Proverbs 11
1 Balances of deceit [are] an abomination to YHWH, And a perfect weight [is] His delight.
૧ખોટાં ત્રાજવાં યહોવાહને કંટાળારૂપ છે, પણ સાચા વજનથી તેમને આનંદ થાય છે.
2 Pride has come, and shame comes, And wisdom [is] with the lowly.
૨અહંકાર આવે છે ત્યારે અપમાન પણ આવે છે, પણ નમ્ર જનો પાસે ડહાપણ હોય છે.
3 The integrity of the upright leads them, And the perverseness of the treacherous destroys them.
૩પ્રામાણિક માણસની વિશ્વાનીયતા તેને દોરે છે, પણ ધુતારા પોતાના દુષ્ટ ઇરાદાઓથી નાશ પામશે.
4 Wealth does not profit in a day of wrath, And righteousness delivers from death.
૪કોપને દિવસે દ્રવ્ય કંઈ કામ આવતું નથી, પણ નેકી મોતથી ઉગારે છે.
5 The righteousness of the perfect makes his way right, And by his wickedness the wicked fall.
૫પ્રામાણિક માણસની નેકી તેનો માર્ગ સ્થિર કરે છે, પણ દુષ્ટ માણસ પોતાની જ દુષ્ટતાથી પાયમાલ થશે.
6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, And in mischief the treacherous are captured.
૬પ્રામાણિક માણસની નેકી, ઈશ્વરને પસંદ છે તેથી તે બચી જશે, પરંતુ કપટ કરનારા તેઓની પોતાની યોજનાઓમાં ફસાય છે.
7 In the death of a wicked man, hope perishes, And the expectation of the iniquitous has been lost.
૭દુષ્ટ માણસની અપેક્ષા તેના મૃત્યુ સમયે નાશ પામે છે, અને અન્યાયીની આશા પણ નાશ પામે છે.
8 The righteous is drawn out from distress, And the wicked goes in instead of him.
૮સદાચારીને સંકટમાંથી ઉગારી લેવામાં આવે છે અને તેને બદલે દુષ્ટો તેમાં ફસાય છે.
9 A hypocrite corrupts his friend with the mouth, And the righteous are drawn out by knowledge.
૯દુષ્ટ માણસ પોતાની વાણીથી પોતાના પડોશીઓનો નાશ કરે છે, પરંતુ ન્યાયી તેના ડહાપણ વડે બીજાઓને ઉગારે છે.
10 A city exults in the good of the righteous, And in the destruction of the wicked [is] singing.
૧૦ન્યાયી વ્યક્તિની સફળતામાં આખું નગર હર્ષ કરે છે; અને દુષ્ટોનો નાશ થાય છે ત્યારે હર્ષના નાદ સંભળાય છે.
11 By the blessing of the upright is a city exalted, And by the mouth of the wicked thrown down.
૧૧સદાચારીના આશીર્વાદથી નગરની ઉન્નતિ થાય છે, પણ દુરાચારીની વાણીથી તેનો નાશ થાય છે.
12 Whoever is despising his neighbor lacks heart, And a man of understanding keeps silence.
૧૨પોતાના પડોશીનો તુચ્છકાર કરનાર અજ્ઞાની છે, પણ બુદ્ધિમાન માણસ શાંત રહે છે.
13 A busybody is revealing secret counsel, And the faithful of spirit is covering the matter.
૧૩ચાડી કરનાર માણસ છૂપી વાત બહાર પાડી દે છે, પણ વિશ્વાસુ વ્યક્તિ એ વાતને ગુપ્ત રાખે છે.
14 Without counsels a people falls, And deliverance [is] in a multitude of counselors.
૧૪જ્યાં આગેવાન અજ્ઞાન હોય, ત્યાં લોકો નાશ પામે છે, પણ જ્યાં પુષ્કળ સલાહકારો હોય ત્યાં સલામતી છે.
15 An evil [one] suffers when he has been guarantor [for] a stranger, And whoever hates striking hands [in agreement] is confident.
૧૫પારકાના જામીન થનારને વેઠવું પડે છે, જે જામીનગીરી લેવાનું ટાળે છે તે સુરક્ષિત છે.
16 A gracious woman retains honor, And terrible [men] retain riches.
૧૬સુશીલ સ્ત્રી સન્માન પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે; અને જુલમી માણસો દ્રવ્ય સાચવી રાખે છે.
17 A kind man is rewarding his own soul, And the fierce is troubling his own flesh.
૧૭દયાળુ માણસ પોતાની જાતનું હિત કરે છે, પણ ઘાતકી માણસ પોતાના દેહને દુ: ખમાં નાખે છે.
18 The wicked is getting a lying wage, And whoever is sowing righteousness—a true reward.
૧૮દુષ્ટની કમાણી ઠગારી છે, પણ નીતિમત્તાનું બીજ વાવનારને સાચો હોવા બદલ વળતર મળશે.
19 Correctly [is] righteousness for life, And whoever is pursuing evil—for his own death.
૧૯જે માણસ નેકીમાં સુદ્રઢ છે તે જીવન સંપાદન કરે છે, પણ બૂરાઈ શોધનાર પોતાનું જ મોત લાવે છે.
20 The perverse of heart are an abomination to YHWH, And the perfect of the way [are] His delight.
૨૦વિપરીત અંતઃકરણવાળા માણસોથી યહોવાહ કંટાળે છે, પણ જેઓ નીતિમત્તાથી જીવે છે તેઓ તેમને આનંદરૂપ છે.
21 Hand to hand, the wicked is not acquitted, And the seed of the righteous has escaped.
૨૧ખાતરી રાખજો કે દુષ્ટને સજા થયા વિના રહેશે નહિ, પણ સદાચારીઓનાં સંતાનનો બચાવ થશે.
22 A ring of gold in the nose of a sow—A beautiful woman and stubborn of behavior.
૨૨જેમ ભૂંડના નાકમાં સોનાની નથણી હોય છે તેમ વિવેકહીન સ્ત્રીની સુંદરતા છે.
23 The desire of the righteous [is] only good, The hope of the wicked [is] transgression.
૨૩નેક માણસની ઇચ્છા સારી જ હોય છે, પરંતુ દુષ્ટોની ઇચ્છાઓ કોપરૂપ છે.
24 There is [one] who is scattering, and yet is increased, And [one] who is keeping back from uprightness, only to want.
૨૪એવા માણસો છે કે જેઓ વેરી નાખે છે તેમ છતાં વૃદ્ધિ પામે છે; અને કેટલાક વધુ પડતી કરકસર કરે છે તેમ છતાં તેઓ કંગાળ થાય છે.
25 A liberal soul is made fat, And whoever is watering, he also is watered.
૨૫ઉદાર વ્યક્તિ આબાદ થશે, પાણી આપનાર પોતે પણ પાણી પીશે.
26 Whoever is withholding grain, the people execrate him, And a blessing [is] for the head of him who is selling.
૨૬અનાજ સંઘરી રાખનારને લોકો શાપ આપે છે, પણ વેચનાર ઉપર તેઓ આશીર્વાદ વરસાવે છે.
27 Whoever is earnestly seeking good Seeks a pleasing thing, And whoever is seeking evil—it meets him.
૨૭ખંતથી હિત શોધનારને ઈશ્વરની કૃપા પ્રાપ્ત થશે, પણ જે અહિત કરે છે તેઓને નુકશાન થશે.
28 Whoever is confident in his wealth falls, And as a leaf, the righteous flourish.
૨૮પોતાના દ્રવ્ય પર ભરોસો રાખનાર પડી જશે, પણ નેકીવાન લીલા પાનની માફક ખીલશે.
29 Whoever is troubling his own house inherits wind, And the fool [is] a servant to the wise of heart.
૨૯જે પોતાના જ કુટુંબને દુ: ખી કરે છે, તેને પવનનો વારસો મળશે, અને મૂર્ખ માણસ જ્ઞાનીનો ચાકર બનશે.
30 The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life, And whoever is taking souls [is] wise.
૩૦નેકીવાનનું ફળ તે જીવનનું વૃક્ષ છે, પણ જે જ્ઞાની છે તે બીજા આત્માઓને બચાવે છે.
31 Behold, the righteous is repaid in the earth, Surely also the wicked and the sinner!
૩૧નેકીવાનને પૃથ્વી પર બદલો મળશે; તો દુષ્ટ અને પાપીને પણ તેના કામ પ્રમાણે બદલો મળશે તે કેટલું ખાતરીપૂર્વક છે!
