Numbers 20
1 And the sons of Israel, all the congregation, come [into] the wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people abide in Kadesh; and Miriam dies there and is buried there.
അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും ഒന്നാം മാസം സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തി, ജനം കാദേശിൽ പാർത്തു; അവിടെവെച്ചു മിര്യാം മരിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
2 And there has been no water for the congregation, and they are assembled against Moses and against Aaron,
ജനത്തിന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അപ്പോൾ അവർ മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടി.
3 and the people strive with Moses and speak, saying, “And oh that we had expired when our brothers expired before YHWH!
ജനം മോശെയോടു കലഹിച്ചു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങളും മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.
4 And why have you brought in the assembly of YHWH to this wilderness to die there, we and our beasts?
ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ കിടന്നു ചാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ സഭയെ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്തു?
5 And why have you brought us up out of Egypt to bring us to this evil place? [It is] not a place of seed, and fig, and vine, and pomegranate; and there is no water to drink.”
ഈ വല്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു ഞങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു? ഇവിടെ വിത്തും അത്തിപ്പഴവും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴവും മാതളപ്പഴവും ഇല്ല; കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളവുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
6 And Moses and Aaron go in from the presence of the assembly to the opening of the Tent of Meeting and fall on their faces, and the glory of YHWH is seen by them.
എന്നാറെ മോശെയും അഹരോനും സഭയുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ ചെന്നു കവിണ്ണുവീണു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു അവർക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.
7 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: നിന്റെ വടി എടുത്തു നീയും സഹോദരനായ അഹരോനും സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവർ കാൺകെ പാറയോടു കല്പിക്ക.
8 “Take the rod and assemble the congregation—you and your brother Aaron—and you have spoken to the rock before their eyes, and it has given its water, and you have brought out water to them from the rock, and have watered the congregation and their beasts.”
എന്നാൽ അതു വെള്ളംതരും; പാറയിൽ നിന്നു അവർക്കു വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ജനത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികൾക്കും കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുക്കേണം എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
9 And Moses takes the rod from before YHWH as He has commanded him,
തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു വടി എടുത്തു.
10 and Moses and Aaron assemble the assembly to the front of the rock, and he says to them, “Now hear, O rebels, do we bring out water to you from this rock?”
മോശെയും അഹരോനും പാറയുടെ അടുക്കൽ സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോടു: മത്സരികളേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ; ഈ പാറയിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
11 And Moses lifts up his hand and strikes the rock with his rod twice; and much water comes out, and the congregation drinks, and their beasts [drink].
മോശെ കൈ ഉയർത്തി വടികൊണ്ടു പാറയെ രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം അടിച്ചു; വളരെ വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ജനവും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും കുടിച്ചു.
12 And YHWH says to Moses and to Aaron, “Because you have not believed in Me to sanctify Me before the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you do not bring in this assembly to the land which I have given to them.”
പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും: നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ കാണ്കെ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സഭയെ ഞാൻ അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
13 These [are] the waters of Meribah, because the sons of Israel have “striven” with YHWH, and He is sanctified among them.
ഇതു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യഹോവയോടു കലഹിച്ചതും അവർ അവരിൽ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമായ കലഹജലം.
14 And Moses sends messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, “Thus said your brother Israel: You have known all the travail which has found us,
അനന്തരം മോശെ കാദേശിൽനിന്നു എദോംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചതു: “നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യിസ്രായേൽ ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു:
15 that our fathers go down to Egypt, and we dwell in Egypt [for] many days, and the Egyptians do evil to us and to our fathers;
ഞങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ടായ കഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും നീ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മിസ്രയീമിൽ പോയി ഏറിയ കാലം പാർത്തു: മിസ്രയീമ്യർ ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു.
16 then we cry to YHWH, and He hears our voice, and sends a Messenger, and is bringing us out of Egypt; and behold, we [are] in Kadesh, a city [in] the extremity of your border.
ഞങ്ങൾ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു ഒരു ദൂതനെ അയച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള പട്ടണമായ കാദേശിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
17 Please let us pass over through your land; we do not pass over through a field or through a vineyard, nor do we drink waters of a well; we go the way of the king, we do not turn aside [to] the right or left until we pass over your border.”
ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ അനുവദിക്കേണമേ. ഞങ്ങൾ വയലിലോ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലോ കയറുകയില്ല; കിണറ്റിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയുമില്ല. ഞങ്ങൾ രാജപാതയില്കൂടി തന്നേ നടക്കും;
18 And Edom says to him, “You do not pass over through me, lest I come out to meet you with the sword.”
നിന്റെ അതിർ കഴിയുംവരെ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരികയുമില്ല.” എദോം അവനോടു: “നീ എന്റെ നാട്ടിൽകൂടി കടക്കരുതു: കടന്നാൽ ഞാൻ വാളുമായി നിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
19 And the sons of Israel say to him, “We go in the highway, and if we drink of your waters—I and my livestock—then I have given their price; only, let me pass over on my feet, nothing [more].”
അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അവനോടു: “ഞങ്ങൾ പെരുവഴിയിൽ കൂടി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം; ഞാനും എന്റെ കന്നുകാലിയും നിന്റെ വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചുപോയാൽ അതിന്റെ വിലതരാം; കാൽനടയായി കടന്നു പോകേണമെന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും എനിക്കു വേണ്ടാ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
20 And he says, “You do not pass over”; and Edom comes out to meet him with many people and with a strong hand;
അതിന്നു അവൻ “നീ കടന്നുപോകരുതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എദോം ബഹുസൈന്യത്തോടും ബലമുള്ള കയ്യോടും കൂടെ അവന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
21 and Edom refuses to permit Israel to pass over through his border, and Israel turns aside from off him.
ഇങ്ങനെ എദോം തന്റെ അതിരിൽകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. യിസ്രായേൽ അവനെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി.
22 And the sons of Israel, all the congregation, journey from Kadesh and come to Mount Hor,
പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും കാദേശിൽനിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ എത്തി.
23 and YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron in Mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom, saying,
എദോംദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
24 “Aaron is gathered to his people, for he does not go into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because that you provoked My mouth at the waters of Meribah.
അഹരോൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും; കലഹജലത്തിങ്കൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കല്പന മറുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു അവൻ കടക്കയില്ല.
25 Take Aaron and his son Eleazar, and cause them to go up Mount Hor,
അഹരോനെയും അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെയും കൂട്ടി അവരെ ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു
26 and strip Aaron of his garments, and you have clothed his son Eleazar [with] them, and Aaron is gathered, and dies there.”
അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കേണം; അഹരോൻ അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും.
27 And Moses does as YHWH has commanded, and they go up to Mount Hor before the eyes of all the congregation,
യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ ചെയ്തു; സർവ്വസഭയും കാൺകെ അവർ ഹോർപർവ്വത്തിൽ കയറി.
28 and Moses strips Aaron of his garments, and clothes his son Eleazar with them, and Aaron dies there on the top of the mountain; and Moses comes down—Eleazar also—from the mountain,
മോശെ അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു; അഹരോൻ അവിടെ പർവ്വതത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു; മോശെയും എലെയാസാരും പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു.
29 and all the congregation sees that Aaron has expired, and all the house of Israel laments Aaron [for] thirty days.
അഹരോൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു സഭയെല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും അഹരോനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുപ്പതു ദിവസം വിലാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു
