< Numbers 11 >
1 And the people are evil, as those sighing habitually in the ears of YHWH, and YHWH hears, and His anger burns, and the fire of YHWH burns among them, and consumes in the extremity of the camp.
Awo abantu ne beemulugunya olw’ebizibu byabwe nga ne Mukama awulira; bwe yabawulira obusungu bwe ne bubuubuuka. Omuliro ne guva eri Mukama ne gwakira mu bo, ne gwokya ebitundu ebimu ebyali bikomererayo eby’olusiisira lwabwe.
2 And the people cry to Moses, and Moses prays to YHWH, and the fire is quenched;
Abantu ne bakaabirira Musa; Musa n’asaba Mukama, omuliro ne guzikira.
3 and he calls the name of that place Taberah, for the fire of YHWH has “burned” among them.
Ekifo ekyo ne kituumibwa erinnya Tabera, kubanga omuliro ogwava eri Mukama gwabaakiramu.
4 And the rabble who [are] in its midst have lusted greatly, and the sons of Israel also turn back and weep, and say, “Who gives us flesh?
Abagwira abaali beetabudde mu baana ba Isirayiri ne baluluunkanira ebyokulya; n’abaana ba Isirayiri nabo ne bongera okukaaba nga bwe bagamba nti, “Singa nno tufuna ku nnyama ne tulyako!
5 We have remembered the fish which we eat in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;
Tukyajjukira ebyennyanja bye twalyanga mu Misiri nga tewali na kye tubisasulidde, ne wujju n’ensujju, n’enderema n’obutungulu ne katungulukyumu n’ebyokuliira.
6 and now our soul [is] dry, there is not anything, except the manna, before our eyes.”
Naye kaakano n’okwoya emmere kutuweddemu, buli we tukuba eriiso tulaba mmaanu eno!”
7 And the manna is as coriander seed, and its aspect as the aspect of bdellium;
Emmaanu yafaanananga ng’ensigo za koliyanda, nga n’ekifaananyi kyayo kiri ng’ekya bideriamu.
8 the people have turned aside and gathered [it], and ground [it] with millstones, or beat [it] in a mortar, and boiled [it] in a pan, and made it cakes, and its taste has been as the taste of the moisture of oil.
Abantu baagendanga ne bagikuŋŋaanya ne bagiseera ku lubengo oba ne bagisekulira mu binu, ne bagifumba mu ntamu oba ne bakolamu bukeeke. Nga mu kamwa ebanga ekoleddwa n’amafuta ga zeyituuni.
9 And in the descending of the dew on the camp by night, the manna descends on it.
Omusulo bwe gwagwanga mu lusiisira ekiro n’emmaanu nayo n’egwa nagwo.
10 And Moses hears the people weeping by its families, each at the opening of his tent, and the anger of YHWH burns exceedingly, and in the eyes of Moses [it is] evil.
Musa n’awulira abantu aba buli luggya nga bakaaba, buli omu ng’akaabira mu muzigo gw’eweema ye; obusungu bwa Mukama Katonda ne bubuubuuka nnyo, ne Musa n’asoberwa n’anyiikaala.
11 And Moses says to YHWH, “Why have You done evil to Your servant? And why have I not found grace in Your eyes—to put the burden of all this people on me?
Musa n’agamba Mukama Katonda nti, “Lwaki oleetedde omuddu wo obuzibu buno? Nkoze ki ekitakusanyusizza ne kikuleetera okwetikka omugugu gw’abantu bano bonna?
12 I—have I conceived all this people? I—have I begotten it, that You say to me, Carry it in your bosom, as the one supporting carries the nursing suckling, to the ground which You have sworn to its fathers?
Nze nali olubuto omwali abantu bano bonna? Nze nabazaala? Lwaki oŋŋamba okubasitula mu mikono gyange ng’omulezi w’abaana bw’asitula omwana omuwere mbatwale mu nsi gye wabasuubiza ng’ogirayirira bajjajjaabwe?
13 From where do I have flesh to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, Give flesh to us, and we eat.
Ennyama abantu bano bonna gye banaalya nnaagiggya wa? Kubanga baneetayirira nga bankaabirira nti, ‘Tuwe ennyama tulye!’
14 I am not able—I alone—to bear all this people, for [it is] too heavy for me;
Sisobola kusitula bantu bano bonna bw’omu kubanga obuzito bwabwe buyinza okummenya nga ndi nzekka.
15 and if thus You are doing to me—please slay me; slay, if I have found grace in your eyes, and do not let me look on my affliction.”
Obanga bw’otyo bw’ojja okumpisa, ate nga bulijjo ondaga ekisa kyo, kale nno nzitiraawo kaakano oleme kundeka ne neereetera okwezikiriza.”
16 And YHWH says to Moses, “Gather to Me seventy men from [the] elderly of Israel, whom you have known that they are [the] elderly of the people, and its authorities; and you have taken them to the Tent of Meeting, and they have stationed themselves there with you,
Mukama n’agamba Musa nti, “Nfunira abasajja nsanvu mu bakulu ba Isirayiri b’omanyi nga be bakulu b’abantu era nga be bakulembeze baabwe obaleete ku Weema ey’Okukuŋŋaanirangamu, bayimirire awo naawe.
17 and I have come down and spoken with you there, and have kept back of the Spirit which [is] on you, and have put [that One] on them, and they have borne some of the burden of the people with you, and you do not bear [it] alone.
Nzija kukka awo njogere naawe; era nzija kutoola ku mwoyo oguli mu ggwe ngubateekemu, balyokenga bakusitulireko omugugu gw’abantu oleme kugwetikkanga wekka.
18 And you say to the people: Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you have eaten flesh, for you have wept in the ears of YHWH, saying, Who gives us flesh? For we [had] good in Egypt; and YHWH has given flesh to you, and you have eaten.
“Abantu bagambe nti, ‘Mwetukuze nga mwetegekera olunaku lw’enkya, lwe mujja okulya ennyama. Kubanga Mukama Katonda yabawulira nga mumukaabirira bwe muti nti, “Singa tufunye ku nnyama ne tulyako! Bwe twali mu Misiri twali bulungi!” Noolwekyo Mukama ajja kubawa ennyama mugirye.
19 You do not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,
Temugenda kugirya mu lunaku lumu, oba mu nnaku bbiri, oba mu nnaku ttaano, oba mu nnaku kkumi, oba nnaku abiri;
20 [but] even to a month of days, until it comes out from your nostrils, and it has become an abomination to you, because that you have loathed YHWH, who [is] in your midst, and weep before Him, saying, Why is this [that] we have come out of Egypt!”
naye kumala mwezi mulambirira, okutuusa lw’erifulumira mu nnyindo zammwe n’ebanyiwa, kubanga mwesamudde Mukama Katonda abeera mu mmwe, ne mumukaabirira nga mugamba nti, “Mu Misiri twaviirayo ki?”’”
21 And Moses says, “Six hundred thousand footmen [are] the people in whose midst I [dwell]; and You, You have said, I give flesh to them, and they have eaten [for] a month of days!
Musa n’agamba nti, “Abantu bano mwe ndi bawera omuwendo gwa mitwalo nkaaga abatambuza ebigere, naawe ogamba nti, ‘Nzija kubawa ennyama gye banaalya okumala omwezi mulamba!’
22 Is flock and herd slaughtered for them, that one has found [enough] for them? Are all the fishes of the sea gathered for them, that one has found [enough] for them?”
Ebisolo ebiri mu biraalo ne mu bisibo bwe binattibwa binaabamala? Nantiki ebyennyanja byonna eby’omu nnyanja bwe binaavubibwa ne bibaweebwa, binaabamala?”
23 And YHWH says to Moses, “Has the hand of YHWH become short? Now you see whether My word meets you or not.”
Mukama n’agamba Musa nti, “Omukono gwa Mukama Katonda guyimpawadde? Kaakano ojja kulaba obanga ekigambo kyange kye nkugambye kinaatuukirira oba tekiituukirire.”
24 And Moses goes out, and speaks the words of YHWH to the people, and gathers seventy men from [the] elderly of the people, and causes them to stand around the tent,
Awo Musa n’afuluma n’ategeeza abantu ebigambo bya Mukama Katonda; n’akuŋŋaanya abasajja nsanvu mu bakulembeze b’abantu n’abayimiriza okumpi ne Weema ya Mukama.
25 and YHWH comes down in the cloud, and speaks to him, and keeps back of the Spirit which [is] on him, and puts [that One] on the seventy elderly men; and it comes to pass at the resting of the Spirit on them, that they prophesy, and they have never done [so] again.
Awo Mukama Katonda n’akkira mu kire n’ayogera ne Musa, n’addira ku mwoyo ogwali mu Musa n’agussa mu bakulembeze ensanvu. Omwoyo bwe baagufuna ne batandika okutegeeza obunnabbi, kyokka tebaddayo nate kukikola.
26 And two of the men are left in the camp, the name of the first [is] Eldad and the name of the second Medad, and the spirit rests on them (and they are among those written, but they have not gone out to the tent), and they prophesy in the camp;
Waaliwo abasajja babiri nga bayitibwa Eridaadi ne Medadi, baali babaliddwa ku bakulembeze ensanvu, naye bo ne basigala mu lusiisira, ne batagenda ku Weema ya Mukama; nabo baafuna omwoyo, era ne bategeeza obunnabbi mu lusiisira.
27 and the young man runs, and declares [it] to Moses, and says, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”
Omuvubuka n’adduka n’agenda ategeeza Musa nti, “Eridaadi ne Medadi bategeeza obunnabbi mu lusiisira.”
28 And Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, [one] of his young men, answers and says, “My lord Moses, restrain them.”
Awo Yoswa mutabani wa Nuuni, omuweereza wa Musa gwe yali yeerondedde ng’akyali muvubuka n’agamba nti, “Mukama wange Musa, baziyize.”
29 And Moses says to him, “Are you zealous for me? O that all YHWH’s people were prophets! That YHWH would put His Spirit on them!”
Naye Musa n’amugamba nti, “Okwatiddwa obuggya ku lwange? Kyandibadde kirungi singa abantu ba Mukama bonna bannabbi, ne Mukama Katonda n’abawa omwoyo gwe!”
30 And Moses is gathered to the camp, he and [the] elderly of Israel.
Musa n’abakulembeze ba Isirayiri ne baddayo mu lusiisira.
31 And a spirit has journeyed from YHWH, and cuts off quails from the sea, and leaves [them] by the camp, as a day’s journey here and as a day’s journey there, around the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the land.
Awo empewo n’eva eri Mukama Katonda n’ereeta obugubi nga buva mu nnyanja ne bugwa okwebungulula olusiisira nga bukoze entuumo nga ya mita emu okuva ku ttaka, nga bujjuza ebbanga lya lugendo lwa lunaku lumu ku ludda olumu olw’olusiisira n’olugendo lwa lunaku lumu ku ludda olulala.
32 And the people rise all that day, and all the night, and all the day after, and gather the quails—he who has least has gathered ten homers—and they spread them out for themselves around the camp.
Ku lunaku olwo ne ku lunaku olwaddirira abantu ne bakuŋŋaanya obugubi emisana n’ekiro. Tewali yakuŋŋaanya buzito bwakka wansi wa kilo lukumi; ne babwanika buli wantu mu lusiisira.
33 The flesh is yet between their teeth—it is not yet cut off—and the anger of YHWH has burned among the people, and YHWH strikes [with] a very great striking among the people;
Naye ennyama yali ekyali mu mannyo gaabwe nga tebannaba kugirya, obusungu bwa Mukama Katonda ne bubuubuukira abantu n’abaleetera kawumpuli ow’amaanyi ennyo.
34 and [one] calls the name of that place Kibroth-Hattaavah, for there they have buried the people who lust.
Noolwekyo ekifo ekyo kyekyava kituumibwa Kiberosu Katava, kubanga awo we baaziika abantu abaalina omulugube.
35 From Kibroth-Hattaavah the people have journeyed to Hazeroth, and they are in Hazeroth.
Abantu bwe baava e Kiberosu Katava ne batambula okutuuka e Kazerosi ne babeera awo.
