< Philemon 1 >

1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timotheus the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,
キリスト・イエスの囚人たるパウロ及び兄弟テモテ、書を我らが愛する同勞者ピレモン、
2 and Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and the assembly in your house:
我らの姉妹アピヤ、我らと共に戰鬪をなせるアルキポ及び汝の家にある教會に贈る。
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
願はくは我らの父なる神および主イエス・キリストより賜ふ恩惠と平安と、汝らに在らんことを。
4 I give thanks to my God, always making mention of you in my prayers,
われ祈るとき常に汝をおぼえて我が神に感謝す。
5 hearing of your love and faith that you have to the Lord Jesus and toward all the holy ones,
これ主イエスと凡ての聖徒とに對する汝の愛と信仰とを聞きたればなり。
6 that the fellowship of your faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that [is] in you toward Christ Jesus;
願ふところは、汝の信仰の交際の活動により、人々われらの中なる凡ての善き業を知りて、榮光をキリストに歸するに至らんことなり。
7 for we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the yearnings of the holy ones have been refreshed through you, brother.
兄弟よ、我なんぢの愛によりて大なる勸喜と慰安とを得たり。聖徒の心は汝によりて安んぜられたればなり。
8 For this reason, having in Christ much boldness to command you that which is fit—
この故に、われキリストに在りて、汝になすべき事を聊かも憚らず命じ得れど、
9 because of the love I rather plead, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;
むしろ愛の故によりて汝にねがふ。
10 I beg you concerning my child—whom I begot in my bonds—Onesimus,
既に年 老いて今はキリスト・イエスの囚人となれる我パウロ、縲絏の中にて生みし我が子オネシモの事をなんぢに願ふ。
11 who once was to you unprofitable, and now is profitable to me and to you,
かれ前には汝に益なき者なりしが、今は汝にも我にも益ある者となれり。
12 whom I sent again to you—he who is my own heart,
我かれを汝に歸す、かれは我が心なり。
13 whom I intended to retain to myself, that in your behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of the good news,
我は彼をわが許に留めおきて、我が福音のために縲絏にある間、なんぢに代りて我に事へしめんと欲したれど、
14 but apart from your mind I willed to do nothing, so that your good deed may not be as of necessity, but of willingness,
なんぢの承諾を經ずして斯くするを好まざりき、是なんぢの善の止むを得ざるに出でずして心より出でんことを欲したればなり。
15 for perhaps because of this he departed for an hour, that you may have him continuously, (aiōnios g166)
彼が暫時なんぢを離れしは、或は汝かれを永遠に保ち、 (aiōnios g166)
16 no longer as a servant, but above a servant—a beloved brother, especially to me, and how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the LORD!
もはや奴隷の如くせず、奴隷に勝りて愛する兄弟の如くせん爲なりしやも知るべからず。我は殊に彼を愛す、まして汝は肉によりても主によりても、之を愛せざる可けんや。
17 If, then, you have fellowship with me, receive him as me,
汝もし我を友とせば、請ふ、われを納るるごとく彼を納れよ。
18 and if he did hurt to you, or owes anything, charge this to me;
彼もし汝に不義をなし、または汝に負債あらば、之を我に負はせよ。
19 I, Paul, wrote with my hand, I will repay; besides, that I may not say that you also owe to me yourself.
我パウロ手づから之を記す、われ償はん、汝われに身を以て償ふべき負債あれど、我これを言はず。
20 Yes, brother, may I have profit of you in the LORD; refresh my yearnings in the LORD;
兄弟よ、請ふ、なんぢ主に在りて我に益を得させよ、キリストに在りて我が心を安んぜよ。
21 I wrote to you having been confident in your obedience, having known that you will also do above what I may say;
我なんぢの從順を確信して之を書き贈る。わが言ふところに勝りて汝の行はんことを知るなり。
22 and at the same time also prepare for me a lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I will be granted to you.
而して我がために宿を備へよ、我なんぢらの祈により、遂に我が身の汝らに與へられんことを望めばなり。
23 Epaphras greets you (my fellow-captive in Christ Jesus),
キリスト・イエスに在りて我とともに囚人となれるエパフラス、
24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow-workmen!
及び我が同勞者マルコ、アリスタルコ、デマス、ルカ皆なんぢに安否を問ふ。
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit! Amen.
願はくは主イエス・キリストの恩惠、なんぢらの靈と偕にあらんことを。
