< Numbers 35 >

1 And YHWH speaks to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, [near] Jericho, saying,
Bere a Israelfo bɔɔ atenase wɔ Yordan ho, Moab tataw so wɔ Yeriko akyi no, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
2 “Command the sons of Israel, and they have given to the Levites cities to inhabit from the inheritance of their possession; you also give [the] outskirt around them, of the cities, to the Levites.
“Ka kyerɛ Israelfo no na wɔmfa wɔn agyapade no mu bi a ɛyɛ nkurow ne ɛho mmoa adidibea mma Lewifo no.
3 And the cities have been for them to inhabit, and their outskirts are for their livestock, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
Nkurow no mu na wɔbɛtena na wɔn anantwi, wɔn nguan ne wɔn mmoa a aka no nso akɔ adidi wɔ adidibea hɔ.
4 And the outskirts of the cities which you give to the Levites [are], from the wall of the city and outside, one thousand cubits around.
“Wɔn mmoa adidibea no kɛse befi kurow no afasu ho a ne fa biara trɛw yɛ anammɔn apem ne ahannum.
5 And you have measured from the outside of the city: the east quarter—two thousand by the cubit, and the south quarter—two thousand by the cubit, and the west quarter—two thousand by the cubit, and the north quarter—two thousand by the cubit; and the city [is] in the midst; this is the outskirts of the cities to them.
Munsusuw anammɔn mpensa mfi kurow no afasu no ho wɔ nʼafanan nyinaa. Eyi bɛyɛ mmoa adidibea kɛse ama nkurow no.
6 And the cities which you give to the Levites [are] the six cities of refuge, which you give for the fleeing there of the manslayer, and besides them you give forty-two cities;
“Nkurow a mode bɛma Lewifo no no mu asia bɛyɛ guankɔbea nkuropɔn, baabi a obi a wafom akum ɔfoforo no, betumi aguan akɔ. Momfa nkurow aduanan abien nka ho mma wɔn.
7 all the cities which you give to the Levites [are] forty-eight cities, them and their outskirts.
Ne nyinaa bɛyɛ nkurow aduanan awotwe ne ho mmoa adidibea.
8 And the cities which you give [are] from the possession of the sons of Israel; from the many you multiply, and from the few you diminish; each, according to his inheritance which they inherit, gives to the Levites from his cities.”
Saa nkurow yi befi Israelfo no agyapade mu. Mmusuakuw no mu akɛse bɛma Lewifo no nkurow bebree na mmusuakuw nketewa no ama kakraa bi. Abusuakuw biara bɛma sɛnea nʼagyapade kɛse te.”
9 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
10 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and you have said to them: When you are passing over the Jordan to the land of Canaan,
“Ka kyerɛ Israelfo no se, ‘Sɛ mutwa Yordan du Kanaan a,
11 and have prepared cities for yourselves—they are cities of refuge to you—then a manslayer, striking a person through ignorance, has fled there,
mompaw nkurow bi mfa nyɛ guankɔbea nkurow a, obiara a ɔbɛfom akum onipa no betumi aguan akɔ hɔ.
12 and the cities have been for a refuge to you from the redeemer, and the manslayer does not die until his standing before the congregation for judgment.
Saa nkurow yi bɛyɛ guankɔbea a ebegye no afi owufo no abusuafo a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔtɔ owufo no wu so were no nsa mu; na ɛnsɛ sɛ wokum owudifo no gye sɛ wɔadi nʼasɛm abu no kumfɔ ansa.
13 As for the cities which you give, six [are] cities of refuge to you;
Ɛsɛ sɛ wosisi guankɔbea nkurow yi mu abiɛsa wɔ Kanaan asase so
14 three of the cities you give from beyond the Jordan, and three of the cities you give in the land of Canaan; they are cities of refuge.
na wosisi abiɛsa nso wɔ Asubɔnten Yordan apuei fam.
15 For sons of Israel, and for a sojourner, and for a settler in their midst, are these six cities for a refuge, for the fleeing there of anyone striking a person through ignorance.
Ɛnyɛ Israelfo nko na ɛhɔ bɛyɛ wɔn guankɔbea, na mmom, ɛbɛyɛ guankɔbea ama ahɔho ne akwantufo nyinaa.
16 And if he has struck him with an instrument of iron, and he dies, he [is] a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.
“‘Nanso sɛ obi de dade pema sin bi bɔ obi kum no a, wɔfa no sɛ wadi awu enti ɛsɛ sɛ wokum owudifo no.
17 And if he has struck him with a stone [in] the hand, with which he could die, and he dies, he [is] a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.
Anaasɛ, sɛ wɔde ɔbo kɛse bi bɔ obi ma owu a, ɛyɛ awudi enti ɛsɛ sɛ wokum owudifo no.
18 Or [if] he has struck him with a wooden instrument [in] the hand, with which he could die, and he dies, he [is] a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.
Saa ara nso na sɛ wɔde dua na ekum no a ɛte ara ne no.
19 The redeemer of blood puts the murderer to death himself; in his coming against him he puts him to death.
Sɛ ɔweretɔni no hyia owudifo no wɔ baabiara a, ɔwɔ ho kwan sɛ okum no bi.
20 And if he pushes him in hatred, or has cast [anything] at him by lying in wait, and he dies,
Enti sɛ obi nam ɔtan so tow biribi bɔ obi, anaa, sɛ ɔtetɛw no,
21 or he has struck him with his hand in enmity, and he dies, the striker is certainly put to death; he [is] a murderer; the redeemer of blood puts the murderer to death in his coming against him.
anaa ɔde abufuw bɔ no kuturuku na onii no wu a, ɔyɛ owudifo nti ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no.
22 And if, in an instant, without enmity, he has pushed him, or has cast any instrument at him without lying in wait,
“‘Na sɛ emfi ɔtan so na obi sum ɔfoforo, anaa wanhyɛ da na ɔtow biribi ma ɛkɔbɔ obi,
23 or with any stone with which he could die, without seeing, indeed, causes [it] to fall on him, and he dies, and he [is] not his enemy, nor seeking his evil,
anaasɛ wanhu no na ogyaa ɔbo bi a ɛso a ebetumi akum no mu ma ekokum no a, esiane sɛ saa onipa no nyɛ ɔtamfo na onkura adwene bɔne bi nti,
24 then the congregation has judged between the striker and the redeemer of blood by these judgments.
ɛyɛ bagua no asɛde sɛ wodi asɛm na wɔfa saa mmarakwan yi so bu ɔweretɔni no nea ne nsa apa no ntam atɛn.
25 And the congregation has delivered the manslayer out of the hand of the redeemer of blood, and the congregation has caused him to return to the city of his refuge, to where he has fled, and he has dwelt in it until the death of the chief priest who has been anointed with the holy oil.
Ɛsɛ sɛ bagua no bɔ nea ne nsa apa no ho ban fi ɔweretɔni no nsam na wɔde nea ne nsa apa no san kɔ guankɔbea kuropɔn a oguan kɔɔ mu no mu. Ɛsɛ sɛ nea ne nsa apa no tena hɔ ara kosi sɛ ɔsɔfopanyin a wɔsraa no ngo bewu.
26 And if the manslayer indeed goes out [from] the border of the city of his refuge to where he flees,
“‘Nanso sɛ nea ne nsa apa no no fi guankɔbea kuropɔn a waguan akɔ mu no no ahye so
27 and the redeemer of blood has found him at the outside of the border of the city of his refuge, and the redeemer of blood has slain the manslayer, blood [is] not [reckoned] to him;
na ɔweretɔni no hu no wɔ hɔ a obetumi akum no a ɔrenni awudi ho fɔ.
28 for he dwells in the city of his refuge until the death of the chief priest; and after the death of the chief priest the manslayer turns back to the city of his possession.
Ɛsɛ sɛ nea ne nsa apa no tena guankɔbea kuropɔn no mu ara kosi sɛ ɔsɔfopanyin bewu. Ɔsɔfopanyin wu akyi nkutoo na obetumi asan akɔ nʼankasa agyapade ho.
29 And these things have been for a statute of judgment to you throughout your generations, in all your dwellings.
“‘Ɛsɛ sɛ eyi yɛ mmara a mudi so wɔ awo ntoatoaso a ɛbɛba no nyinaa mu wɔ baabiara a mobɛtena.
30 Whoever strikes a person, by the mouth of witnesses [one] slays the murderer; and one witness does not testify against a person to cause [him] to die.
“‘Ɛsɛ sɛ wokum obiara a obekum obi, nanso gye sɛ nnansefo a wɔboro onipa baako di tia no ansa na ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no. Sɛ onipa baako pɛ na odi adanse tia no de a, ɛno de, ɛnsɛ sɛ wokum no.
31 And you take no atonement for the life of a murderer who [is] condemned to die, for he is certainly put to death;
“‘Munnnye owudifo a ɛsɛ sɛ owu no ti mpata, nnyina so nnyaa no. Ɛsɛ sɛ wokum no.
32 and you take no atonement for him [who had] to flee to the city of his refuge, to return to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
“‘Munnnye obi a waguan akɔ guankɔbea kuropɔn mu no ti mpata nnyina so mma no nsan mmɛtena nʼasase so bere a ɔsɔfopanyin bi nwui.
33 And you do not profane the land which you [are] in, for blood profanes the land; as for the land, it is not pardoned for blood which is shed in it except by the blood of him who sheds it;
“‘Munngu asase a mote so no ho fi. Awudi gu asase ho fi, na wɔrentumi nyɛ mpata foforo biara mma asase a wɔahwie mogya agu so gye sɛ wɔde nea ohwiee mogya gui no mogya yɛ okum owudifo no.
34 and you do not defile the land in which you are dwelling, in the midst of which I dwell, for I, YHWH, dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel.”
Munngu asase a mote so ne faako a mete no ho fi, efisɛ Me, Awurade no, mete Israelfo no mu.’”
