Numbers 35
1 And YHWH speaks to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, [near] Jericho, saying,
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋୟାବ-ପଦାରେ ଯିରୀହୋ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀ ସମୀପରେ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,
2 “Command the sons of Israel, and they have given to the Levites cities to inhabit from the inheritance of their possession; you also give [the] outskirt around them, of the cities, to the Levites.
“ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ ଏହି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦିଅ; ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅଧିକୃତ ବାଣ୍ଟରୁ କେତେକ ବସତି-ନଗର ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେହି ନଗରମାନର ତଳିଭୂମି ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେସବୁର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗସ୍ଥ ଭୂମି ଦେବ।
3 And the cities have been for them to inhabit, and their outskirts are for their livestock, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
ତହିଁରେ ସେହି ସବୁ ନଗରରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନିବାସ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ତହିଁର ତଳିଭୂମିସବୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଶୁ, ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଓ ଜୀବମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ହେବ।
4 And the outskirts of the cities which you give to the Levites [are], from the wall of the city and outside, one thousand cubits around.
ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଦେବ, ସେହିସବୁର ତଳିଭୂମି ନଗର-ପ୍ରାଚୀରଠାରୁ ବାହାରେ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ ହେବ।
5 And you have measured from the outside of the city: the east quarter—two thousand by the cubit, and the south quarter—two thousand by the cubit, and the west quarter—two thousand by the cubit, and the north quarter—two thousand by the cubit; and the city [is] in the midst; this is the outskirts of the cities to them.
ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନଗରର ବାହାରେ ତହିଁର ପୂର୍ବ ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ, ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ, ପଶ୍ଚିମ ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ ଓ ଉତ୍ତର ସୀମା ଦୁଇ ସହସ୍ର ହସ୍ତ ପରିମିତ କରିବ; ନଗର ତହିଁର ମଧ୍ୟସ୍ଥଳରେ ରହିବ। ଏହା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନଗରର ତଳିଭୂମି ହେବ।
6 And the cities which you give to the Levites [are] the six cities of refuge, which you give for the fleeing there of the manslayer, and besides them you give forty-two cities;
ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଦେବ, ତହିଁରୁ ଛଅଗୋଟି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବ, ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସେଠାକୁ ପଳାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହା ଦେବ; ଆଉ ତାହା ବ୍ୟତୀତ ଆହୁରି ବୟାଳିଶ ନଗର ଦେବ।
7 all the cities which you give to the Levites [are] forty-eight cities, them and their outskirts.
ସର୍ବସୁଦ୍ଧା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଠଚାଳିଶ ନଗର ଦେବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଗର ସଙ୍ଗେ ତହିଁର ତଳିଭୂମି ଦେବ।
8 And the cities which you give [are] from the possession of the sons of Israel; from the many you multiply, and from the few you diminish; each, according to his inheritance which they inherit, gives to the Levites from his cities.”
ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାରରୁ ସେହି ସବୁ ନଗର ଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ନେବ ଓ ଅଳ୍ପ ଲୋକଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅଳ୍ପ ନେବ; ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ବଂଶ ଆପଣାର ଅଧିକୃତ ଅଧିକାରାନୁସାରେ ଆପଣା ନଗରମାନଙ୍କରୁ ଲେବୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେବେ।”
9 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,
10 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and you have said to them: When you are passing over the Jordan to the land of Canaan,
“ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ କିଣାନ ଦେଶରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ,
11 and have prepared cities for yourselves—they are cities of refuge to you—then a manslayer, striking a person through ignorance, has fled there,
ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ କେତେଗୁଡ଼ିଏ ନଗର ନିରୂପଣ କରିବ, ତହିଁରେ ଯେଉଁ ଜନ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତିରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ଏପରି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସେଠାକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇ ପାରିବ।
12 and the cities have been for a refuge to you from the redeemer, and the manslayer does not die until his standing before the congregation for judgment.
ପୁଣି, ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ବିଚାରାର୍ଥେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯେପରି ନ ମରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେହି ନଗରମାନ ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତାଠାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ସ୍ଥାନ ହେବ;
13 As for the cities which you give, six [are] cities of refuge to you;
ଏହିରୂପେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଦେବ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଛଅ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବ।
14 three of the cities you give from beyond the Jordan, and three of the cities you give in the land of Canaan; they are cities of refuge.
ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନର ପୂର୍ବପାରିରେ ତିନି ନଗର ଦେବ ଓ କିଣାନ ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତିନି ନଗର ଦେବ; ତାହାସବୁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର ହେବ।
15 For sons of Israel, and for a sojourner, and for a settler in their midst, are these six cities for a refuge, for the fleeing there of anyone striking a person through ignorance.
ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଦେଶୀ ଓ ପ୍ରବାସୀ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେହି ଛଅ ନଗର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ସ୍ଥାନ ହେବ; ତହିଁରେ ଯେଉଁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜନ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତିରେ କୌଣସି ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ସେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇପାରେ।
16 And if he has struck him with an instrument of iron, and he dies, he [is] a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.
ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି କେହି ଲୌହ ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ଦ୍ୱାରା କାହାରିକୁ ଏପରି ଆଘାତ କରେ ଯେ, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ; ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ।
17 And if he has struck him with a stone [in] the hand, with which he could die, and he dies, he [is] a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.
ଆଉ ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମରିପାରେ, ଏପରି ପଥର ହସ୍ତରେ ନେଇ ଯଦି ସେ କାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ; ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ।
18 Or [if] he has struck him with a wooden instrument [in] the hand, with which he could die, and he dies, he [is] a murderer: the murderer is certainly put to death.
ଅବା ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମରିପାରେ, ଏପରି କୌଣସି କାଷ୍ଠ-ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ହସ୍ତରେ ନେଇ ଯଦି ସେ କାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ; ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ।
19 The redeemer of blood puts the murderer to death himself; in his coming against him he puts him to death.
ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ନିଜେ ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀକୁ ବଧ କରିବ; ସେ ତାହାର ଦେଖା ପାଇଲେ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରିବ।
20 And if he pushes him in hatred, or has cast [anything] at him by lying in wait, and he dies,
ଆଉ ଯଦି ହିଂସା କରି କେହି କାହାକୁ ଧକ୍କା ମାରେ, ଅବା ଛକି ବସି ତାହା ଉପରେ କିଛି ପକାଏ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ;
21 or he has struck him with his hand in enmity, and he dies, the striker is certainly put to death; he [is] a murderer; the redeemer of blood puts the murderer to death in his coming against him.
କିଅବା ଶତ୍ରୁତା କରି ଯଦି ସେ କାହାକୁ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତରେ ଆଘାତ କରେ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ତେବେ ଯେ ତାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କଲା, ତାହାର ଅବଶ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ହେବ; ସେ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ଦେଖା ପାଇଲେ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରିବ।
22 And if, in an instant, without enmity, he has pushed him, or has cast any instrument at him without lying in wait,
ମାତ୍ର ଯଦି କେହି ଶତ୍ରୁତା ବିନା ହଠାତ୍ କାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରେ, ଅବା ଛକି ନ ବସି କାହା ଉପରେ କୌଣସି ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ପକାଏ,
23 or with any stone with which he could die, without seeing, indeed, causes [it] to fall on him, and he dies, and he [is] not his enemy, nor seeking his evil,
କିଅବା ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ମରିପାରେ, ଏପରି କୌଣସି ପଥର କାହାରି ଉପରେ ନ ଦେଖି ପକାଏ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସେ ମରେ, ଅଥଚ ସେ ତାହାର ଶତ୍ରୁ କି ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ଚେଷ୍ଟାକାରୀ ହୋଇ ନ ଥାଏ,
24 then the congregation has judged between the striker and the redeemer of blood by these judgments.
ତେବେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ସେହି ବଧକାରୀର ଓ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତାର ବିଷୟ ଏହି ଶାସନାନୁସାରେ ବିଚାର କରିବେ।
25 And the congregation has delivered the manslayer out of the hand of the redeemer of blood, and the congregation has caused him to return to the city of his refuge, to where he has fled, and he has dwelt in it until the death of the chief priest who has been anointed with the holy oil.
ଆଉ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତାର ହସ୍ତରୁ ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇଥିଲା, ସେହି ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରରେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତାହାକୁ ପହୁଞ୍ଚାଇ ଦେବେ ଓ ଯେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପବିତ୍ର ତୈଳରେ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତ ମହାଯାଜକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ନ ହୁଏ, ସେ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବାସ କରିବ।
26 And if the manslayer indeed goes out [from] the border of the city of his refuge to where he flees,
ମାତ୍ର ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ଯେଉଁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଇଅଛି, ଯଦି କୌଣସି ସମୟରେ ସେ ତହିଁର ସୀମାର ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଏ
27 and the redeemer of blood has found him at the outside of the border of the city of his refuge, and the redeemer of blood has slain the manslayer, blood [is] not [reckoned] to him;
ଓ ରକ୍ତର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗର-ସୀମାର ବାହାରେ ତାହାକୁ ପାଏ ଓ ତହିଁର ପ୍ରତିହନ୍ତା ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧୀ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
28 for he dwells in the city of his refuge until the death of the chief priest; and after the death of the chief priest the manslayer turns back to the city of his possession.
କାରଣ ମହାଯାଜକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆପଣା ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରରେ ତାହାର ଥିବା ଉଚିତ; ମାତ୍ର ମହାଯାଜକର ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ହେଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ଆପଣା ଅଧିକାର ଗୃହକୁ ଫେରିଯାଇ ପାରିବ।
29 And these things have been for a statute of judgment to you throughout your generations, in all your dwellings.
ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପୁରୁଷାନୁକ୍ରମେ ସକଳ ନିବାସ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଏହିସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିଚାରର ବିଧି ହେବ।
30 Whoever strikes a person, by the mouth of witnesses [one] slays the murderer; and one witness does not testify against a person to cause [him] to die.
ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କୌଣସି ଲୋକକୁ ବଧ କରେ, ସେହି ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ସାକ୍ଷୀମାନଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ହତ ହେବ; ମାତ୍ର ଏକ ସାକ୍ଷୀର ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ଲୋକର ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
31 And you take no atonement for the life of a murderer who [is] condemned to die, for he is certainly put to death;
ଆହୁରି ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ନରହତ୍ୟାକାରୀର ପ୍ରାଣ ନିମନ୍ତେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବ ନାହିଁ; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ହତ ହେବ।
32 and you take no atonement for him [who had] to flee to the city of his refuge, to return to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
ପୁଣି, କେହି ଯେପରି ଆପଣା ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନଗରକୁ ପଳାଇ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆପଣା ଦେଶକୁ ଆସି ବାସ କରେ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଜକର ମରଣ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତାହା ନିମନ୍ତେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
33 And you do not profane the land which you [are] in, for blood profanes the land; as for the land, it is not pardoned for blood which is shed in it except by the blood of him who sheds it;
ଏହିରୂପେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିବାସ ଦେଶ ଅପବିତ୍ର କରିବ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ରକ୍ତ ହିଁ ଦେଶକୁ ଅପବିତ୍ର କରେ; ଆଉ ଦେଶରେ ଯେଉଁ ରକ୍ତପାତ ହୁଏ, ରକ୍ତପାତୀର ରକ୍ତ ବିନା ତହିଁ ନିମନ୍ତେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ କରାଯାଇ ନ ପାରେ।
34 and you do not defile the land in which you are dwelling, in the midst of which I dwell, for I, YHWH, dwell in the midst of the sons of Israel.”
ଏଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଯେଉଁ ନିବାସ ଦେଶରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାସ କରୁଅଛୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ଅଶୁଚି କରିବ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାସ କରୁଅଛୁ।’”
