Numbers 26

1 And it comes to pass, after the plague, that YHWH speaks to Moses and to Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying,

2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, from a son of twenty years and upward, by the house of their fathers, everyone going out to the host in Israel.”

3 And Moses speaks—Eleazar the priest also—with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, [near] Jericho, saying,

4 “From a son of twenty years and upward,” as YHWH has commanded Moses and the sons of Israel who are coming out from the land of Egypt.

5 Reuben, firstborn of Israel—sons of Reuben: of Enoch [is] the family of the Enochite; of Pallu the family of the Palluite;

6 of Hezron the family of the Hezronite; of Carmi the family of the Carmite.

7 These [are] families of the Reubenite, and their numbered ones are forty-three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

Disse ere Rubeniternes Slægter; og de talte af dem vare tre og fyrretyve Tusinde og syv Hundrede og tredive.

8 And the son of Pallu [is] Eliab;

Men blandt Pallu Børn var Eliab.

9 and the sons of Eliab [are] Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram; this [is that] Dathan and Abiram, called ones of the congregation, who have striven against Moses and against Aaron in the congregation of Korah, in their striving against YHWH,

Og Eliabs Børn vare Nemuel og Dathan og Abiram; det var den Dathan og Abiram, de udnævnte af Menigheden, de, som trættede mod Mose og mod Aron i Koras Selskab, der de trættede mod Herren.

10 and the earth opens her mouth, and swallows them and Korah, in the death of the congregation, in the fire consuming the two hundred and fifty men, and they become a sign;

11 but the sons of Korah did not die.

15 Sons of Gad by their families: of Zephon [is] the family of the Zephonite; of Haggi the family of the Haggite; of Shuni the family of the Shunite;

19 Sons of Judah [are] Er and Onan; and Er dies—Onan also—in the land of Canaan.

20 And sons of Judah by their families are: of Shelah the family of the Shelanite; of Perez the family of the Perezite; of Zerah the family of the Zerahite;

21 and sons of Perez are: of Hezron the family of the Hezronite; of Hamul the family of the Hamulite.

22 These [are] families of Judah by their numbered ones—seventy-six thousand and five hundred.

Disse ere Judas Slægter efter de talte af dem, seks og halvfjerdsindstyve Tusinde og fem Hundrede.

23 Sons of Issachar by their families: of Tola [is] the family of the Tolaite; of Pua the family of the Punite;

24 of Jashub the family of the Jashubite; of Shimron the family of the Shimronite.

27 These [are] families of the Zebulunite by their numbered ones—sixty thousand and five hundred.

28 Sons of Joseph by their families [are] Manasseh and Ephraim.

29 Sons of Manasseh: of Machir [is] the family of the Machirite; and Machir has begotten Gilead; of Gilead [is] the family of the Gileadite.

30 These [are] sons of Gilead: of Jeezer [is] the family of the Jeezerite; of Helek the family of the Helekite;

31 and of Asriel the family of the Asrielite; and of Shechem the family of the Shechemite;

32 and of Shemida the family of the Shemidaite; and of Hepher the family of the Hepherite.

og af Semida Semidaiternes Slægt; og af Hefer Heferiternes Slægt.

33 And Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons, but [only] daughters, and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad [are] Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

Men Zelafehad, Hefers Søn, havde ingen Sønner, men Døtre, og Zelafehads Døtres Navne vare: Mahela og Noa, Hogla, Milka og Thirza.

34 These [are] families of Manasseh, and their numbered ones [are] fifty-two thousand and seven hundred.

Disse ere Manasse Slægter; og de talte af dem vare to og halvtredsindstyve Tusinde og syv Hundrede.

35 These [are] sons of Ephraim by their families: of Shuthelah [is] the family of the Shuthelhite; of Becher the family of the Bachrite; of Tahan the family of the Tahanite.

36 And these [are] sons of Shuthelah: of Eran the family of the Eranite.

37 These [are] families of the sons of Ephraim by their numbered ones—thirty-two thousand and five hundred. These [are] sons of Joseph by their families.

Disse ere Efraims Børns Slægter efter de talte af dem, to og tredive Tusinde og fem Hundrede; disse ere Josefs Børn efter deres Slægter.

38 Sons of Benjamin by their families: of Bela [is] the family of the Belaite; of Ashbel the family of the Ashbelite; of Ahiram the family of the Ahiramite;

40 And sons of Bela are Ard and Naaman: [of Ard is] the family of the Ardite; of Naaman the family of the Naamite.

41 These [are] sons of Benjamin by their families, and their numbered ones [are] forty-five thousand and six hundred.

42 These [are] sons of Dan by their families: of Shuham [is] the family of the Shuhamite; these [are] families of Dan by their families;

Disse vare Dans Børn efter deres Slægter; af Suham Suhamiternes Slægt; disse vare Dans Slægter efter deres Slægter.

43 all the families of the Shuhamite by their numbered ones—sixty-four thousand and four hundred.

Alle Suhamiternes Slægter efter de talte af dem vare fire og tresindstyve Tusinde og fire Hundrede.

44 Sons of Asher by their families: of Jimna [is] the family of the Jimnite; of Jesui the family of the Jesuite; of Beriah the family of the Beriite.

45 Of sons of Beriah: of Heber [is] the family of the Heberite; of Malchiel the family of the Malchielite.

46 And the name of the daughter of Asher [is] Sarah.

Og Asers Datters Navn var Serak.

47 These [are] families of the sons of Asher by their numbered ones—fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

Disse ere Asers Børns Slægter efter de talte af dem, tre og halvtredsindstyve Tusinde og fire Hundrede.

48 Sons of Naphtali by their families: of Jahzeel [is] the family of the Jahzeelite; of Guni the family of the Gunite;

Nafthali Børn efter deres Slægter vare: Af Jazeel Jazeeliternes Slægt; af Guni Guniternes Slægt;

49 of Jezer the family of the Jezerite; of Shillem the family of the Shillemite.

50 These [are] families of Naphtali by their families, and their numbered ones [are] forty-five thousand and four hundred.

Disse ere Nafthali Slægter efter deres Slægter, og de talte af dem vare fem og fyrretyve Tusinde og fire Hundrede.

51 These [are] numbered ones of the sons of Israel—six hundred thousand and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

Disse ere de talte af Israels Børn: Seks Hundrede Tusinde og et Tusinde, syv Hundrede og tredive.

52 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

Og Herren talede til Mose og sagde:

53 “The land is apportioned to these by inheritance, by the number of names;

Iblandt disse skal Landet deles til Arv efter Navnenes Tal.

54 to the many you increase their inheritance, and to the few you diminish their inheritance; each is given his inheritance according to his numbered ones.

Den, som har mange, hans Arv skal du gøre stor, og den, som har faa, hans Arv skal du gøre liden; hver skal gives hans Arv i Forhold til de talte af ham.

55 Surely the land is apportioned by lot; they inherit by the names of the tribes of their fathers;

56 their inheritance is apportioned according to the lot between many and few.”

Som Loddet falder, skal Arven tilfalde enhver, efter som han har mange eller faa.

57 And these [are] numbered ones of the Levite by their families: of Gershon [is] the family of the Gershonite; of Kohath the family of the Kohathite; of Merari the family of the Merarite.

Og disse ere de talte af Leviterne efter deres Slægter: Af Gerson Gersoniternes Slægt; af Kahath Kahathiternes Slægt; af Merari Merariternes Slægt.

58 These [are] families of the Levite: the family of the Libnite, the family of the Hebronite, the family of the Mahlite, the family of the Mushite, the family of the Korathite. And Kohath has begotten Amram,

Disse ere Leviternes Slægter: De Libniters Slægt, de Hebroniters Slægt, de Maheliters Slægt, de Musiters Slægt, de Koraiters Slægt; og Kahath avlede Amram.

59 and the name of Amram’s wife is Jochebed, daughter of Levi, whom has been born to Levi in Egypt; and she bears to Amram Aaron, and Moses, and their sister Miriam.

Og Amrams Hustrus Navn var Jokebed, Levi Datter, hvilken hendes Moder fødte Levi i Ægypten; og hun fødte Aron og Mose og Maria, deres Søster, for Amram.

60 And born to Aaron [are] Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar;

Men for Aron bleve fødte Nadab og Abihu, Eleasar og Ithaman

61 and Nadab dies—Abihu also—in their bringing strange fire near before YHWH.

Og Nadab og Abihu døde, der de førte fremmed Ild ind for Herrens Ansigt.

62 And their numbered ones are twenty-three thousand, every male from a son of a month and upwards, for they have not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, because an inheritance has not been given to them in the midst of the sons of Israel.

Og de talte af dem vare tre og tyve Tusinde, alt Mandkøn fra Maaned gammel og derover; thi de bleve ikke talte iblandt Israels Børn, thi dem var ikke given Arv iblandt Israels Børn.

63 These [are] those numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who have numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, [near] Jericho;

Disse ere de, som bleve talte af Mose og Eleasar, Præsten, hvilken talte Israels Børn paa Moabiternes slette Marker, ved Jordanen, over for Jeriko.

64 and among these there has not been a man of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai,

Og iblandt dem var ikke en Mand af dem, som vare talte af Mose og Aron, Præsten, der talte Israels Børn i Sinai Ørk.

65 for YHWH said of them, “They certainly die in the wilderness”; and there has not been left a man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Thi Herren havde sagt til dem: De skulle visseligen dø i Ørken; og der blev ingen tilovers af dem uden Kaleb, Jefunne Søn, og Josva, Nuns Søn.
