Numbers 18
1 And YHWH says to Aaron, “You, and your sons, and the house of your father with you, bear the iniquity of the sanctuary; and you and your sons with you bear the iniquity of your priesthood;
Et l'Éternel dit à Aaron: Toi et tes fils et ta maison patriarcale avec toi, vous serez comptables des délits commis au Sanctuaire, et toi et tes fils avec toi, vous serez comptables des délits commis dans votre Sacerdoce.
2 and also your brothers, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring near with you, and they are joined to you, and serve you, even you and your sons with you, before the Tent of the Testimony.
Et tes frères aussi, la Tribu de Lévi, tribu de ton père, tu les feras approcher avec toi, pour qu'ils te soient adjoints et qu'ils te servent; mais toi et tes fils avec toi vous officierez devant la Tente du Témoignage,
3 And they have kept your charge, and the charge of all the tent; only, they do not come near to the vessels of the holy place and to the altar, and they do not die, either they or you;
et ils observeront ce qui doit être observé à ton égard et dans toute la Tente; seulement ils ne s'approcheront ni des vases sacrés, ni de l'Autel, de peur que vous ne mouriez et eux et vous.
4 and they have been joined to you and have kept the charge of the Tent of Meeting for all the service of the tent; and a stranger does not come near to you;
Ils te seront adjoints et vaqueront à ce qui doit être fait dans la Tente du Rendez-vous pour tout le service de la Tente, et un étranger ne sera pas admis auprès de vous.
5 and you have kept the charge of the holy place and the charge of the altar, and there is no more wrath against the sons of Israel.
Vous aurez donc à vous occuper du Sanctuaire et de l'Autel, afin que désormais [ma] colère ne tombe plus sur les enfants d'Israël.
6 And I, behold, have taken your brothers the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel; they are a gift given to you by YHWH to do the service of the Tent of Meeting;
Pour moi, voici j'ai pris vos frères, les Lévites, du sein des enfants d'Israël, et il vous est fait don de ceux qui ont été donnés en propre à l'Éternel, pour faire le service de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
7 and you and your sons with you keep your priesthood for everything of the altar and within the veil, and you have served; I make your priesthood a gift [for] service; and the stranger who is coming near is put to death.”
Mais toi et tes fils avec toi, vous vaquerez à votre Sacerdoce dans tout ce qui concerne l'Autel et derrière le rideau, et vous ferez votre service; je vous donne votre Sacerdoce comme un ministère donné en propre, et l'étranger qui s'approchera de vous sera mis à mort.
8 And YHWH speaks to Aaron: “And I, behold, have given to you the charge of My raised-offerings, of all the hallowed things of the sons of Israel—I have given them to you and to your sons for the anointing, by a continuous statute.
Et l'Éternel parla à Aaron: Voici, je t'ai remis le service de ce qui m'est offert par élévation sur toutes les choses consacrées par les enfants d'Israël; je te le donne pour ta portion à toi et à tes fils comme redevance perpétuelle.
9 This is yours from the most holy things, from the fire: all their offering, of all their present, and of all their sin-offering, and of all their guilt-offering, which they give back to Me, is most holy to you and to your sons;
Voici ce qui te reviendra des très saints sacrifices après la combustion: toutes leurs oblations en fait d'offrandes de tout genre, de Sacrifices expiatoires, de victimes pour délit, qu'ils m'offriront, t'appartiendront, comme choses très saintes, à toi et à tes fils.
10 you eat it among the most holy things; every male eats it; it is holy to you.
C'est dans le lieu très saint que vous les mangerez; tout mâle en mangera; qu'elles te soient très saintes.
11 And this [is] yours: the raised-offering of their gift, with all the wave-offerings of the sons of Israel; I have given them to you, and to your sons, and to your daughters with you, by a continuous statute; every clean one in your house eats it;
Voici ce que tu auras encore: leurs dons offerts par élévation avec tous ceux qu'offrent par agitation les enfants d'Israël, je te les donne à toi et à tes fils et à tes filles avec toi comme redevance perpétuelle; toute personne pure dans ta maison en mangera.
12 all the best of the oil, and all the best of the new wine, and wheat—their first-[fruits] which they give to YHWH—I have given them to you.
Toute l'huile de choix, tout le moût et le blé de choix, prémices de ces denrées, qu'ils donnent à l'Éternel, je te les donne.
13 The first-fruits of all that [is] in their land, which they bring to YHWH, are yours; every clean one in your house eats it;
Les primeurs de tout ce qui croît dans leur pays, qu'ils présentent à l'Éternel, t'appartiendront; toute personne pure dans ta maison en mangera.
14 every devoted thing in Israel is yours;
Tout ce qui en Israël sera dévoué, t'appartiendra.
15 everyone opening a womb of all flesh which they bring near to YHWH, among man and among beast, is yours; only, you certainly ransom the firstborn of man, and you ransom the firstling of the unclean beast.
La primogéniture de toute chair offerte à l'Éternel, et de l'homme et des animaux, t'appartiendra; seulement tu recevras une rançon pour les premiers-nés de l'homme, et aussi pour les premiers-nés des animaux impurs.
16 And their ransomed ones from a son of a month, you ransom with your valuation [for] five shekels of silver, by the shekel of the holy place; it [is] twenty gerahs.
Quant à la rançon, tu recevras pour ce qui a l'âge d'un mois, d'après ton estimation, cinq sicles d'argent, en sicles du Sanctuaire, le sicle de vingt géras.
17 Only, the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, you do not ransom, they [are] holy: you sprinkle their blood on the altar, and you make incense of their fat [as] a fire-offering of refreshing fragrance to YHWH;
Mais pour les premiers-nés soit du bœuf, soit du mouton, soit de la chèvre, tu ne les feras pas racheter; ils sont saints; tu répandras leur sang sur l'Autel, et tu feras fumer leur graisse en sacrifice igné d'un parfum agréable à l'Éternel.
18 and their flesh is yours, as the breast of the wave-offering and as the right leg are yours.
Et leur chair t'appartiendra; comme la poitrine présentée par agitation et comme l'éclanche droite, elle t'appartiendra.
19 All the raised-offerings of the holy things, which the sons of Israel lift up to YHWH, I have given to you, and to your sons, and to your daughters with you, by a continuous statute—a covenant of salt; it [is] continuous before YHWH to you and to your seed with you.”
Toutes les saintes oblations que les enfants d'Israël présentent à l'Éternel par élévation, je te les donne à toi et à tes fils et à tes filles avec toi, comme redevance perpétuelle; c'est un pacte à perpétuité fait avec le sel devant l'Éternel pour toi et ta race avec toi.
20 And YHWH says to Aaron, “You do not inherit in their land, and you do not have a portion in their midst: I [am] your portion and your inheritance in the midst of the sons of Israel;
Et l'Éternel dit à Aaron: Tu n'auras ni propriété dans leur pays, ni lot parmi eux; c'est moi qui serai ton lot et ta propriété au milieu des enfants d'Israël.
21 and to the sons of Levi, behold, have given all the tenth in Israel for inheritance in exchange for their service which they are serving—the service of the Tent of Meeting.
Et aux fils de Lévi, voici, je donne toute dîme en Israël comme propriété, en échange du service qu'ils font, du service de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
22 And the sons of Israel no longer come near to the Tent of Meeting, to bear sin, to die,
Et que les enfants d'Israël ne s'approchent plus de la Tente du Rendez-vous, pour se charger d'un péché mortel.
23 and the Levites have done the service of the Tent of Meeting, and they bear their iniquity; [it is] a continuous statute throughout your generations that they have no inheritance in the midst of the sons of Israel;
Mais que ce soient les Lévites qui vaquent au service de la Tente du Rendez-vous, et soient responsables eux-mêmes de leurs manquements: ce sera une règle perpétuelle pour vos générations; et au milieu des enfants d'Israël ils ne posséderont pas de propriété.
24 but the tithe of the sons of Israel which they lift up to YHWH, a raised-offering, I have given to the Levites for inheritance; therefore I have said of them, They have no inheritance in the midst of the sons of Israel.”
Car je donne aux Lévites en propriété les dîmes des enfants d'Israël que ceux-ci présentent à l'Éternel par élévation; c'est pourquoi je dis d'eux: parmi les enfants d'Israël, ils ne posséderont pas de propriété.
25 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
26 “And you speak to the Levites, and you have said to them: When you take the tithe from the sons of Israel which I have given to you from them for your inheritance, then you have lifted up the raised-offering of YHWH from it, a tithe of the tithe;
Tu parleras aux Lévites et leur diras: Lorsque vous recevrez des enfants d'Israël la dîme que je vous ai accordée sur eux comme votre propriété, vous en prélèverez pour l'offrir par élévation à l'Éternel la dîme sur la dîme;
27 and your raised-offering has been reckoned to you as grain from the threshing-floor and as the fullness from the wine-vat;
et votre élévation vous sera comptée comme le froment prélevé sur l'aire et l'abondance prélevée au pressoir.
28 so you lift up—you also—the raised-offering of YHWH from all your tithes which you receive from the sons of Israel; and you have given the raised-offering of YHWH from it to Aaron the priest;
Ainsi, vous prélèverez aussi une élévation pour l'Éternel sur toutes les dîmes que vous recevrez des enfants d'Israël, et vous donnerez au Prêtre Aaron ce que vous en aurez élevé vers l'Éternel.
29 out of all your gifts you lift up every raised-offering of YHWH, out of all its fat—its hallowed part—out of it.
Et sur tous les dons reçus par vous, vous prélèverez toute élévation pour l'Éternel, la portion sainte, sur tout ce qu'il y a de meilleur.
30 And you have said to them: In your lifting up its fat out of it, then it has been reckoned to the Levites as increase of a threshing-floor and as increase of a wine-vat;
Et tu leur diras: Si vous en prélevez le meilleur, il sera compté aux Lévites comme le produit de l'aire et comme le produit du pressoir.
31 and you have eaten it in every place, you and your households, for it [is] your hire in exchange for your service in the Tent of Meeting;
Et vous le mangerez en tout lieu, vous et votre maison; car c'est pour vous un salaire en échange du service fait par vous dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
32 and you bear no sin for it in your lifting up its fat out of it, but you do not defile the holy things of the sons of Israel, and you do not die.”
Et par là vous ne vous chargerez d'aucun péché, si vous prélevez le meilleur, et vous ne profanerez point ce qui aura été consacré par les enfants d'Israël, et vous ne mourrez point.
