< Nehemiah 5 >

1 And there is a great cry of the people and their wives, concerning their brothers the Jews,
Hiche phat laitah hin pasal phabep leh ajiteuvin a Judah chanpi ho dounan kiphin na thu ahin samphong tauvin ahi.
2 indeed, there are [those] who are saying, “Our sons, and our daughters, we—are many, and we receive grain, and eat, and live.”
Amahon hitin aseiyun ahi, “Keiho hi insung mi tamte kahiuve, hijeh chun kaki hinso nadiuvin neh le chah kangaicha be uvin ahi,” atiuve.
3 And there are [those] who are saying, “Our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses, we are pledging, and we receive grain for the famine.”
Adanghon aseiyun, keihon kel lhah sunga anneh kakimu na diuvin ka in ule kalouvu chuleh ka lengpileiyu katungdoh tauvin ahi.
4 And there are [those] who are saying, “We have borrowed money for the tribute of the king, [on] our fields, and our vineyards;
Chuleh adangin aseikit’un, “Keihon kai pehna dingin kalouvu leh kalengpileiyu sumpa lah na in katung gam tauvin ahi.
5 and now, as the flesh of our brothers [is] our flesh, as their sons [are] our sons, and behold, we are subduing our sons and our daughters for servants, and there are [those] of our daughters subdued, and our hand has no might, and our fields and our vineyards [are] to others.”
Keiho hi ahao ho insung mi mama kahiuvin, kachateu jong amaho chate tobang ahiuvin, ahinla kaki hinso thei nadiuva hi kachateu hi sohchang dinga suma kaki joh gam diu ahitai. Chule keihon kachanuteu hi kada kachamlou’uva kajoh gammu ahitan alonaje kahe tapouvin ahi, ajeh chu kalou’u leh ka lengpilei houhi mi koma katundoh gamu ahitai,” atiuvin ahi.
6 And it is very displeasing to me when I have heard their cry and these words,
Hiche alunglhai lou nau thulhuh hi kajah doh phat in kalung ahanglheh jengin ahi.
7 and my heart reigns over me, and I strive with the nobles, and with the prefects, and say to them, “You are exacting usury on one another”; and I set against them a great assembly,
Giltah a lunggel kanei jouvin, mithupi hole vaihom hochu kaphoh’in, “Nanghon nasopi houvin sumpa alahnauva sumthoi nalah’uhi nasuh gentheiyu ahi,” katin ahi. Hitichun keiman hiche thu suhtohna dinga hin mipi kikhopna khat kana gongin ahi.
8 and say to them, “We have acquired our brothers the Jews, those sold to the nations, according to the ability that [is] in us, and you also sell your brothers, and they have been sold to us!” And they are silent, and have not found a word.
Hiche kikhopna a hin keiman hitin kana seiye, “Eihon isopi Judahte namdang ho koma amahole amaho ana kijohdoh hohi nung lhatdoh kitna dinga lung aki ngaito lai tah in nanghon amaho hi sohchang dingin nale joh doh kit tauvin ahi. Chule amaho hi i-jatvei lom i-lhadoh diu ham?” kati. Chujongle amahon akihon na diuvin ima sei ding ahepouvin ahi.
9 And I say, “The thing that you are doing [is] not good; do you not walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?
Chuin keiman kaseibe kitin, “Nathil bol’u hi adihpoi! I-melma nam hohin einoise louna diuvin I-Pathen’u ginna a hi ikimanchah lou diu ham?
10 And also, I, my brothers, and my servants, are exacting silver and grain on them; please let us leave off this usury.
Keimatah le kasopi ho chule kana tonghon mipi ho koma hi sum le pai chule chang leh mim ho kana hom un ahi, ahinla tubeh hin sumthoi hi lah dau hite.
11 Please give back to them, as today, their fields, their vineyards, their olive-yards, and their houses, and the hundredth [part] of the money, and of the grain, of the new wine, and of the oil, that you are exacting of them.”
Nanghon alou hou le alengpilei hou, le Olive thinglei jouseu chule a in hou chu, tuni tah hin lepeh tauvin. Chule bat dinga sum, changle mim, lengpitwi le Olive thaova kona athoi nalah hou chu nale peh teitei diu ahi,” katin ahi.
12 And they say, “We give back, and we seek nothing from them; so we do as you are saying.” And I call the priests, and cause them to swear to do according to this thing;
Chule amahon eidon but’un, “Keihon mipiho chu lepeh soh keijuving ting chule amahoa konin imacha ngeh tapou vinge, keihon nasei bang bang’a chu kabol diu ahitai,” atiuve. Hijou chun keiman thempuho le mithupi ho chule vaihom ho chu kakouvin akitepnau banga atohdoh tei na diuvin kakihahsel sah in ahi.
13 also, I have shaken my lap, and I say, “Thus God shakes out every man from his house and from his labor who does not perform this thing; indeed, thus is he shaken out and empty”; and all the assembly says, “Amen,” and praises YHWH; and the people do according to this thing.
Chuphat in keiman kaponchol chu kathingin kaseitai, “Nakitepnau dungjuija chu nabol louvu leh na insung’u leh na thilkeu houva konin nathing lhauhen kati,” Chule khoppi pumpin eidonbut’uvin, “Amen,” atiuvin Pakai athangvah’un ahi. Chule mipi ho chun akitepnau bang bangin atongdoh tauvin ahi.
14 Also, from the day that he appointed me to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even to the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes the king—twelve years—I, and my brothers, have not eaten the bread of the governor:
Hitihin kum som le ni sung in Judah gamvaipo in kapangin chule Artexerxes lengchan kal kum somni a pat kum som thumle ni changei, kei kahin kanoiya vaipo ho ahin katoh nau dinmun dungjuiya kachan ding dol’u chanvou chu kalapouve.
15 the former governors who [are] before me have made themselves heavy on the people, and take of them in bread and wine, besides forty shekels in silver; also, their servants have ruled over the people—and I have not done so, because of the fear of God.
Gamvaipo masa hon vang mipiho pohgih nasa tah anapoh sah un, dangka shekel som li kalval in mipi lah a neh le chah chule lengpitwi ana kidon jiuvin ahi. Chule alhachauva pangte ho jengin jong mipi chunga ana kinomsah jiuvin ahinlah keiman Pathen kagin jeh'in hiti chun kanabol pon ahi.
16 And also, in the work of this wall I have done mightily, even a field we have not bought, and all my servants are gathered there for the work;
Keima tah jengin jong pal sem na a hin lunglut tah in na katongin chule gam leiset lamdoh ding jong kana gelpoi. Chule kalhacha ho jeng jong hiche pal semna ahin kana mangcha soh keiyin ahi.
17 and of the Jews, and of the prefects, one hundred and fifty men, and those coming to us of the nations that [are] around us, [are] at my table;
Gam chom choma kona kholjin hungji ho tilou vin jong Judah miho vaihom ho mi ja nga le som nga hi thonlou vin an neh kakhang jingjin ahivangin keiman ima kana ngeh pon ahi.
18 and that which has been prepared for one day [is] one ox, six fat sheep, also birds have been prepared for me, and once in ten days of all wines abundantly, and with this, the bread of the governor I have not sought, for heavy is the service on this people.
Niseh a keiman neh le chah a kato doh jing chu bongchal khat, kelngoi ahilou le kelcha gup ahcha tampi ahijinge. Chule nisom seh leh donding lengpitwi suhneng jing angaiyin ahi. Ahiyeng vang'in keiman gamvaipo kahina a eikipe nehle chah kachan ding dol chu kangeh deh poi, ajeh chu mipihon pohgih apohkhop set sau ahi.
19 Remember for me, O my God, for good, all that I have done for this people.
Vo ka Pathen keima hiche mite dinga thil hijat kabol hi neigeldoh peh in lang hiche jeh hin phatthei neiboh in.
