< Numbers 32 >
1 And much livestock has [belonged] to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad—very many; and they see the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place [is] a place [for] livestock;
Esi Israelviwo ɖo Yazer kple Gileadnyigbawo dzi la, Ruben kple Gad ƒe towo, ame siwo si alẽha gãwo le la kpɔ be anyigba la nyo ŋutɔ na lãnyinyi.
2 and the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben come in and speak to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
Eya ta wogblɔ na Mose kple nunɔla Eleazar kple toawo ƒe kplɔlawo be,
3 “Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
“Atarɔt, Dibon, Yazer, Nimra, Hesbon, Eleale, Sebam, Nebo kple Beon ƒe
4 the land which YHWH has struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.”
anyigba siwo Yehowa xɔ le Israelviwo ŋkume la nyo na lãnyinyi, eye lãwo le wò dɔlawo si.
5 And they say, “If we have found grace in your eyes, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; cause us not to pass over the Jordan.”
Ne eve mía nu la ekema míeɖe kuku tsɔ anyigba sia na mí ɖe anyigba si le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe akpa kemɛ teƒe.”
6 And Moses says to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, “Do your brothers go to the battle, and you—do you sit here?
Mose bia wo be, “Ɖe miedi be yewoatsi afi sia ne mia nɔviwo ya natso tɔsisi la, eye woawo ɖeɖe nayi aɖawɔ aʋa kple afi ma tɔwoa?
7 And why discourage the heart of the sons of Israel from passing over to the land which YHWH has given to them?
Ɖe miedi be yewoaɖe dzi le Israelviwo ƒo be womagatso tɔsisi la ayi aɖaxɔ anyigba si ƒe ŋugbe Yehowa do na wo oa?
8 Thus your fathers did in my sending them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land;
Nu sia tɔgbi tututu mia tɔgbiwo wɔ kpɔ! Meɖo wo ɖa be woaɖatsa ŋku le Kades Barneanyigba dzi.
9 and they go up to the Valley of Eshcol, and see the land, and discourage the heart of the sons of Israel so as not to go into the land which YHWH has given to them;
Esi wowu ŋkutsatsa la nu, eye wotrɔ tso Eskɔl ƒe balime gbɔ la, woɖe dzi le Israelviwo ƒo le Ŋugbedodonyigba la dzi yiyi ŋu.
10 and the anger of YHWH burns in that day, and He swears, saying,
Yehowa do dɔmedzoe gbe ma gbe, eye woka atam sia be,
11 They do not see—the men who are coming up out of Egypt from a son of twenty years and upward—the ground which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, for they have not been fully after Me,
‘Esi miedze yonyeme kple dzi blibo o ta la, ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, ame siwo tso Egipte la dometɔ ɖeka pɛ hã makpɔ anyigba si ŋugbe medo kple atam na Abraham, Isak kple Yakob o.
12 except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have been fully after YHWH;
Wo dometɔ siwo ko ade Ŋugbedodonyigba la dzie nye Kaleb, Yefune, Kenizitɔ la ƒe viŋutsu kple Yosua, Nun ƒe viŋutsu, elabena woawo dze Yehowa yome kple woƒe dzi blibo, eye wode dzi ƒo na ameawo be woayi Ŋugbedodonyigba la dzi.’
13 and the anger of YHWH burns against Israel, and He causes them to wander in the wilderness [for] forty years, until the consumption of all the generation which is doing evil in the eyes of YHWH.
Yehowa na míetsa tsaglalã le gbedzi ƒe blaene va se ɖe esime dzidzime vɔ̃ɖi ma tsrɔ̃ keŋkeŋ.
14 And behold, you have risen in the stead of your fathers, an increase of sinful men, to add yet to the fury of the anger of YHWH toward Israel;
“Ke miawo hã, mi vɔ̃ wɔlawo ƒe dzidzimeviwo, miegale nu ma tututu wɔm! Miawo miesɔ gbɔ wu woawo, eya ta Yehowa ƒe dziku ɖe miawo ŋu nu asẽ ɖe miawo dzi fifia wu ɖe woawo dzi.
15 when you turn back from after Him, then He has added yet to leave him in the wilderness, and you have done corruptly to all this people.”
Ne mietrɔ ɖa tso Mawu gbɔ alea la, ana ameawo naganɔ gbea dzi ɣeyiɣi didi aɖe wu, eye miahe ku vɛ na ameawo kple dzɔgbevɔ̃e va dukɔ blibo la dzi!”
16 And they come near to him and say, “We build folds for the flock here for our livestock, and cities for our infants;
Woɖo eŋu be, “Míawɔ nenema o, ke boŋ míatu lãkpowo na míaƒe lãwo, eye míatso duwo na mía viwo ɖe afi sia.
17 but we are armed, hastening before the sons of Israel until we have brought them to their place; and our infants have dwelt in the cities of defense because of the inhabitants of the land;
Míawo ŋutɔ míabla akpa, adze ŋgɔ na Israelvi bubuawo va se ɖe esime míakplɔ wo, woƒe asi naka woƒe domenyinu la dedie. Ke ele be míatso duwo, aɖo gli aƒo xlã wo na mía srɔ̃wo kple mía viwo gbã, ale be afi sia tɔwo maho aʋa ɖe wo ŋu o.
18 we do not return to our houses until the sons of Israel have each inherited his inheritance,
Míatsi afi sia o, va se ɖe esime Israelviwo katã ƒe asi asu woƒe domenyinu la dzi.
19 for we do not inherit with them across the Jordan and beyond, for our inheritance has come to us beyond the Jordan at the [sun]-rising.”
Míedi anyigba si le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe akpa kemɛ o; míedi esi le tɔsisi la ƒe akpa sia, le ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo.”
20 And Moses says to them, “If you do this thing, if you are armed before YHWH for battle,
Mose gblɔ na wo be, “Enyo; ne miawɔ ɖe nya si miegblɔ dzi, abla akpa hena aʋawɔwɔ na Yehowa,
21 and every armed one of you has passed over the Jordan before YHWH, until His dispossessing His enemies from before Him,
eye miana miaƒe aʋawɔlawo nanɔ Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe akpa kemɛ va se ɖe esime Yehowa nanya eƒe futɔwo ɖa la,
22 and the land has been subdued before YHWH, then afterward you return, and have been acquitted by YHWH and by Israel, and this land has been to you for a possession before YHWH.
ekema ne míeɖu futɔwo dzi mlɔeba le Yehowa ŋkume la, miatrɔ ava afi sia, elabena miawu miaƒe dɔdeasiwo nu na Yehowa kple Israelvi bubuawo katã. Ekema anyigba si le tɔsisi la ƒe ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo la azu mia tɔ tso Yehowa gbɔ.
23 And if you do not do so, behold, you have sinned against YHWH, and know that your sin finds you;
“Ke ne miawɔ ɖe nya si miegblɔ dzi o la, ekema miawɔ nu vɔ̃ ɖe Yehowa ŋu. Minya be miaƒe nu vɔ̃ ƒe tohehe ava mia dzi kokoko.
24 build for yourselves cities for your infants and folds for your flock, and that which is going out from your mouth you do.”
Mitso duwo na mia srɔ̃wo kple mia viwo, mitu lãkpowo na miaƒe lãwo, eye miwɔ nu siwo katã miegblɔ be yewoawɔ.”
25 And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben speak to Moses, saying, “Your servants do as my lord is commanding;
Gad ƒe viwo kple Ruben ƒe viwo gblɔ be, “Míawɔ nu siwo katã nàɖo na mí be míawɔ la tututu.
26 our infants, our wives, our livestock, and all our beasts, are there in cities of Gilead,
Mía viwo kple mía srɔ̃wo, míaƒe alẽwo kple nyiwo anɔ afi sia le Gilead du la me.
27 and your servants pass over, every armed one of the host, before YHWH, to battle, as my lord is saying.”
Ke mí aʋawɔlawo katã ya la, míatso tɔsisi la ayi aɖawɔ aʋa na Yehowa abe ale si míaƒe aƒetɔ gblɔ ene.”
28 And Moses commands Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel concerning them;
Mose lɔ̃ ɖe edzi, eye wògblɔ na nunɔla Eleazar kple Yosua kple Israelviwo ƒe towo ƒe kplɔlawo be,
29 and Moses says to them, “If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over the Jordan with you, everyone armed for battle, before YHWH, and the land has been subdued before you, then you have given the land of Gilead to them for a possession;
“Ne ame siwo wotia tso Gad ƒe viwo kple Ruben ƒe viwo dome be woayi aɖawɔ aʋa na Yehowa dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe tso Yɔdan tɔsisi la kple mi la, ekema ne miexɔ anyigba la le futɔwo si la, miatsɔ Gileadnyigba ana wo.
30 and if they do not pass over armed with you, then they have possessions in your midst in the land of Canaan.”
Ke ne wogbe la, ekema woaxɔ anyigba le Kanaanyigba la dzi, le mi ame bubuawo dome.”
31 And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answer, saying, “That which YHWH has spoken to your servants, so we do;
Gad ƒe viwo kple Ruben ƒe viwo gagblɔ be, “Míawɔ ɖe Yehowa ƒe ɖoɖo dzi.
32 we pass over armed before YHWH [to] the land of Canaan, and with us [is] the possession of our inheritance beyond the Jordan.”
Míabla akpa nyuie adze Yehowa yome ayi Kanaan, ke míawo ya ƒe anyigba anɔ Yɔdan ƒe akpa sia.”
33 And Moses gives to them—to the sons of Gad, and to the sons of Reuben, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph—the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land by its cities, in the borders, the cities of the surrounding land.
Ale Mose tsɔ Amoritɔwo ƒe fia, Sixɔn kple Basantɔwo ƒe fia, Ɔg, ƒe anyigbawo kple duwo katã na Gad kple Ruben ƒe dzidzimeviwo kple Manase, Yosef ƒe viŋutsu ƒe dzidzimeviwo ƒe afã.
34 And the sons of Gad build Dihon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
Du siwo Gad ƒe viwo tso la woe nye: Dibon, Atarɔt kple Aroer,
35 and Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,
Atrɔt Sofan, Yazer kple Yogbeha,
36 and Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, cities of defense, and sheepfolds.
Bet Nimra kple Bet Haran. Woɖo gli ƒo xlã du siawo katã, eye lãkpowo nɔ wo me.
37 And the sons of Reuben have built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,
Du siwo Ruben ƒe viwo tso la woe nye: Hesbon, Eleale kple Kiriataim,
38 and Nebo, and Ba‘al-Meon (changed in name), and Shibmah, and they call the names of the cities which they have built by [these] names.
Nebo, Baal Meon kple Sibma. Emegbe la, Israelviwo trɔ ŋkɔ na du siawo dometɔ siwo woxɔ hegbugbɔ tu la.
39 And sons of Machir son of Manasseh go to Gilead, and capture it, and dispossess the Amorite who [is] in it;
Manase ƒe viŋutsu, Makir yi Gileadnyigba dzi, nya Amoritɔwo, ame siwo nɔ afi ma la ɖa, eye wòxɔe.
40 and Moses gives Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he dwells in it.
Ale Mose tsɔ Gileadnyigba na Manase ƒe vi Makir eye wonɔ afi ma.
41 And Jair son of Manasseh has gone and captures their towns, and calls them “Towns of Jair”;
Manase ƒe viŋutsu, Yair ƒe dzidzimeviwo nɔ du geɖewo me le Gileadnyigba dzi. Wotrɔ ŋkɔ na woƒe nɔƒe be, Havrɔtyair, si gɔmee nye Yair ƒe duwo.
42 and Nobah has gone and captures Kenath and its villages, and calls it Nobah, by his own name.
Le ɣe ma ɣi me la, ŋutsu aɖe si ŋkɔe nye Noba la kplɔ aʋakɔ aɖe yi Kenat kple kɔƒe siwo ƒo xlãe la me, eye wòxɔ wo. Etsɔ eya ŋutɔ ƒe ŋkɔ na teƒe la be Noba.
