Numbers 32
1 And much livestock has [belonged] to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad—very many; and they see the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place [is] a place [for] livestock;
Ilmaan Ruubeenii fi ilmaan Gaad warri loonii fi bushaayee hedduu qaban akka biyyi Yaʼizeerii fi biyyi Giliʼaad horii isaaniitiif tolu argan.
2 and the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben come in and speak to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
Isaan gara Musee, gara Eleʼaazaar lubichaatii fi gara hooggantoota waldaa dhufanii akkana jedhan;
3 “Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
“Axaaroti, Diiboon, Yaʼizeer, Niimraa, Heshboon, Eleʼaalee, Sebaamaa, Neboo fi Beʼoon,
4 the land which YHWH has struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.”
biyyi Waaqayyo fuula waldaa Israaʼel duratti rukute sun horiif tolaa dha; nu tajaajiltoonni kees horii qabna.
5 And they say, “If we have found grace in your eyes, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; cause us not to pass over the Jordan.”
Yoo nu fuula kee duratti fudhatama argannee jiraanne biyyi kun nu tajaajiltoota keetiif handhuuraa taʼee haa kennamu. Akka nu Yordaanos gama ceenus hin godhin.”
6 And Moses says to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, “Do your brothers go to the battle, and you—do you sit here?
Museenis ilmaan Gaadii fi ilmaan Ruubeeniin akkana jedhe; “Obboloonni keessan duula dhaqanii isin immoo as teessuu?
7 And why discourage the heart of the sons of Israel from passing over to the land which YHWH has given to them?
Isin maaliif akka Israaʼeloonni biyya Waaqayyo isaanii kenne sanatti ceʼanii hin galleef abdii isaan kutachiiftuu?
8 Thus your fathers did in my sending them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land;
Kun waanuma abbootiin keessan gaafa ani akka isaan biyyattii ilaalaniif jedhee Qaadesh Barnee irraa isaan erge sana hojjetanii dha.
9 and they go up to the Valley of Eshcol, and see the land, and discourage the heart of the sons of Israel so as not to go into the land which YHWH has given to them;
Isaanis erga gara Sulula Eshkool dhaqanii biyya sana arganii booddee akka Israaʼeloonni biyya Waaqayyo isaaniif kennetti hin galleef abdii isaan kutachiisan.
10 and the anger of YHWH burns in that day, and He swears, saying,
Dheekkamsi Waaqayyoos guyyuma sana bobaʼe; innis akkana jedhee kakate;
11 They do not see—the men who are coming up out of Egypt from a son of twenty years and upward—the ground which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, for they have not been fully after Me,
‘Waan isaan garaa guutuudhaan na faana deemuu didaniif, namoota waggaa digdamaatii fi hammasii olii kanneen biyya Gibxiitii baʼanii dhufan keessaa namni tokko iyyuu biyya ani Abrahaamiif, Yisihaaqii fi Yaaqoobiif waadaa gale sana hin argu.
12 except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have been fully after YHWH;
Kaaleb ilma Yefunee kan gosa Qeneezii fi Iyyaasuu ilma Nuuni malee namni tokko iyyuu hin argu; isaan lamaan garaa guutuudhaan Waaqayyo duukaa buʼaniiruutii.’
13 and the anger of YHWH burns against Israel, and He causes them to wander in the wilderness [for] forty years, until the consumption of all the generation which is doing evil in the eyes of YHWH.
Dheekkamsi Waaqayyoo Israaʼel irratti bobaʼe; innis hamma dhaloonni fuula isaa duratti waan hamaa hojjete sun hundi dhumutti akka isaan waggaa afurtama gammoojjii keessa jooran godhe.
14 And behold, you have risen in the stead of your fathers, an increase of sinful men, to add yet to the fury of the anger of YHWH toward Israel;
“Yaa sanyii cubbamootaa nana, isin kunoo dheekkamsa Waaqayyoo kan Israaʼel irratti bobaʼe sana ittuma caalchisuuf iddoo abbootii keessanii buutaniirtu.
15 when you turn back from after Him, then He has added yet to leave him in the wilderness, and you have done corruptly to all this people.”
Yoo isin isa duukaa buʼuu irraa garagaltan inni ammas gammoojjii kana keessatti saba kana hunda ni dhiisa; isinis uummata kana ni balleessitu.”
16 And they come near to him and say, “We build folds for the flock here for our livestock, and cities for our infants;
Isaan gara isaa dhufanii akkana jedhaniin; “Nu asitti horii keenyaaf dallaa, dubartootaa fi ijoollee keenyaaf immoo magaalaawwan ijaarra.
17 but we are armed, hastening before the sons of Israel until we have brought them to their place; and our infants have dwelt in the cities of defense because of the inhabitants of the land;
Nu garuu hamma lafa isaaniitiin isaan geenyutti hidhannee Israaʼel dura deemuuf qophaaʼoo dha. Yeroo kanatti akka jiraattoonni biyyattii isaan hin tuqneef dubartoonnii fi ijoolleen keenya magaalaawwan dallaa jabaa qaban keessa haa jiraatan.
18 we do not return to our houses until the sons of Israel have each inherited his inheritance,
Hamma tokkoon tokkoon Israaʼelootaa dhaala ofii isaanii argatanitti nu mana keenyatti hin deebinu.
19 for we do not inherit with them across the Jordan and beyond, for our inheritance has come to us beyond the Jordan at the [sun]-rising.”
Sababii dhaalli keenya laga Yordaanos irraa gara baʼaatti nuuf kennameef nu Yordaanos irraa gama kaaniin isaan wajjin waan dhaallu hin qabnu.”
20 And Moses says to them, “If you do this thing, if you are armed before YHWH for battle,
Museenis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Yoo isin waan kana gootan, yoo isin fuula Waaqayyoo duratti hidhattanii duulaaf kaatan,
21 and every armed one of you has passed over the Jordan before YHWH, until His dispossessing His enemies from before Him,
yoo isin hundinuu hamma inni diinota ofii isaa fuula ofii isaa duraa ariʼee baasutti hidhattanii fuula Waaqayyoo dura Yordaanosin ceetan,
22 and the land has been subdued before YHWH, then afterward you return, and have been acquitted by YHWH and by Israel, and this land has been to you for a possession before YHWH.
yeroo biyyattiin fuula Waaqayyoo duratti moʼatamtutti isin itti gaafatama Waaqayyoo fi saba Israaʼeliif qabdan irraa ni bilisoomtu. Biyyi sunis fuula Waaqayyoo duratti dhaala keessan taʼa.
23 And if you do not do so, behold, you have sinned against YHWH, and know that your sin finds you;
“Garuu isin yoo waan kana gochuu baattan, kunoo Waaqayyotti cubbuu hojjechuu keessan; akka cubbuun keessan isin argatu illee beekkadhaa.
24 build for yourselves cities for your infants and folds for your flock, and that which is going out from your mouth you do.”
Dubartootaa fi ijoollee keessaniif magaalaawwan, bushaayee keessaniif immoo dallaa ijaaraa; isin garuu waan waadaa galtan sana guutaa.”
25 And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben speak to Moses, saying, “Your servants do as my lord is commanding;
Ilmaan Gaadii fi ilmaan Ruubeen Museedhaan akkana jedhan; “Nu garboonni kee akkuma gooftaan keenya nu ajaju goona.
26 our infants, our wives, our livestock, and all our beasts, are there in cities of Gilead,
Ijoolleen keenyaa fi niitonni keenya, bushaayeen keenyaa fi loon keenya, asuma magaalaawwan Giliʼaaditti haa hafan.
27 and your servants pass over, every armed one of the host, before YHWH, to battle, as my lord is saying.”
Nu garboonni kee garuu tokkoon tokkoon keenya akkuma gooftaan keenya jedhe sana duulaaf qophoofnee fuula Waaqayyoo duratti duuluuf ni ceena.”
28 And Moses commands Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel concerning them;
Ergasiis Museen waaʼee isaanii Eleʼaazaar lubichaaf, Iyyaasuu ilma Nuunitii fi abbootii maatii gosoota Israaʼeliif ajaja kenne.
29 and Moses says to them, “If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over the Jordan with you, everyone armed for battle, before YHWH, and the land has been subdued before you, then you have given the land of Gilead to them for a possession;
Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Yoo ilmaan Gaadii fi ilmaan Ruubeen, namni waraanaaf hidhate hundi fuula Waaqayyoo duratti isin wajjin Yordaanos ceʼe, yommuu biyyattiin isin harka galtutti biyya Giliʼaad sana kennaafii.
30 and if they do not pass over armed with you, then they have possessions in your midst in the land of Canaan.”
Garuu isaan yoo duulaaf hidhatanii isin wajjin ceʼuu baatan, Kanaʼaan keessatti isin wajjin lafa haa argatan.”
31 And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answer, saying, “That which YHWH has spoken to your servants, so we do;
Ilmaan Gaadii fi ilmaan Ruubeenis akkana jedhanii deebii kennan; “Nu garboonni kee waan Waaqayyo jedhe ni goona.
32 we pass over armed before YHWH [to] the land of Canaan, and with us [is] the possession of our inheritance beyond the Jordan.”
Nu miʼa lolaa hidhannee fuula Waaqayyoo dura ceenee Kanaʼaan seenna; garuu qabeenyi nu dhaallu Yordaanosiin gamatti nuuf haa hafu.”
33 And Moses gives to them—to the sons of Gad, and to the sons of Reuben, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph—the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land by its cities, in the borders, the cities of the surrounding land.
Museenis mootummaa Sihoon mootii Amoorotaa fi mootummaa Oogi mootii Baashaan jechuunis biyya sana guutuu magaalaawwan isaaniitii fi bulchiinsa naannoo isaanii jiru sana ilmaan Gaadiitiif, ilmaan Ruubeeniitii fi walakkaa gosa Minaasee ilma Yoosefiif kenne.
34 And the sons of Gad build Dihon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
Ilmaan Gaadis magaalaawwan Diiboon, Axaaroti, Aroʼeer,
35 and Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,
Atroot Shoofaan, Yaʼizeer, Yogbihaa,
36 and Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, cities of defense, and sheepfolds.
Beet Niimraa fi Beet haaraan magaalaawwan jajjaboo godhanii ijaaran. Bushaayee isaaniitiifis dallaa ijaarratan.
37 And the sons of Reuben have built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,
Ilmaan Ruubeenis magaalaawwan Heshboon, Eleʼaaleenii fi Kiriyaataayim,
38 and Nebo, and Ba‘al-Meon (changed in name), and Shibmah, and they call the names of the cities which they have built by [these] names.
akkasumas Neboo fi Baʼaal Meʼoon jechuunis magaalaawwan maqaan isaanii geeddaramee fi Sibimaa deebisanii ijaaran. Isaanis magaalaawwan deebisanii ijaaran sanaaf maqaa baasan.
39 And sons of Machir son of Manasseh go to Gilead, and capture it, and dispossess the Amorite who [is] in it;
Ijoolleen Maakiir ilma Minaasees gara Giliʼaad dhaqanii biyyattii qabatanii Amoorota achi turan ariʼanii baasan.
40 and Moses gives Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he dwells in it.
Museenis Giliʼaadin ijoollee Maakiir sanyii Minaaseetiif kenne; isaanis achi qubatan.
41 And Jair son of Manasseh has gone and captures their towns, and calls them “Towns of Jair”;
Yaaʼiir ilmi Minaasees dhaqee gandoota isaanii fudhatee gandoota Yaaʼiirootaa jedhee moggaase.
42 and Nobah has gone and captures Kenath and its villages, and calls it Nobah, by his own name.
Noobaan immoo Qeenaatii fi gandoota naannoo isaa jiran qabatee Noobaa jedhee maqaa ofii isaatiin waame.
