1 And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Mōsese, ʻo pehē,
2 “Make two trumpets of silver for yourself; you make them of beaten work, and they have been for you for the convocation of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps;
“Ke ke ngaohi maʻau ʻae meʻalea ʻe ua ʻaki ʻae siliva, ko e konga pe taha ke ke ngaohi ʻaki ia: koeʻuhi ke ke ui ʻaki ia ʻae fakataha, pea mo e fononga ʻoe ngaahi ʻapitanga.
3 and they have blown with them, and all the congregation has assembled to you at the opening of the Tent of Meeting.
Pea ʻoka nau ka ifi ia ʻe fakataha ʻae kakai kotoa pē kiate koe ki he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai.
4 And if they blow with one, then the princes, heads of the thousands of Israel, have assembled to you;
Pea kapau tenau ifi ʻaki ʻae meʻalea pe taha, ʻe toki fakataha ai kiate koe ʻae houʻeiki, ʻaia ʻoku ʻeiki ki he ngaahi toko afe ʻo ʻIsileli.
5 and you have blown—a shout, and the camps which are encamping eastward have journeyed.
Pea ka mou ka ifi fakakaila, ʻe toki hiki atu ʻae ngaahi ʻapitanga ʻoku nofo ʻi he potu hahake.
6 And you have blown—a second shout, and the camps which are encamping southward have journeyed; they blow a shout for their journeys.
Pea ka mou ka ifi fakakaila ʻo tuʻo ua, ʻe toki hiki atu ʻae ngaahi ʻapitanga ʻoku nofo ʻi he potu tonga: ʻe ifi fakakaila ia ke teu honau fononga.
7 And in the assembling of the assembly you blow, and do not shout;
Ka ʻi he tānaki ʻo fakataha ʻae kakai te mou ifi, ka ʻe ʻikai te mou ifi fakakaila.
8 and sons of Aaron, the priests, blow with the trumpets; and they have been for a continuous statute to you throughout your generations.
“Pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone, ko e kau taulaʻeiki, tenau ifi ʻae ongo meʻalea; Pea ʻe tuku ia ko e talatuku ki homou ngaahi toʻutangata ʻo lauikuonga.
9 And when you go into battle in your land against the adversary who is distressing you, then you have shouted with the trumpets, and you have been remembered before your God YHWH, and you have been saved from your enemies.
Pea kapau te mou ʻalu ʻi homou fonua ke tau ki he fili ʻoku fakamālohi kiate kimoutolu, te mou toki ifi fakakailaʻaki ʻae ongo meʻalea: pea ʻe manatuʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko homou ʻOtua, pea ʻe fakamoʻui ʻakimoutolu mei homou ngaahi fili.
10 And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and in the beginnings of your months, you have also blown with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings, and they have been for a memorial to you before your God; I [am] your God YHWH.”
“Pea ko e ʻaho foki ʻo hoʻomou fiefia, pea mo homou ngaahi ʻaho tapu, ʻi he ʻuluaki ʻo homou ngaahi māhina, te mou ifi ʻaki ʻae ongo meʻalea ʻi hoʻomou feilaulau tutu, pea mo e feilaulau ʻi hoʻomou feilaulau fakalelei; koeʻuhi ke tuku ia ko e fakamanatu kiate kimoutolu ʻi he ʻao ʻo homou ʻOtua: Ko au ko Sihova ko homou ʻOtua.”
11 And it comes to pass, in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, the cloud has gone up from off the Dwelling Place of the Testimony,
Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he [ʻaho ]uofulu ʻo hono ua māhina, ʻi hono ua ʻoe taʻu naʻe toʻo hake ʻae ʻao mei he fale fehikitaki ʻoe fakamoʻoni.
12 and the sons of Israel journey in their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud dwells in the wilderness of Paran;
Pea naʻe fononga atu ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli mei he toafa ʻo Sainai; pea naʻe tuʻu ʻae ʻao ʻi he toafa ʻo Palani.
13 and they journey at first by the command of YHWH in the hand of Moses.
Pea naʻa nau tomuʻa fononga ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova ʻi he nima ʻo Mōsese.
14 And the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah journeys in the first [place], by their hosts, and over its host [is] Nahshon son of Amminadab.
Pea naʻe muʻomuʻa ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoe fakataha ʻoe fānau ʻa Siuta ʻo fakatatau ki heʻenau ngaahi matatau: pea ko Nasoni ko e foha ʻo ʻAminitapi naʻe pule ia ki heʻene kautau.
15 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar [is] Nathaneel son of Zuar.
Pea ko Netanili ko e foha ʻo Sua, naʻe pule ia ki he kau tau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsaka.
16 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun [is] Eliab son of Helon.
Pea ko ʻIliapi ko e foha ʻo Heloni, naʻe pule ia ki he kau tau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Sepuloni.
17 And the Dwelling Place has been taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari have journeyed, carrying the Dwelling Place.
Pea naʻe vete hifo ʻae fale fehikitaki; pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Kesoni mo e ngaahi foha ʻo Melali naʻa nau hiki atu, ʻo fua ʻae fale fehikitaki.
18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben has journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host [is] Elizur son of Shedeur.
Pea naʻe hiki atu ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoe fakataha ʻo Lupeni ʻo fakatatau ki heʻenau ngaahi matatau: pea ko ʻIlisua ko e foha ʻo Setiua naʻe pule ia ki heʻene kautau.
19 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon [is] Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
Pea ko Selumieli ko e foha ʻo Sulisatai, naʻe pule ia ki he kautau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Simione.
20 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Gad [is] Eliasaph son of Deuel.
Pea ko ʻIliasafi ko e foha ʻo Teuili, naʻe pule ia ki he kautau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Kata.
21 And the Kohathites have journeyed, carrying the Dwelling Place, and the [others] have raised up the Dwelling Place until their coming in.
Pea naʻe hiki atu ʻae kau Kohate, ʻonau fua ʻae faletapu: pea naʻe fokotuʻu ʻe he kau Kesoni mo e kau Melali ʻae fale fehikitaki ʻi he teʻeki ai ke nau haʻu.
22 And the standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim has journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host [is] Elishama son of Ammihud.
Pea naʻe hiki atu ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoe fakataha ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIfalemi, ʻo fakatatau ki heʻenau ngaahi matatau: pea ko ʻIlisama. Ko e foha ʻo ʻAmihuti naʻe pule ia ki heʻene kautau.
23 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh [is] Gamalial son of Pedahzur.
Pea ko Kāmelieli ko e foha ʻo Petasuli, naʻe pule ia ki he kautau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Manase.
24 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin [is] Abidan son of Gideoni.
Pea ko ʻEpitani ko e foha ʻo Kitione, naʻe pule ia ki he kautau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Penisimani.
25 And the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan has journeyed (rearward to all the camps), by their hosts, and over its host [is] Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
Pea naʻe hiki atu ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoe fakataha ʻoe fānau ʻa Tani, ʻaia naʻe muimui ʻi he kongakau kotoa pē ʻi heʻenau ngaahi kautau: pea ko ʻEhiesa ko e foha ʻo ʻAmisatai, naʻe pule ia ki heʻene kautau.
26 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Asher [is] Pagiel son of Ocran.
Pea ko Pakieli ko e foha ʻo ʻOkilani, naʻe pule ia ki he kautau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻAseli.
27 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali [is] Ahira son of Enan.
Pea ko Heila ko e foha ʻo ʻEnani, naʻe pule ia ki he kau tau ʻoe faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Nafitali
28 These [are] the journeys of the sons of Israel by their hosts when they journey.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻae ngaahi fononga ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻo fakatatau ki heʻenau ngaahi matatau, ʻi heʻenau hiki atu ke ʻalu.
29 And Moses says to Hobab son of Raguel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses, “We are journeying to the place of which YHWH has said, I give it to you; go with us, and we have done good to you, for YHWH has spoken good concerning Israel.”
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Mōsese kia Hopapi, ko e foha ʻo Lakueli ko e Mitiane, ko e tamai ʻa Mōsese ʻi he fono, “ʻOku mau fononga ki he potu ʻaia kuo pehē ki ai ʻe Sihova, Te u foaki ia kiate kimoutolu: haʻu ke tau ō, pea te mau fai lelei kiate koe: he kuo folofola lelei ʻa Sihova ki ʻIsileli.”
30 And he says to him, “I do not go; but I go to my land and to my family.”
Pea naʻa ne pehēange kiate ia, “ʻE ʻikai te u ʻalu; ka te u foki au ki hoku fonua, pea mo hoku kāinga.
31 And he says, “Please do not forsake us, because you have known our encamping in the wilderness, and you have been to us for eyes;
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “ʻOku ou kole kiate koe, ʻoua naʻa ke ʻalu ʻiate kimautolu; koeʻuhi ʻoku ke ʻilo ʻae anga ʻo ʻemau nofo ʻi he toafa, pea te ke ʻiate kimautolu ʻo hangē ko homau mata.
32 and it has come to pass, when you go with us—indeed, it has come to pass—that good which YHWH does kindly with us, we have done it kindly to you.”
Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻo kapau te tau ō mo koe, ʻio, ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ko e angalelei ʻe fai ʻe Sihova kiate kimautolu, ko ia pe te mau fai kiate koe.”
33 And they journey from the mountain of YHWH a journey of three days; and the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH is journeying before them [for] the journey of three days, to spy out a resting place for them;
Pea naʻa nau ʻalu mei he moʻunga ʻo Sihova ʻo fononga ʻi he ʻaho ʻe tolu: pea naʻe muʻomuʻa ʻiate kinautolu ʻae puha ʻoe fuakava ʻo Sihova ʻi he fononga ʻi he ʻaho ʻe tolu ko ia, ke kumi ha mālōlōʻanga moʻonautolu.
34 and the cloud of YHWH [is] on them by day, in their journeying from the camp.
Pea naʻe ʻiate kinautolu ʻae ʻao ʻa Sihova ʻi he ʻaho, ʻi heʻenau hiki mei he ʻapitanga.
35 And it comes to pass in the journeying of the Ark, that Moses says, “Rise, O YHWH, and Your enemies are scattered, and those hating You flee from Your presence.”
Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻI heʻene hiki atu ʻae puha, naʻe pehē ʻe Mōsese, “ʻE Sihova, Tuʻu hake, pea tuku ke movetevete ho ngaahi fili; pea ke tuku ʻakinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa ki hoʻo ʻafio ke vilingia ʻi ho ʻao.”
36 And in its resting he says, “Return, O YHWH, [to] the myriads, the thousands of Israel.”
Pea ʻi heʻene nofo ia, naʻa ne pehē, “ʻE Sihova, ke ke foki mai ki he ngaahi toko afe fakamanavahē ʻo ʻIsileli.”
