1 And it comes to pass on the day [when] Moses [was] finishing to set up the Dwelling Place, that he anoints it, and sanctifies it, and all its vessels, and the altar, and all its vessels, and he anoints them, and sanctifies them,
On the same day that Moses finished putting up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and dedicated it, along with all its furniture, the altar, and all its utensils.
2 and the princes of Israel (heads of the house of their fathers, they [are] princes of the tribes, they who are standing over those numbered) bring near,
The Israelite leaders who were the heads of their families came and gave an offering. They were the same leaders of the tribes who had worked on the registration of the Israelites.
3 indeed, they bring their offering before YHWH of six covered wagons and twelve oxen—a wagon for two of the princes, and an ox for one—and they bring them near before the Dwelling Place.
They brought to the Lord an offering of six covered wagons and twelve oxen. Each leader gave an ox, and two leaders shared in giving a wagon. They presented them in front of the Tabernacle.
4 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
The Lord told Moses,
5 “Receive [these] from them, and they have been [used] for doing the service of the Tent of Meeting, and you have given them to the Levites, each according to his service.”
“Accept what they're giving you and use them in the work of the Tent of Meeting. Give them to the Levites to use as required.”
6 And Moses takes the wagons and the oxen, and gives them to the Levites.
Moses accepted the wagons and oxen and handed them over to the Levites.
7 He has given the two wagons and the four oxen to the sons of Gershon, according to their service,
He gave two wagons and four oxen to the families of Gershon to use as they required.
8 and he has given the four wagons and the eight oxen to the sons of Merari, according to their service, by the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest,
He gave four wagons and eight oxen to the families of Merari, to use as they required. The work was all to be done under the direction of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.
9 but he has not given [any] to the sons of Kohath, for the service of the holy place [is] on them, [which] they carry on the shoulder.
He didn't give any wagons or oxen to the Kohathites because their responsibility was to carry on their shoulders the holy objects assigned to their care.
10 And the princes bring the dedication of the altar near in the day of its being anointed, indeed, the princes bring their offering near before the altar.
The day the altar was anointed, the leaders came forward with their dedicatory offerings, presenting them in front of it.
11 And YHWH says to Moses, “One prince a day, one prince a day—they bring their offering near for the dedication of the altar.”
The Lord told Moses, “Have one leader come every day and present his offering for the dedication of the altar.”
12 And he who is bringing his offering near on the first day is Nahshon son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.
The first day Nahshon, son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah came forward with his offering.
13 And his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

14 one golden spoon of ten [shekels], full of incense;

15 one bullock, a son of the herd, one ram, one lamb, a son of a year, for a burnt-offering;
a young bull, a ram, and a one-year-old male lamb as a burnt offering,
16 one kid of the goats for a sin-offering;
a male goat as a sin offering,
17 and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings: two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this [is] the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.

18 On the second day Nethaneel son of Zuar, prince of Issachar, has brought [an offering] near.

19 He has brought his offering near: one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

24 On the third day, Eliab son of Helon, prince of the sons of Zebulun—

25 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

36 On the fifth day, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai, prince of the sons of Simeon—

37 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

42 On the sixth day, Eliasaph son of Deuel, prince of the sons of Gad—

43 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

48 On the seventh day, Elishama son of Ammihud, prince of the sons of Ephraim—

49 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

54 On the eighth day, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur, prince of the sons of Manasseh—

55 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

60 On the ninth day, Abidan son of Gideoni, prince of the sons of Benjamin—

61 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

66 On the tenth day, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai, prince of the sons of Dan—

67 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

72 On the eleventh day, Pagiel son of Ocran, prince of the sons of Asher—

73 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

78 On the twelfth day, Ahira son of Enan, prince of the sons of Naphtali—
The twelfth day Ahira, son of Enan, the leader of the tribe of Naphtali, came forward.
79 his offering [is] one silver dish, its weight one hundred and thirty [shekels], [and] one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the holy place, both of them full of flour mixed with oil for a present;

82 one kid of the goats for a sin-offering;

83 and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings: two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this [is] the offering of Ahira son of Enan.
and a peace offering of two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five year-old male lambs. This was the offering of Ahira, son of Enan.
84 This [is] the dedication of the altar, in the day of its being anointed by the princes of Israel: twelve silver dishes, twelve silver bowls, twelve golden spoons;
So on the day the altar was anointed, the dedicatory offerings brought by the Israelite leaders were twelve silver plates, twelve silver bowls, and twelve gold dishes.
85 each silver dish [is] one hundred and thirty [shekels], and each bowl seventy; all the silver of the vessels [is] two thousand and four hundred [shekels], by the shekel of the holy place;
Each silver platter weighed a hundred and thirty shekels, and each bowl weighed seventy shekels. The total weight of the silver was two thousand four hundred shekels, (using the sanctuary shekel standard).
86 twelve golden spoons full of incense, ten [shekels] each spoon, by the shekel of the holy place; all the gold of the spoons [is] one hundred and twenty [shekels];
The twelve gold dishes filled with incense each weighed ten shekels, (using the sanctuary shekel standard). The total weight of the gold was a hundred and twenty shekels.
87 all the oxen for burnt-offering [are] twelve bullocks; twelve rams, twelve lambs, sons of a year, and their present, and twelve kids of the goats for sin-offering;
The animals presented as a burnt offering were twelve bulls, twelve rams, and twelve one-year-old male lambs, as well as their grain offerings, and twelve male goats as the sin offering.
88 and all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace-offerings [are] twenty-four bullocks; sixty rams, sixty male goats, sixty lambs, sons of a year; this is the dedication of the altar in the day of its being anointed.
The animals presented as a peace offering were twenty-four bulls, sixty rams, sixty male goats, and sixty one-year-old male lambs. This was the dedicatory offering for the altar once it had been anointed.
89 And in the entering of Moses into the Tent of Meeting to speak with Him, indeed, he hears the voice speaking to him from off the propitiatory covering which [is] on the Ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; and He speaks to him.
Whenever Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the Lord, he would hear the voice speaking to him from the atonement cover on the Ark of the Testimony between the two cherubim. This is how the Lord spoke to him.
