Nehemiah 7
1 And it comes to pass, when the wall has been built, that I set up the doors, and the gatekeepers are appointed, and the singers, and the Levites,
Då vi nu hade byggt murarna, hängde jag portarna före, och vordo beställde porthållare, sångare och Leviter.
2 and I charge my brother Hanani, and Hananiah head of the palace, concerning Jerusalem—for he [is] as a man of truth, and fearing God above many—
Och jag böd min broder Hanani, och Hanania palatsfogdanom i Jerusalem; ty han var en trofast man, och gudfruktig för många andra;
3 and I say to them, “Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the heat of the sun, and while they are standing by let them shut the doors, and fasten, and appoint guards of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his watch, and each in front of his house.”
Och sade till dem: Man skall icke upplåta portarna i Jerusalem, tilldess solen varder varm; och medan man ännu arbetar, skall man slå portarna till, och bommen före. Och vaktare vordo beställde utaf borgarena i Jerusalem, hvar och en på sine vakt, och om sitt hus.
4 And the city [is] broad on both sides, and great, and the people [are] few in its midst, and there are no houses built;
Och staden var vid till rum, och stor; men folket litet derinne, och husen voro icke uppbyggd.
5 and my God puts it to my heart, and I gather the nobles, and the prefects, and the people, for the genealogy, and I find a scroll of the genealogy of those coming up at the beginning, and I find written in it:
Och min Gud gaf mig i hjertat, att jag församlade rådherrarna och öfverstarna, och folket, till att räkna dem; och jag fann ett register på mantalet, deras som tillförene uppkomne voro, och fann deruti så skrifvet:
6 These [are] sons of the province, those coming up of the captives of the expulsion that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed—and they return to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his city—
Desse äro landsens barn, som uppkomne voro utaf fängelset, af dem som NebucadNezar, Konungen i Babel, hade bortfört, och i Jerusalem bodde, och i Juda, hvar och en i sin stad;
7 who are coming in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
Och voro komne med Serubbabel: Jesua, Nehemia, Asaria, Raamja, Nahamani, Mordechai, Bilsan, Misperet, Bigvai, Nehum och Baana. Detta är talet af männerna af Israels folk:
8 sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two;
Paros barn voro tutusend hundrade två och sjutio.
9 sons of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy-two;
Sephatja barn, trehundrad två och sjutio.
10 sons of Arah, six hundred fifty-two;

11 sons of Pahath-Moab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred [and] eighteen;

61 And these [are] those coming up from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer—and they have not been able to declare the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they [are] of Israel—
Desse drogo också med upp, af ThelMelah, ThelHarsa, Cherub, Addon och Immer; men de kunde icke bevisa deras fäders hus, eller deras säd, om de voro af Israel.
62 sons of Delaiah, sons of Tobiah, sons of Nekoda, six hundred forty-two.
Delaja barn, Tobia barn, Nekoda barn, voro sexhundrad två och fyratio.
63 And of the priests: sons of Habaiah, sons of Koz, sons of Barzillai (who has taken a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and is called by their name).
Och af Presterna: Habaja barn, Hakkoz barn, Barsillai barn, hvilken hustru tog af Barsillai den Gileaditens döttrar, och vardt efter deras namn nämnd.
64 These have sought their register among those reckoning themselves by genealogy, and it has not been found, and they are redeemed from the priesthood,

65 and the Tirshatha says to them that they do not eat of the most holy things until the standing up of the priest with [the] Lights and Perfections.
Och Thirsatha sade till dem, att de icke skulle äta utaf det aldrahelgaste, intilldess en Prest uppkomme med Ljus och Fullkomlighet.
66 All the assembly together [is] forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
Hela menigheten, såsom en man, var tu och fyratio tusend trehundrad och sextio;
67 apart from their servants and their handmaids—these [are] seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven; and of them [are] male and female singers, two hundred forty-five.
Undantagne deras tjenare och tjenarinnor, de voro sjutusend trehundrad sju och tretio; och de hade tuhundrad fem och fyratio sångare och sångerskor;
68 Their horses [are] seven hundred thirty-six; their mules, two hundred [and] forty-five;
Sjuhundrad sex och tretio hästar; tuhundrad fem och fyratio mular;
69 camels, four hundred thirty-five; donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

70 And from the extremity of the heads of the fathers they have given to the work; the Tirshatha has given to the treasure, one thousand drams of gold, fifty bowls, five hundred and thirty priests’ coats.
Och somlige af öfversta fäderna gåfvo till verket: Thirsatha gaf till drätselen tusende gylden, och femtio bäcken, femhundrad och tretio Prestakjortlar.
71 And of the heads of the fathers they have given to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver.
Och somlige af de öfversta fäder gåfvo i drätselen till verket tjugutusend gylden, tutusend och tuhundrad pund silfver.
72 And that which the rest of the people have given [is] twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests’ coats.
Och det andra folket gaf tjugutusend gylden, och tutusend pund silfver, och sju och sextio Prestakjortlar.
73 And they dwell—the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and [some] of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel—in their cities, and the seventh month comes, and the sons of Israel [are] in their cities.
Och Presterna, och Leviterna, och dörravaktarena, sångare, och somlige af folket, och de Nethinim, och hele Israel, satte sig uti sina städer.
