Numbers 11
1 And the people are evil, as those sighing habitually in the ears of YHWH, and YHWH hears, and His anger burns, and the fire of YHWH burns among them, and consumes in the extremity of the camp.
| قوم اسرائیل به خاطر سختیهای خود لب به شکایت گشودند. خداوند شکایت آنها را شنید و غضبش افروخته شد. پس آتش خداوند از یک گوشهٔ اردو شروع به نابود کردن قوم کرد. |
2 And the people cry to Moses, and Moses prays to YHWH, and the fire is quenched;
| ایشان فریاد سر داده، از موسی کمک خواستند و چون موسی برای آنان نزد خداوند دعا کرد، آتش متوقف شد. |
3 and he calls the name of that place Taberah, for the fire of YHWH has “burned” among them.
| از آن پس آنجا را «تبعیره» (یعنی «سوختن») نامیدند، چون در آنجا آتش خداوند در میان ایشان شعله‌ور شده بود. |
4 And the rabble who [are] in its midst have lusted greatly, and the sons of Israel also turn back and weep, and say, “Who gives us flesh?
| آنگاه غریبانی که از مصر همراه ایشان آمده بودند در آرزوی چیزهای خوب مصر اظهار دلتنگی می‌کردند و این خود بر نارضایتی قوم اسرائیل می‌افزود به طوری که ناله‌کنان می‌گفتند: «ای کاش کمی گوشت می‌خوردیم! چه ماهی‌های لذیذی در مصر می‌خوردیم! |
5 We have remembered the fish which we eat in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;
| یادِ آن ماهیها که در مصر مفت می‌خوردیم به خیر! چه خیارها و خربزه‌هایی! چه تره‌ها و سیرها و پیازهایی! |
6 and now our soul [is] dry, there is not anything, except the manna, before our eyes.”
| ولی حالا قوتی برای ما نمانده است، چون چیزی برای خوردن نداریم جز این مَنّا!» |
7 And the manna is as coriander seed, and its aspect as the aspect of bdellium;
| (مَنّا به اندازهٔ تخم گشنیز و به رنگ سفید مایل به زرد بود. |
8 the people have turned aside and gathered [it], and ground [it] with millstones, or beat [it] in a mortar, and boiled [it] in a pan, and made it cakes, and its taste has been as the taste of the moisture of oil.
| بنی‌اسرائیل آن را از روی زمین جمع کرده، می‌کوبیدند و به صورت آرد درمی‌آوردند، سپس، از آن آرد، قرصهای نان می‌پختند. طعم آن مثل طعم نانهای روغنی بود. |
9 And in the descending of the dew on the camp by night, the manna descends on it.
| مَنّا با شبنم شامگاهی بر زمین می‌نشست.) |
10 And Moses hears the people weeping by its families, each at the opening of his tent, and the anger of YHWH burns exceedingly, and in the eyes of Moses [it is] evil.
| موسی صدای تمام خانواده‌هایی را که در اطراف خیمه‌های خود ایستاده گریه می‌کردند شنید. پس خشم خداوند سخت شعله‌ور گردید و موسی نیز از این امر بسیار ناراحت شد. |
11 And Moses says to YHWH, “Why have You done evil to Your servant? And why have I not found grace in Your eyes—to put the burden of all this people on me?
| موسی به خداوند گفت: «چرا با من که خدمتگزارت هستم چنین رفتار می‌کنی و مرا در این تنگنا گذاشته‌ای؟ به من رحم کن! مگر من چه کرده‌ام که بار این قوم را بر دوش من گذاشته‌ای؟ |
12 I—have I conceived all this people? I—have I begotten it, that You say to me, Carry it in your bosom, as the one supporting carries the nursing suckling, to the ground which You have sworn to its fathers?
| آیا اینها بچه‌های من هستند؟ آیا من آنها را زاییده‌ام که به من می‌گویی آنها را مانند دایه در آغوش گرفته، به سرزمینی که برای اجدادشان قسم خوردی، ببرم؟ |
13 From where do I have flesh to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, Give flesh to us, and we eat.
| برای این همه جمعیت چگونه گوشت تهیه کنم؟ زیرا نزد من گریه کرده، می‌گویند:”به ما گوشت بده!“ |
14 I am not able—I alone—to bear all this people, for [it is] too heavy for me;
| من به تنهایی نمی‌توانم سنگینی بار این قوم را تحمل کنم. این باری است بسیار سنگین! |
15 and if thus You are doing to me—please slay me; slay, if I have found grace in your eyes, and do not let me look on my affliction.”
| اگر می‌خواهی با من چنین کنی، درخواست می‌کنم مرا بکشی و از این وضع طاقت‌فرسا نجات دهی!» |
16 And YHWH says to Moses, “Gather to Me seventy men from [the] elderly of Israel, whom you have known that they are [the] elderly of the people, and its authorities; and you have taken them to the Tent of Meeting, and they have stationed themselves there with you,
| پس خداوند به موسی فرمود: «هفتاد نفر از مردان اسرائیل را که به‌عنوان شیخ و رهبر شناخته شده‌اند به حضور من بخوان. آنها را به خیمهٔ ملاقات بیاور تا در آنجا با تو بایستند. |
17 and I have come down and spoken with you there, and have kept back of the Spirit which [is] on you, and have put [that One] on them, and they have borne some of the burden of the people with you, and you do not bear [it] alone.
| من نزول کرده، در آنجا با تو سخن خواهم گفت و از روحی که بر تو قرار دارد گرفته، بر ایشان نیز خواهم نهاد تا با تو بار این قوم را بر دوش بکشند و تو تنها نباشی. |
18 And you say to the people: Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you have eaten flesh, for you have wept in the ears of YHWH, saying, Who gives us flesh? For we [had] good in Egypt; and YHWH has given flesh to you, and you have eaten.
| «به بنی‌اسرائیل بگو:”خود را طاهر سازید، چون فردا گوشت به شما خواهم داد تا بخورید. شما گریه کردید و خداوند ناله‌های شما را شنیده است که گفته‌اید: «ای کاش گوشت برای خوردن می‌داشتیم. وقتی در مصر بودیم وضع ما بهتر بود!» پس خداوند به شما گوشت خواهد داد تا بخورید |
19 You do not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,
| نه برای یک روز، دو روز، پنج روز، ده روز، بیست روز، |
20 [but] even to a month of days, until it comes out from your nostrils, and it has become an abomination to you, because that you have loathed YHWH, who [is] in your midst, and weep before Him, saying, Why is this [that] we have come out of Egypt!”
| بلکه برای یک ماه تمام گوشت خواهید خورد به حدی که از دماغتان درآید و از آن بیزار شوید، زیرا خداوند را که در میان شماست رد نموده، از فراق مصر گریه کردید.“» |
21 And Moses says, “Six hundred thousand footmen [are] the people in whose midst I [dwell]; and You, You have said, I give flesh to them, and they have eaten [for] a month of days!
| ولی موسی گفت: «تنها تعداد سربازان پیادهٔ قوم ششصد هزار نفر است و آنگاه تو قول می‌دهی که یک ماه تمام گوشت به این قوم بدهی؟ |
22 Is flock and herd slaughtered for them, that one has found [enough] for them? Are all the fishes of the sea gathered for them, that one has found [enough] for them?”
| اگر ما تمام گله‌ها و رمه‌های خود را سر ببریم باز هم کفاف این تعداد را نخواهد داد! و اگر تمام ماهیان دریا را هم بگیریم این قوم را نمی‌توانیم سیر کنیم!» |
23 And YHWH says to Moses, “Has the hand of YHWH become short? Now you see whether My word meets you or not.”
| خداوند به موسی فرمود: «آیا من ناتوان شده‌ام؟ به‌زودی خواهی دید که کلام من راست است یا نه.» |
24 And Moses goes out, and speaks the words of YHWH to the people, and gathers seventy men from [the] elderly of the people, and causes them to stand around the tent,
| پس موسی خیمهٔ ملاقات را ترک کرده، سخنان خداوند را به گوش قوم رسانید و هفتاد نفر از مشایخ بنی‌اسرائیل را جمع کرده، ایشان را در اطراف خیمه قرار داد. |
25 and YHWH comes down in the cloud, and speaks to him, and keeps back of the Spirit which [is] on him, and puts [that One] on the seventy elderly men; and it comes to pass at the resting of the Spirit on them, that they prophesy, and they have never done [so] again.
| خداوند در ابر نازل شده، با موسی صحبت کرد و از روحی که بر موسی قرار داشت گرفته، بر آن هفتاد شیخ نهاد. وقتی که روح بر ایشان قرار گرفت نبوّت کردند، اما پس از آن دیگر نبوّت نکردند. |
26 And two of the men are left in the camp, the name of the first [is] Eldad and the name of the second Medad, and the spirit rests on them (and they are among those written, but they have not gone out to the tent), and they prophesy in the camp;
| دو نفر از آن هفتاد نفر به نامهای الداد و میداد، در اردوگاه مانده و به خیمۀ ملاقات نرفته بودند، ولی روح بر ایشان نیز قرار گرفت و در همان جایی که بودند نبوّت کردند. |
27 and the young man runs, and declares [it] to Moses, and says, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”
| جوانی دویده، به موسی خبر داد: «اِلداد و میداد در اردوگاه نبوت می‌کنند.» |
28 And Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, [one] of his young men, answers and says, “My lord Moses, restrain them.”
| یوشع پسر نون که یکی از دستیاران برگزیدۀ موسی بود اعتراض نموده، گفت: «ای سرور من، جلوی کار آنها را بگیر!» |
29 And Moses says to him, “Are you zealous for me? O that all YHWH’s people were prophets! That YHWH would put His Spirit on them!”
| ولی موسی جواب داد: «آیا تو به جای من حسادت می‌کنی؟ ای کاش تمامی قوم خداوند نبی بودند و خداوند روح خود را بر همهٔ آنها می‌نهاد!» |
30 And Moses is gathered to the camp, he and [the] elderly of Israel.
| بعد موسی با مشایخ اسرائیل به اردوگاه بازگشت. |
31 And a spirit has journeyed from YHWH, and cuts off quails from the sea, and leaves [them] by the camp, as a day’s journey here and as a day’s journey there, around the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the land.
| خداوند بادی وزانید که از دریا بلدرچین آورد. بلدرچین‌ها اطراف اردوگاه را از هر طرف به مسافت یک روز راه در ارتفاعی نزدیک به یک متر از سطح زمین پر ساختند. |
32 And the people rise all that day, and all the night, and all the day after, and gather the quails—he who has least has gathered ten homers—and they spread them out for themselves around the camp.
| بنی‌اسرائیل تمام آن روز و شب و روز بعد از آن، بلدرچین گرفتند. حداقل وزن پرندگانی که هر کس جمع کرده بود نزدیک به هزار کیلو بود. به منظور خشک کردن بلدرچین‌ها، آنها را در اطراف اردوگاه پهن کردند. |
33 The flesh is yet between their teeth—it is not yet cut off—and the anger of YHWH has burned among the people, and YHWH strikes [with] a very great striking among the people;
| اما گوشت هنوز زیر دندانهایشان بود که خشم خداوند بر قوم اسرائیل افروخته شد و بلایی سخت نازل کرده، عدهٔ زیادی از آنان را از بین برد. |
34 and [one] calls the name of that place Kibroth-Hattaavah, for there they have buried the people who lust.
| پس آن مکان را «قبروت هتاوه» (یعنی «قبرستان حرص و ولع») نامیدند، چون در آنجا اشخاصی را دفن کردند که برای گوشت و سرزمین مصر حریص شده بودند. |
35 From Kibroth-Hattaavah the people have journeyed to Hazeroth, and they are in Hazeroth.
| قوم اسرائیل از آنجا به حضیروت کوچ کرده، مدتی در آنجا ماندند. |
