Numbers 11
1 And the people are evil, as those sighing habitually in the ears of YHWH, and YHWH hears, and His anger burns, and the fire of YHWH burns among them, and consumes in the extremity of the camp.
Pero aconteció que el pueblo se quejó de adversidad a oídos de Yavé. Y Yavé oyó y se encendió su ira, de manera que el fuego de Yavé ardió entre ellos. Consumió [a algunos] en los extremos del campamento.
2 And the people cry to Moses, and Moses prays to YHWH, and the fire is quenched;
Entonces el pueblo clamó a Moisés, y Moisés oró a Yavé, y el fuego se extinguió.
3 and he calls the name of that place Taberah, for the fire of YHWH has “burned” among them.
[Alguien] llamó aquel lugar Tabirá, porque el fuego de Yavé se encendió contra ellos.
4 And the rabble who [are] in its midst have lusted greatly, and the sons of Israel also turn back and weep, and say, “Who gives us flesh?
El populacho de extraños que estaba entre ellos tuvo grandes deseos. También los hijos de Israel volvieron a llorar y dijeron: ¿Quién nos dará carne para comer?
5 We have remembered the fish which we eat in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;
¡Cómo nos acordamos del pescado que comíamos en Egipto sin pago, de los pepinos, los melones, el ajo porro, las cebollas y los ajos!
6 and now our soul [is] dry, there is not anything, except the manna, before our eyes.”
Pero ahora se nos fue el apetito, pues nada ven nuestros ojos sino este maná.
7 And the manna is as coriander seed, and its aspect as the aspect of bdellium;
El maná era como semilla de cilantro, y su aspecto como el aspecto de resina.
8 the people have turned aside and gathered [it], and ground [it] with millstones, or beat [it] in a mortar, and boiled [it] in a pan, and made it cakes, and its taste has been as the taste of the moisture of oil.
El pueblo se dispersaba para recogerlo y lo molían en molinos o lo machacaban en morteros. Lo cocinaban en ollas o hacían tortas con él, y su sabor era como el sabor de tortas horneadas con aceite.
9 And in the descending of the dew on the camp by night, the manna descends on it.
Por la noche, cuando el rocío descendía sobre el campamento, el maná descendía con él.
10 And Moses hears the people weeping by its families, each at the opening of his tent, and the anger of YHWH burns exceedingly, and in the eyes of Moses [it is] evil.
Moisés oyó al pueblo, cómo lloraban familias enteras, cada cual en la entrada de su tienda. La ira de Yavé se encendió grandemente, y también fue desagradable a los ojos de Moisés.
11 And Moses says to YHWH, “Why have You done evil to Your servant? And why have I not found grace in Your eyes—to put the burden of all this people on me?
Entonces dijo Moisés a Yavé: ¿Por qué maltratas a tu esclavo? ¿Por qué no hallé gracia ante Ti, pues echaste la carga de todo este pueblo sobre mí?
12 I—have I conceived all this people? I—have I begotten it, that You say to me, Carry it in your bosom, as the one supporting carries the nursing suckling, to the ground which You have sworn to its fathers?
¿Yo concebí a todo este pueblo o lo engendré para que me digas: Cárgalo en tu pecho, como una madre de crianza lleva al que mama, a la tierra que prometiste con juramento a sus antepasados?
13 From where do I have flesh to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, Give flesh to us, and we eat.
¿De dónde tengo yo carne para todo este pueblo? Pues lloran ante mí, y dicen: ¡Danos a comer carne!
14 I am not able—I alone—to bear all this people, for [it is] too heavy for me;
No puedo yo solo soportar todo este pueblo, pues es demasiado pesado para mí.
15 and if thus You are doing to me—please slay me; slay, if I have found grace in your eyes, and do not let me look on my affliction.”
Si así me vas a tratar, mátame del todo. Si hallé gracia ante Ti, te ruego, para que yo no vea más tu mal.
16 And YHWH says to Moses, “Gather to Me seventy men from [the] elderly of Israel, whom you have known that they are [the] elderly of the people, and its authorities; and you have taken them to the Tent of Meeting, and they have stationed themselves there with you,
Yavé dijo a Moisés: Reúneme 70 varones de los ancianos de Israel, que tú sabes que son ancianos y oficiales del pueblo. Tráelos a la entrada del Tabernáculo de Reunión, y que permanezcan allí contigo.
17 and I have come down and spoken with you there, and have kept back of the Spirit which [is] on you, and have put [that One] on them, and they have borne some of the burden of the people with you, and you do not bear [it] alone.
Yo descenderé y hablaré allí contigo. Tomaré del Espíritu que está sobre ti y lo pondré sobre ellos, para que lleven la carga del pueblo contigo y no la lleves tú solo.
18 And you say to the people: Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you have eaten flesh, for you have wept in the ears of YHWH, saying, Who gives us flesh? For we [had] good in Egypt; and YHWH has given flesh to you, and you have eaten.
Dirás al pueblo: Santifíquense para mañana, y comerán carne, porque lloraron a oídos de Yavé, y dijeron: ¡Quién nos diera a comer carne! Pues nos iba mejor en Egipto. Yavé, pues, les dará carne, y comerán.
19 You do not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,
No comerán solo un día, ni dos, ni cinco, ni diez, ni 20 días,
20 [but] even to a month of days, until it comes out from your nostrils, and it has become an abomination to you, because that you have loathed YHWH, who [is] in your midst, and weep before Him, saying, Why is this [that] we have come out of Egypt!”
sino hasta un mes, hasta que les salga por las fosas nasales y la aborrezcan, por cuanto despreciaron a Yavé, Quien está en medio de ustedes. Lloraron delante de Él y dijeron: ¿Para qué salimos de Egipto?
21 And Moses says, “Six hundred thousand footmen [are] the people in whose midst I [dwell]; and You, You have said, I give flesh to them, and they have eaten [for] a month of days!
Pero Moisés respondió: el pueblo en medio del cual estoy es 600.000 de a pie, y Tú dices: Les daré carne para que coman un mes entero.
22 Is flock and herd slaughtered for them, that one has found [enough] for them? Are all the fishes of the sea gathered for them, that one has found [enough] for them?”
Si se degollara todo el rebaño y el ganado vacuno, ¿alcanzaría para ellos? Si se recogieran para ellos todos los peces del mar, ¿les sería suficiente?
23 And YHWH says to Moses, “Has the hand of YHWH become short? Now you see whether My word meets you or not.”
Yavé respondió a Moisés: ¿Se acortó la mano de Yavé? ¡Ahora verás si se te cumple o no mi Palabra!
24 And Moses goes out, and speaks the words of YHWH to the people, and gathers seventy men from [the] elderly of the people, and causes them to stand around the tent,
Entonces Moisés salió y dijo al pueblo las Palabras de Yavé. También reunió a los 70 varones de los ancianos del pueblo y los puso alrededor del Tabernáculo.
25 and YHWH comes down in the cloud, and speaks to him, and keeps back of the Spirit which [is] on him, and puts [that One] on the seventy elderly men; and it comes to pass at the resting of the Spirit on them, that they prophesy, and they have never done [so] again.
Yavé descendió en la nube y le habló. Luego tomó del Espíritu que estaba sobre él y lo colocó sobre los 70 ancianos. Cuando el Espíritu descansó sobre ellos, profetizaron, pero después no continuaron.
26 And two of the men are left in the camp, the name of the first [is] Eldad and the name of the second Medad, and the spirit rests on them (and they are among those written, but they have not gone out to the tent), and they prophesy in the camp;
Quedaron en el campamento dos hombres. El nombre de uno era Eldad y el del otro, Medad. El Espíritu reposó también sobre ellos, pues figuraban entre los contados, pero no fueron al Tabernáculo. Ellos profetizaron en el campamento.
27 and the young man runs, and declares [it] to Moses, and says, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”
Un joven corrió y dio aviso a Moisés: Eldad y Medad profetizan en el campamento.
28 And Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, [one] of his young men, answers and says, “My lord Moses, restrain them.”
Entonces Josué, hijo de Nun, el ayudante de Moisés desde su juventud, respondió: Moisés, ʼadón mío, ¡impídeles!
29 And Moses says to him, “Are you zealous for me? O that all YHWH’s people were prophets! That YHWH would put His Spirit on them!”
Pero Moisés le dijo: ¿Tienes celos por causa de mí? ¡Ojalá todo el pueblo de Yavé fuera profeta, y que Yavé impusiera su Espíritu sobre ellos!
30 And Moses is gathered to the camp, he and [the] elderly of Israel.
Moisés volvió al campamento junto con los ancianos de Israel.
31 And a spirit has journeyed from YHWH, and cuts off quails from the sea, and leaves [them] by the camp, as a day’s journey here and as a day’s journey there, around the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the land.
Entonces llegó un viento de parte de Yavé que trajo codornices desde el mar, y las dejó caer sobre el campamento, como un día de camino por un lado y un día de camino por el otro, a casi 90 centímetros de altura sobre la superficie de la tierra.
32 And the people rise all that day, and all the night, and all the day after, and gather the quails—he who has least has gathered ten homers—and they spread them out for themselves around the camp.
El pueblo estuvo levantado todo aquel día, toda aquella noche y todo el día siguiente recogiendo codornices. El que menos recogió, hizo diez montones de 220 litros, y los esparcieron alrededor del campamento.
33 The flesh is yet between their teeth—it is not yet cut off—and the anger of YHWH has burned among the people, and YHWH strikes [with] a very great striking among the people;
Pero mientras la carne estaba entre los dientes de ellos, antes que la masticaran, la ira de Yavé se encendió contra el pueblo, y Yavé golpeó al pueblo con un azote muy grande.
34 and [one] calls the name of that place Kibroth-Hattaavah, for there they have buried the people who lust.
[Alguien] llamó aquel lugar Kibrot-hatava, porque allí sepultaron a un pueblo codicioso.
35 From Kibroth-Hattaavah the people have journeyed to Hazeroth, and they are in Hazeroth.
Luego el pueblo salió de Kibrot-hatava para Haserot, y permaneció en Haserot.
