Philippians 4
1 So then, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and garland, so stand in the LORD, beloved.
Ainsi donc, mes frères, mes bien-aimés que je chéris, vous, ma joie et ma couronne, restez fermement attachés au Seigneur, mes bien-aimés.
2 I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the LORD;
Je demande à Evodia et à Syntyché de vivre en bonne intelligence sous le regard du Seigneur.
3 and I also ask you, genuine yoke-fellow, be assisting those women who strove along with me in the good news, with Clement also, and the others, my fellow-workers, whose names [are] in [the] Scroll of Life.
Et quant à toi, mon vrai collègue, je te supplie de les supporter. Elles ont lutté pour l'Évangile avec moi, et aussi avec Clément et mes autres collaborateurs, dont les noms sont dans le livre de vie.
4 Rejoice in the LORD always; again I will say, rejoice!
Soyez toujours joyeux dans le Seigneur, je le répète: soyez, joyeux.
5 Let your reasonableness be known to all men; the LORD [is] near;
Que tout le monde connaisse votre douceur. Le Seigneur est proche;
6 be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
ne vous inquiétez de rien, mais, pour tout, priez; priez en rendant grâces et en exposant vos besoins à Dieu,
7 and the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
et la paix de Dieu, qui surpasse toute compréhension, gardera vos coeurs et vos pensées en Jésus-Christ.
8 As to the rest, brothers, as many things as are true, as many as [are] revered, as many as [are] righteous, as many as [are] pure, as many as [are] lovely, as many as [are] of good report, if any worthiness, and if any praise, think on these things;
Enfin, mes frères, tout ce qui est vrai, tout ce qui est respectable, tout ce qui est juste, tout ce qui est pur, tout ce qui est aimable, tout ce qui est honorable, tout ce qui est une vertu, tout ce qui est un éloge doit être l'objet de vos pensées.
9 the things that you also learned, and receive, and hear, and saw in me, do those, and the God of peace will be with you.
Ce que vous avez appris et reçu, ce que vous m'avez entendu dire, ce que vous m'avez vu faire, mettez-le en pratique, et le Dieu de paix sera avec vous.
10 And I rejoiced in the LORD greatly, that now at length you flourished again in caring for me, for which also you were caring, and lacked opportunity;
J'ai été extrêmement heureux dans le Seigneur de cette refloraison tardive de votre amitié et de ce qu'enfin vous avez pu penser à moi. Vous y songiez bien, mais vous n'aviez pas d'occasion.
11 I do not say that in respect of want, for I learned in the things in which I am—to be content;
Si je dis cela, ce n'est pas pour parler de ma pauvreté; j'ai appris à me contenter de ce que j'ai.
12 I have known both to be abased, and I have known to abound; in everything and in all things I have been initiated, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want.
Je sais être dans le besoin; je sais aussi avoir du superflu. Je suis initié à tout et partout; à être rassasié comme à avoir faim, à avoir le superflu comme à manquer du nécessaire.
13 I have strength for all things, in Christ’s strengthening me;
Je puis tout en Celui qui me fortifie.
14 but you did well, having shared in my tribulation;
Vous n'en avez pas moins bien fait de prendre votre part de ma détresse.
15 and you have known, even you Philippians, that in the beginning of the good news when I went forth from Macedonia, no assembly communicated with me in regard to giving and receiving except you only;
D'ailleurs vous savez, vous, les Philippiens, qu'au commencement de l'évangélisation, quand j'ai quitté la Macédoine, il n'y eut aucune Église, sauf la vôtre, qui se mit, en rapport avec moi et m'ouvrit un compte courant.
16 because in Thessalonica also, both once and again you sent to my need;
Ainsi, à Thessalonique, vous m'avez envoyé une fois, deux fois même, ce dont j'avais besoin.
17 not that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit that is overflowing to your account;
Ce n'est pas que je recherche les présents; mais je recherche le profit qui en résulte pour vous.
18 and I have all things, and abound; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you—an odor of a refreshing fragrance—a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God:
J'ai tout ce qu'il me faut, je surabonde même, je suis riche depuis que j'ai reçu ce que vous m'avez envoyé par Épaphrodite, délicieux parfum, sacrifice accepté et approuvé de Dieu!
19 and my God will supply all your need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus;
Mon Dieu, selon sa richesse, pourvoira glorieusement et en Jésus-Christ à tous vos besoins.
Qu'à notre Dieu et Père soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen. (aiōn g165)
21 Every holy one in Christ Jesus greets you; the brothers with me greet you;
Saluez en Jésus-Christ tous les fidèles. Les frères qui sont avec moi vous saluent.
22 all the holy ones greet you, and especially those of Caesar’s house.
Tous les fidèles vous saluent, particulièrement ceux de la maison de l'Empereur.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you all! Amen.
La grâce du Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit.
