Philippians 4
1 So then, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and garland, so stand in the LORD, beloved.
Daher, meine lieben, teuren Brüder, meine Freude und mein Kranz, steht fest im Herrn, Geliebte!
2 I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the LORD;
Ich mahne die Evodia und mahne die Syntyche, in Eintracht im Herrn zu sein.
3 and I also ask you, genuine yoke-fellow, be assisting those women who strove along with me in the good news, with Clement also, and the others, my fellow-workers, whose names [are] in [the] Scroll of Life.
Ich bitte, trauter Freund, auch dich: Nimm dich ihrer an! Sie haben sich mit mir fürs Evangelium gemüht, zusammen mit Klemens und den andern Mitarbeitern; ihre Namen stehen im Buche des Lebens.
4 Rejoice in the LORD always; again I will say, rejoice!
Freuet euch allezeit im Herrn! Ich wiederhole es: , Freuet euch!
5 Let your reasonableness be known to all men; the LORD [is] near;
Eure Güte werde allen Menschen kund! Der Herr ist nahe.
6 be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Habt keine Sorge, bringt vielmehr alle eure Anliegen in innigem Gebete mit Dank vor Gott.
7 and the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Der Friede Gottes, der jedes Begreifen übersteigt, wird eure Herzen und eure Gedanken in Christus Jesus behüten.
8 As to the rest, brothers, as many things as are true, as many as [are] revered, as many as [are] righteous, as many as [are] pure, as many as [are] lovely, as many as [are] of good report, if any worthiness, and if any praise, think on these things;
Endlich, Brüder, trachtet nach dem, was wahr, was würdig, was recht, was heilig, was liebenswürdig, was rühmlich, was tugendhaft ist oder sonstwie löblich.
9 the things that you also learned, and receive, and hear, and saw in me, do those, and the God of peace will be with you.
Was ihr gelernt und überkommen, gehört und auch an mir gesehen habt, das tut! Der Gott des Friedens wird mit euch sein.
10 And I rejoiced in the LORD greatly, that now at length you flourished again in caring for me, for which also you were caring, and lacked opportunity;
Eine große Freude war es mir im Herrn, weil ihr endlich einmal wiederum in der Lage wart, für mich zu sorgen. Ihr seid zwar immer so besorgt gewesen, doch hattet ihr nicht die Gelegenheit dazu.
11 I do not say that in respect of want, for I learned in the things in which I am—to be content;
Nicht so, als wollte ich jetzt von Entbehrungen sprechen; ich habe es ja gelernt, mit den Verhältnissen mich abzufinden.
12 I have known both to be abased, and I have known to abound; in everything and in all things I have been initiated, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want.
Ich kann in Armut und ich kann im Überflusse leben. Mit allem und mit jedem bin ich wohl vertraut, mit Sattsein und mit Hungerleiden; mit Reichsein und mit Darben.
13 I have strength for all things, in Christ’s strengthening me;
Ja, ich vermag alles, in dem, der mir die Kraft dazu gibt.
14 but you did well, having shared in my tribulation;
Ihr habt gleichwohl gut daran getan, daß ihr euch meiner Not angenommen habt.
15 and you have known, even you Philippians, that in the beginning of the good news when I went forth from Macedonia, no assembly communicated with me in regard to giving and receiving except you only;
Auch ihr wißt es, meine lieben Leute von Philippi: Als ich Mazedonien zu Anfang der Verkündigung des Glaubens verließ, stand keine der Gemeinden mit mir im Verhältnis des Gebens und Empfangens als ihr allein.
16 because in Thessalonica also, both once and again you sent to my need;
Schon nach Thessalonich habt ihr mehr als einmal mir etwas für meine Not geschickt.
17 not that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit that is overflowing to your account;
Nicht als ob ich die Gabe suchen würde; ich suche die Frucht in reichster Fülle, die euch gutgeschrieben werden wird.
18 and I have all things, and abound; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you—an odor of a refreshing fragrance—a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God:
Ich habe alles empfangen, und dies im Überfluß; ich bin so reich, seitdem ich eure Gabe durch Epaphroditus empfangen habe. Es war ein lieblicher Duft, ein angenehmes, Gott wohlgefälliges Opfer.
19 and my God will supply all your need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus;
Mein Gott wird alle eure Wünsche auf das herrlichste erfüllen in Christus Jesus nach seinem Reichtum.
Gott, unserm Vater, sei Preis in Ewigkeit der Ewigkeiten. Amen. (aiōn g165)
21 Every holy one in Christ Jesus greets you; the brothers with me greet you;
Grüßt jeden Heiligen in Christus Jesus! Es grüßen euch die Brüder, die bei mir sind.
22 all the holy ones greet you, and especially those of Caesar’s house.
Es grüßen euch die Heiligen alle, besonders die vom Hause des Kaisers.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you all! Amen.
Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus Christus sei mit eurem Geiste! Amen.
