1 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
BOEIPA loh Moses tea voek tih,
2 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and take a rod from each of them, for a father’s house, from all their princes, for the house of their fathers—twelve rods; you write the name of each on his rod,
“Israel carhoek te thui pah lamtah amih taeng lamkah congholte lo. Conghol te a napa imkhui tarhing la a khoboei boeih taeng lamkah khaw lo saeh. A naparhoek imkhui tarhing kah congholte hlai nit lo ni. Te vaengah hlangte a ming neh a conghol dongah daek pah.
3 and you write Aaron’s name on the tribe of Levi; for one rod [is] for the head of their fathers’ house.
Aaron ming te Levi conghol soah daek lamtah a naparhoek imsawn kah a lu pakhat ham conghol pakhat van saeh.
4 And you have placed them in the Tent of Meeting before the Testimony, where I meet with you.
Te rhoek te tingtunnah dap khuikah olphong hmai ah khueh pah. Terhoek ah ni nangmih ham kan tuentah coeng.
5 And it has come to pass, the man’s rod on whom I fix flourishes, and I have caused the murmurings of the sons of Israel, which they are murmuring against you, to cease from off Me.”
Te vaengah ka coelh hlang te ana om vetih anih te a conghol duei ni. Te vaengah nangmih rhoi taengah aka nul, amih Israel ca rhoek kah kohuetnah te kamah taeng lamloh ka hnop ni,” a ti nah.
6 And Moses speaks to the sons of Israel, and all their princes give to him one rod for a prince, one rod for a prince, for their fathers’ house—twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron [is] in the midst of their rods;
Te dongah Moses loh Israel carhoek tea thui pah tih amih kah khoboei boeih loh khoboei pakhat ham conghol pakhat, khoboei pakhat ham van te conghol pakhat van te a taenglaa paek uh. A napa rhoek kah imsawn tarhingah conghol hlai nit lo tih Aaron kah conghol khaw amih kah conghol lakli ah om.
7 and Moses places the rods before YHWH in the Tent of the Testimony.
Moses loh conghol te olphong dap kah BOEIPA mikhmuh aha hang.
8 And it comes to pass, on the next day, that Moses goes into the Tent of the Testimony, and behold, the rod of Aaron has flourished for the house of Levi, and brings out a bud, and blossoms [with] a blossom, and produces almonds;
A vuen ah Moseste olphong dap khuilaa kun vaengah Levi imkhui kah Aaron conghol tah tarha aka duei pah. Rhaiphuelh khaw phuelh. Te phoeiah tamlaep bangla a khooi pah tih noe bangla a thaih pah.
9 and Moses brings out all the rods from before YHWH to all the sons of Israel, and they look, and each takes his rod.
Moses loh conghol boeih te BOEIPA mikhmuh lamloh Israel ca boeih taenglaa khuen tiha sawt uh phoeiah hlang boeih a conghol te a loh uh.
10 And YHWH says to Moses, “Put back the rod of Aaron before the Testimony, for a charge, for a sign to the sons of rebellion, and you remove their murmurings from off Me, and they do not die”;
Te phoeiah BOEIPA loh Moses te, “Boekoek kocarhoek taengah miknoek la tuemkoi ham Aaron kah conghol te olphong hmai ah khueh laeh. Te daengah nih amih kah kohuetnahte ka mikhmuh lamloh paa vetiha duek uh pawt eh?,” a ti nah.
11 and Moses does as YHWH has commanded him; so he has done.
BOEIPA loh amaha uen bangla Mosesloh a ngai tih a saii van.
12 And the sons of Israel speak to Moses, saying, “Behold, we have expired, we have perished, all of us have perished!
Israel ca rhoek loh Moses tea voekuh tih, “M'pal uh ni he, mamih boeih m'milh uh coeng, m'milh uh coeng.
13 Any who is at all drawing near to the Dwelling Place of YHWH dies; have we not been consumed—to expire?”
BOEIPA kah dungtlungim te aka paan la aka paan boeih tah duek ni. Pal hamla khum uh mai sih a eya?” a ti uh.
