Numbers 30
1 And Moses speaks to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, “This [is] the thing which YHWH has commanded:
Mose akawaambia viongozi wa makabila ya Israeli: “Hili ndilo Bwana analoagiza:
2 When a man vows a vow to YHWH, or has sworn an oath to bind a bond on his soul, he does not defile his word; he does according to all that is going out from his mouth.
Mwanaume awekapo nadhiri kwa Bwana, au anapoapa kujifunga kwa ahadi, kamwe asitangue neno lake, bali ni lazima afanye kila kitu alichosema.
3 And when a woman vows a vow to YHWH, and has bound a bond in the house of her father in her youth,
“Wakati mwanamwali anayeishi bado nyumbani kwa baba yake atakapoweka nadhiri kwa Bwana, ama amejifunga mwenyewe kwa ahadi,
4 and her father has heard her vow and her bond which she has bound on her soul, and her father has kept silent to her, then all her vows have been established, and every bond which she has bound on her soul is established.
na baba yake akasikia kuhusu nadhiri au ahadi yake lakini asimwambie lolote, ndipo nadhiri zake zote na kila ahadi aliyoiweka na kujifunga kwayo itathibitika.
5 And if her father has disallowed her in the day of his hearing, none of her vows and her bonds which she has bound on her soul are established, and YHWH is propitious to her, for her father has disallowed her.
Lakini kama baba yake akimkataza wakati anapoisikia, hakuna nadhiri wala ahadi yake yoyote aliyojifunga kwayo itakayosimama; Bwana atamweka huru huyo mwanamwali kwa sababu baba yake amemkataza.
6 And if she is having a husband, and her vows [are] on her, or a wrongful utterance [on] her lips which she has bound on her soul,
“Ikiwa ataolewa baada ya kuweka nadhiri au baada ya midomo yake kutamka ahadi fulani bila kufikiri akawa amejifunga hivyo,
7 and her husband has heard, and in the day of his hearing he has kept silent to her, then her vows have been established, and her bonds which she has bound on her soul are established.
na mume wake akasikia habari hiyo asimwambie neno lolote, ndipo nadhiri zake ama ahadi zake ambazo alikuwa amejifunga nazo zitathibitika.
8 And if in the day of her husband’s hearing he disallows her, then he has broken her vow which [is] on her, and the wrongful utterance of her lips which she has bound on her soul, and YHWH is propitious to her.
Lakini ikiwa mume wake atamkataza atakaposikia kuhusu hilo, atakuwa ametangua nadhiri ambazo zilikuwa zimemfunga mkewe, ama ahadi aliyotamka pasipo kufikiri ambayo amejifunga kwayo, naye Bwana atamweka huru yule mwanamke.
9 As for the vow of a widow or cast-out woman, all that she has bound on her soul is established on her.
“Nadhiri yoyote ama patano ambalo limefanywa na mjane ama mwanamke aliyeachwa vitakuwa vimemfunga.
10 And if she has vowed [in] the house of her husband, or has bound a bond on her soul with an oath,
“Ikiwa mwanamke anayeishi na mumewe ataweka nadhiri ama kujifunga mwenyewe kwa ahadi chini ya kiapo,
11 and her husband has heard, and has kept silent to her—he has not disallowed her—then all her vows have been established, and every bond which she has bound on her soul is established.
na mumewe akasikia kuhusu jambo hili lakini asimwambie lolote wala hakumkataza, ndipo viapo vyake vyote au ahadi zinazomfunga zitakapothibitika.
12 And if her husband certainly breaks them in the day of his hearing, none of the outgoing of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, is established—her husband has broken them—and YHWH is propitious to her.
Lakini ikiwa mumewe atabatilisha nadhiri hizo baada ya kuzisikia, basi hakuna nadhiri au ahadi zozote alizoziweka kwa midomo yake zitakazothibitika. Mumewe atakuwa amezibatilisha, na Bwana atamweka huru yule mwanamke.
13 Every vow and every oath—a bond to humble a soul—her husband establishes it, or her husband breaks it;
Mumewe anaweza kuthibitisha au kutangua nadhiri yoyote anayoweka, au ahadi yoyote aliyoweka kwa kuapa ili kujikana mwenyewe.
14 and if her husband certainly keeps silent to her from day to day, then he has established all her vows or all her bonds which [are] on her; he has established them, for he has kept silent to her in the day of his hearing;
Lakini ikiwa mumewe hasemi lolote kwake kuhusu jambo hilo siku baada ya siku, basi mumewe atakuwa amethibitisha nadhiri zote, na ahadi zote zinazomfunga mkewe. Anavithibitisha kwa kutokusema lolote kwa mkewe anapoyasikia hayo.
15 and if he indeed breaks them after his hearing, then he has borne her iniquity.”
Hata hivyo, ikiwa mumewe atavibatilisha baada ya kusikia hayo, basi atawajibika kwa hatia ya mkewe.”
16 These [are] the statutes which YHWH has commanded Moses between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter, in her youth, [in] the house of her father.
Haya ndiyo masharti ambayo Bwana alimpa Mose kuhusu mahusiano kati ya mtu na mkewe, na kati ya baba na binti yake ambaye bado anaishi nyumbani kwa baba yake.
