിന്മ തേടുന്നവർ അതുതന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

28 Whoever is confident in his wealth falls, And as a leaf, the righteous flourish.

സ്വന്തം സമ്പത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർ വീണുപോകും, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ പച്ചിലപോലെ തഴയ്ക്കും.

29 Whoever is troubling his own house inherits wind, And the fool [is] a servant to the wise of heart.

സ്വകുടുംബത്തിൽ നാശം വരുത്തുന്നവരുടെ ഓഹരി കാറ്റായിരിക്കും, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷർ ജ്ഞാനിക്കു ദാസ്യവൃത്തിചെയ്യും.

30 The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life, And whoever is taking souls [is] wise.

നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ പ്രതിഫലം ജീവവൃക്ഷം, ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവർ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ നേടുന്നു.

31 Behold, the righteous is repaid in the earth, Surely also the wicked and the sinner!

ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്കു പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, അഭക്തർക്കും പാപികൾക്കും എത്രമടങ്ങായിരിക്കും!
