< Numbers 2 >
1 And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
2 “The sons of Israel encamp, each by his standard, with ensigns of the house of their fathers; they encamp around, from in sight of the Tent of Meeting.”
Let the children of Israel encamp fronting [each other], every man keeping his own rank, according to [their] standards, according to the houses of their families; the children of Israel shall encamp round about the tabernacle of witness.
3 And those encamping eastward toward the sun-rising [are] of the standard of the camp of Judah, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Judah [is] Nahshon, son of Amminadab;
And they that encamp first toward the east [shall be] the order of the camp of Juda with their host, and the prince of the sons of Juda, Naasson the son of Aminadab.
4 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
His forces that were numbered, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
5 And those encamping by him [are] of the tribe of Issachar; and the prince of the sons of Issachar [is] Nethaneel son of Zuar;
And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Issachar, and the prince of the sons of Issachar [shall be] Nathanael the son of Sogar.
6 and his host, and its numbered ones, [are] fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

7 The tribe of Zebulun [is with them]; and the prince of the sons of Zebulun [is] Eliab son of Helon;
And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Zabulon, and the prince of the sons of Zabulon [shall be] Eliab the son of Chaelon.
8 and his host, and its numbered ones, [are] fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

9 All those numbered of the camp of Judah [are] one hundred thousand and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred, by their hosts; they journey first.
All that were numbered of the camp of Juda were a hundred and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred: they shall move first with their forces.
10 The standard of the camp of Reuben [is] southward, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Reuben [is] Elizur son of Shedeur;
[This is] the order of the camp of Ruben; their forces [shall be] toward the south, and the prince of the children of Ruben [shall be] Elisur the son of Sediur.
11 and his host, and its numbered ones, [are] forty-six thousand and five hundred.

12 And those encamping by him [are of] the tribe of Simeon; and the prince of the sons of Simeon [is] Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
And they that encamp next to him [shall be] of the tribe of Symeon, and the prince of the sons of Symeon [shall be] Salamiel the son of Surisadai.
13 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

14 And the tribe of Gad [is with him]; and the prince of the sons of Gad [is] Eliasaph son of Reuel;
And they that encamp next to them [shall be] the tribe of Gad; and the prince of the sons of Gad, Elisaph the son of Raguel.
15 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

16 All those numbered of the camp of Reuben [are] one hundred thousand and fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty, by their hosts; and they journey second.
All who were numbered of the camp of Ruben, were a hundred and fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty: they with their forces shall proceed in the second place.
17 And the Tent of Meeting has journeyed [with] the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they encamp so they journey, each at his station by their standards.
And [then] the tabernacle of witness shall be set forward, and the camp of the Levites [shall be] between the camps; as they shall encamp, so also shall they commence their march, each one next in order to his fellow according to their companies.
18 The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their hosts, [is] westward; and the prince of the sons of Ephraim [is] Elishama son of Ammihud;
The station of the camp of Ephraim [shall be] westward with their forces, and the head of the children of Ephraim [shall be] Elisama the son of Emiud.
19 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] forty thousand and five hundred.
His forces that were numbered, are forty thousand and five hundred.
20 And by him [is] the tribe of Manasseh; and the prince of the sons of Manasseh [is] Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Manasse, and the prince of the sons of Manasse, Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.
21 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
His forces that were numbered, were thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
22 And the tribe of Benjamin [is with them]; and the prince of the sons of Benjamin [is] Abidan son of Gideoni;
And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Benjamin, and the prince of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gadeoni.
23 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] thirty-five thousand and four hundred.

24 All those numbered of the camp of Ephraim [are] one hundred thousand and eight thousand and one hundred, by their hosts; and they journey third.
All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim, were one hundred and eight thousand and one hundred: they with their forces shall set out third.
25 The standard of the camp of Dan [is] northward, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Dan [is] Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
The order of the camp of Dan [shall be] northward with their forces; and the prince of the sons of Dan, Achiezer the son of Amisadai.
26 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
His forces that were numbered, were sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
27 And those encamping by him [are of] the tribe of Asher; and the prince of the sons of Asher [is] Pagiel son of Ocran;
And they that encamp next to him [shall be] the tribe of Aser; and the prince of the sons of Aser, Phagiel the son of Echran.
28 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] forty-one thousand and five hundred.
His forces that were numbered, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.
29 And the tribe of Naphtali [is with them]; and the prince of the sons of Naphtali [is] Ahira son of Enan;
And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Nephthali; and the prince of the children of Nephthali, Achire son Aenan.
30 and his host, and their numbered ones, [are] fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
His forces that were numbered were fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
31 All those numbered of the camp of Dan [are] one hundred thousand and fifty-seven thousand and six hundred; they journey at the rear by their standards.
All that were numbered of the camp of Dan, [were] a hundred and fifty-seven thousand and six hundred: they shall set out last according to their order.
32 These [are] those numbered of the sons of Israel by the house of their fathers; all those numbered of the camps by their hosts [are] six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
This [is] the numbering of the children of Israel according to the houses of their families: all the numbering of the camps with their forces, [was] six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty.
33 And the Levites have not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, as YHWH has commanded Moses.
But the Levites were not numbered with them, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 And the sons of Israel do according to all that YHWH has commanded Moses; so they have encamped by their standards, and so they have journeyed, each by his families, by the house of his fathers.
And the children of Israel did all things that the Lord commanded Moses; thus they encamped in their order, and thus they began their march in succession each according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families.
