< Nehemiah 4 >
1 And it comes to pass, when Sanballat has heard that we are building the wall, that it is displeasing to him, and he is very angry and mocks at the Jews,
Iwe were Sanbalat nke ukwuu mgbe ọ nụrụ na anyị na-ewuzigharị mgbidi ahụ niile. O were iwe dị ọkụ, ọnụma jukwara ya obi. Ọ chịrị ndị Juu ọchị, kwaakwa ha emo.
2 and says before his brothers and the force of Samaria, indeed, he says, “What [are] the weak Jews doing? Are they left to themselves? Do they sacrifice? Do they complete in a day? Do they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish—and they are burned?”
Ha ga-esita nʼaja a kụpịasịrị akụpịa mee ka nkume ndị a dị ndụ, ka ọ bụ site na nkume ochie ndị a akpọrọ ọkụ?”
3 And Tobiah the Ammonite [is] by him and says, “Also, that which they are building—if a fox goes up, then it has broken down their stone wall.”
4 Hear, O our God, for we have been despised; and return their reproach on their own head, and give them for a spoil in a land of captivity;
Mgbe ahụ, e kpere m ekpere sị, “Chineke, biko nụrụ emo a na-akwa anyị. Ka ịkwa emo ha laghachikwa ha nʼisi; ka a dọtakwa ha nʼagha buru ha jee mba ọzọ.
5 and do not cover over their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You, for they have provoked [You] to anger in front of those building.
Elefula mmehie ha anya, agbagharakwala ha, nʼihi na ha ledara gị anya, ledakwa anyị anya, bụ ndị na-ewuzi mgbidi gị.”
6 And we build the wall, and all the wall is joined—to its half, and the people have a heart to work.
Ya mere, anyị wuziri mgbidi ahụ ruo mgbe ha niile ruru ọkara nʼịdị elu ya, nʼihi na onye ọbụla wepụtara obi ya ịrụ ọrụ.
7 And it comes to pass, when Sanballat has heard, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, that lengthening has gone up to the walls of Jerusalem, that the breeches have begun to be stopped, then it is very displeasing to them,
Ma mgbe Sanbalat, Tobaya, ndị Arab, ndị Amọn na ndị Ashdọd nụrụ na ọrụ iwuzi mgbidi Jerusalem na-aga nʼihu, nụkwa na-emechichala ebe niile puru epu, iwe were ha nke ukwuu.
8 and they conspire, all of them together, to come to fight against Jerusalem, and to do to it injury.
Ha niile gbara izu ịchịrị ndị agha bịa imegide Jerusalem, ime ka ọgbaaghara dị nʼobodo ahụ.
9 And we pray to our God, and appoint a watch against them, by day and by night, because of them.
Ma anyị kpere ekpere nye Chineke, kwụbakwa ndị nche iguzogide ha ehihie na abalị.
10 And Judah says, “The power of the burden-bearers has become feeble, and the rubbish [is] abundant, and we are not able to build on the wall.”
Mgbe ahụ, ndị Juda bidoro itamu ntamu na-asị, na ike ebidola ịgwụ ndị ọrụ ha, na mkpọmkpọ ihe fọdụrụ ka buru ibu, na naanị anyị apụghị ịrụcha mgbidi ahụ.
11 And our adversaries say, “They do not know, nor see, until we come into their midst, and have slain them, and caused the work to cease.”
Ma nʼotu oge ahụ kwa, ndị iro anyị na-agba izu nʼakụkụ, na-achọ igbu anyị mgbe anyị na-eleghị anya ha maọbụ mara ka ọrụ ahụ kwụsị.
12 And it comes to pass, when the Jews have come who are dwelling near them, that they say to us ten times from all the places to where you return—[they are] against us.
Ndị Juu ndị bi ha nso bịara ọtụtụ mgbe gwa anyị, “Ebe ọbụla unu gbagara, ha ga-ebuso unu agha.”
13 And I appoint at the lowest of the places, at the back of the wall, in the clear places, indeed, I appoint the people, by their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
Nʼihi ya, eguzobere m ndị ụfọdụ nʼebe niile dịkarịsịrị ala nʼazụ mgbidi ahụ, nʼebe niile ghere oghe, e guzobere ha, kpanye ha mma agha, ùbe na ụta nʼaka dịka ezinaụlọ ha si dị.
14 And I see, and rise up, and say to the nobles, and to the prefects, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord, the great and the fearful, and fight for your brothers, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”
Mgbe m lezichara ihe niile anya, eguzooro m ọtọ sị ndị ahụ a na-asọpụrụ, na ndị ọchịchị niile na ndị ọzọ nʼobodo ahụ, “Unu atụla ha egwu. Chetanụ na Onyenwe anyị, nke dị ukwuu na-eyikwa egwu, ma bukwaaranụ ezinaụlọ unu, ụmụ unu ndị ikom ndị inyom, ndị nwunye unu na ụlọ unu agha.”
15 And it comes to pass, when our enemies have heard that it has been known to us, and God frustrates their counsel, and we return, all of us, to the wall, each to his work;
Mgbe ndị iro anyị chọpụtara na anyị amatala izu ọjọọ ha, na Chineke emebiekwala atụmatụ ha, anyị onwe anyị laghachiri nʼọrụ anyị nke iwuzi mgbidi ahụ.
16 indeed, it comes to pass, from that day, half of my servants are working in the business, and half of them are keeping hold of both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the coats of mail; and the heads [are] behind all the house of Judah.
Sitekwa nʼoge ahụ gaa nʼihu, anyị kere onwe anyị ụzọ abụọ. Ụfọdụ ndị ji ùbe, ọta na ụta na-anọ na nche mgbe ndị ọzọ na-arụ ọrụ. Ndịisi niile pụtakwara guzo nʼazụ ndị Juda niile ebe ha nọ nʼihu ọrụ ha.
17 The builders on the wall, and the bearers of the burden, those loading, [each] with one of his hands is working in the business, and one is laying hold of the missile.
Ndị na-edo nkume na ndị ọrụ ọbụla debere ngwa ọgụ ha nʼebe ọ ga-eru ha aka mgbe ọbụla ha na-arụ ọrụ.
18 And the builders [are] each with his sword, girded on his loins, and building, and he who is blowing with a horn [is] beside me.
Ndị ọzọ tinyere mma agha ha nʼukwu ha. Ndị na-egbu opi nọkwa m nʼakụkụ mgbe niile maka ịfụ opi mgbe a chọrọ ya.
19 And I say to the nobles, and to the prefects, and to the rest of the people, “The work is abundant, and large, and we are separated on the wall, far off from one another;
Mgbe ahụ, asịrị m ndị niile a na-asọpụrụ, ndị ọchịchị na ndị mmadụ ọzọ ahụ niile, “Ọrụ anyị nwere ịrụ dị ukwuu, gbasapụkwa, anyị anọkọtaghị ọnụ nʼotu ebe, ekewakwara anyị ebe dị iche iche na mgbidi.
20 in the place that you hear the voice of the horn there you are gathered to us; our God fights for us.”
Ya mere, mgbe ọbụla unu nụrụ ụda opi, gbaranụ ọsọ bịa nʼebe m nọ. Chineke ga-alụkwara anyị ọgụ.”
21 And we are working in the business, and half of them are keeping hold of the spears, from the going up of the dawn until the coming forth of the stars.
Ya mere, anyị nọgidere nʼọrụ anyị site nʼìhè mbụ nke ụtụtụ rụọ mgbe kpakpando pụtara. Ọkara nʼime ndị ọrụ jikwa ùbe nọrọ na nche.
22 Also, at that time I said to the people, “Let each lodge with his servant in the midst of Jerusalem, and they have been a watch for us by night, and [for] the work by day”:
Agwara m ndịisi ọrụ niile okwu sị ha na onyeisi ọrụ ọbụla na ndị na-enyere ya aka nʼọrụ ga na-anọ na Jerusalem nʼabalị niile. Nʼụzọ dị otu a, ndị ọrụ ga-arụ ọrụ ha nʼoge ihe dị, ma ha ga-anọkwa na nche nʼabalị.
23 and there are none—I, and my brothers, and my servants, the men of the watch who [are] after me—there are none of us putting off our garments, each [has] his vessel of water.
Nʼoge ndị a niile, eyipụghị m uwe m yi nʼahụ. O nwekwaghị onye ọbụla ọzọ, maọbụ nwanne m nwoke, maọbụ ndị nche na-eso m onye yipụrụ uwe ya ma onye ukwu ma onye nta. Mma agha anyị na-adịkwa anyị nʼukwu mgbe niile, ọbụladị mgbe anyị chọrọ mmiri.
